Description

Specialties

Kang Kang Food Court, also called Kang Kang Shau May, has become a local hot spot for Chinese cuisine — where we serve 5 different styles from regions from all over China — Northern, Eastern, Southern, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. We serve more than 200 different dimsum items on our menu. Also for your convenience, we offer more than 60 fresh Chinese dishes on our steamed table everyday for quick service and fast food. We also serve a delicious Chinese breakfast from 7:00 to 10:30 every morning. Our Shanghai Pan Friend Small Pork Bao (Shen Jie Bao) was honored as one of 2009 LA Times’ top 10 best recipes. Our Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup uses premium beef, which is so tender and delicious, and has become increasingly popular. The combination of these two dishes has become the number one choice for two people. A customer jokingly referred it as «Kang Kang’s Valentine Meal!» for a couple, you can also expect a nice treat for your wallet with an average dining cost for each person of only $ 7.00.

History

Established in 2013.

Our first Kang Kang Food Court in Monterey Park was called «Shau May Restaurant» in 1999. It only served Chinese fast food, Taiwanese dimsum, Ice slash and Soft drink

We introduced Shanghai Pan Fried Small Pork Bao, also called «Sheng Jie Bao» In Shanghai in 2002 and it is our specialty and bestseller. We hired a famous chef from Shanghai who has mastered this dish and has had 39 years of experience under his belt. At our restaurant, he has also become a general manager for all 4 of our wonderful restaurants.

Since 2010 we have promoted another dish that has become a new house specialty is our Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup. We use a premium cut of BEEF CHEEK, which is the most tender cut of beef — usually only served in high end American and French restaurants throughout LA. We also have a special recipe for the broth. With the combination of perfectly cooked noodles, amazing broth, the most delicious beef you will ever taste, and a price that cannot be beat (only $ 7.75 including tax).

Meet the Business Owner

John Y.

Business Owner

I and my wife Terri started our first business in 1999 and it was called «Shau May Restaurant». It only served Chinese fast food, Taiwanese dimsum, Ice slash and Soft drink before 2002.

Since 2002 we also serve many popular dishes from different regions of China, such as Beef Roll, Jing Dong Meat Pie, and Pie with Simmered Pork and Green Onion from Northern China; Kang Kang Wonton Noodles from Southern China and Hong Kong; Fresh Pork Meat Rice Ball Soup, Read Bean Rice Ball Soup, and Salted Vegetable Fried Rice from Eastern China. We serve more than 200 dimsum dishes from five major regions of China — Northern, Eastern, Southern, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. For quick service, we also provide more than 60 fresh dishes on our steamed table for your convenience. Breakfast is served 7:00 — 10:30 AM. Our idea is to make our restaurants become a family kitchen.
