Stopped in for hotdogs & shake. No shakes definitely need to clean tables… It was ok for the price, the hotdogs were a little burned and the chocolate cream pie needed more flavor in the crust, like a yeah cracker crust but it was ok.

2 hours after eating, several of us got sick. but other than that. Great burgers! The bun game is weak. It was a nice experience and they provided good service. Next time I’ll try the pies.

Lets be real folks! every nation’s you’ve ever gone to in the bay is hella hood a.k.a ghetto! thats nation’s signature… good eats in a ghetto environment(when in the bay), but sunrise blvd in the heights of citrus??? C’mon! they are clean, nice, and efficient. You want to learn appreciation for this location go to nation’s in Vallejo on Tennessee st or nation’s on Broadway in Oakland… then tell me about this location. Citrus Heights staff, keep up the good work! Out.

Love this place. Went to Habit Burgers but it was too full. So sitting in the parking lot I Unilocaled nearby burger joints with descent ratings and ran across Nation’s. After reading the ratings for Nation’s there were mixed reviews but I tried it anyway. It was fantastic!!! The perfect burger and fries! Love it and will return.

Came here for a school fundraiser. Severely understaffed(2 people working) and I think they ran out of hamburgers. The hamburgers looked great when they went on the grill, unfortunately they came out burned and hard 40 minutes later. As a plus produce was fresh and fries were good.

First time here. Will be the last. Ordered 3 burgers with 2 cheese fries. Burgers were overdone, fries were undercooked. Plus they have not heard of shredded cheese. The cheese fries were just a slice of cheese slightly melted over some of the fries. Paid $ 30 to know I won’t be back. Gave it 2 stars for being clean.

This place is pretty good! They have so much to choose from. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and a whole bunch of pies. You get your meal out within 7 minutes. I like their burgers with bacon, but wish they had avocado!

I’m a big fan of the Nations chain from when I lived in the bay area and I hope a manager or someone from corporate reads this and breathes life into this location. The employees all looked dead inside, like they absolutely hated the fact that they were there. My burger came without tomatoes for some reason. That’s my favorite topping :/ Our order came without the fries that we ordered and we had to go back and ask for them and two of the employees squabbled over whose fault it was. The pies are still on point. The ambiance is good and I definitely dig the design of the restaurant. But this ship is not sailing smoothly and it needs a new captain. This place can definitely survive in Sacramento but right now it feels super neglected by corprate.

My husband loves this place, I think they are good but prefer others. The burgers are decent but tend to be greasy. The fries are really good though. The do serve breakfast, they tend to be little pricey though. They have a huge selection of homemade pies though. They are delishes. Staff is friendly and place is clean.

I ordered a double cheese burger with bacon and peppers(Olé Style)! I was satisfied with the size and price what a value! I believed I payed 6 bucks for it and it was well worth it! The place can use a little more décor and personality though it seems like you enter a old fashioned pie restaurant that happens to specialize in hamburgers and I don’t think hamburgers and pies go together maybe you do but it threw me off… overall the family enjoyed their burgers with no problems… I’m glad I came in because I haven’t been to Nations in a long time and the last time was back in Berkeley and I’m glad I have one not to far from where I live(Carmichael)

This was my first visit here. I stopped in because I was working close by and I was hungry for some breakfast but I was not impressed. I went up to the counter to look at their menu and the guy working there seemed very impatient. I told him that I have never eaten there before and needed some time to review their menu and he kept standing there tapping the counter giving me a very impatient look and asking me several times if I was ready. I was the only person waiting to order and there was only one other person in the restaurant. I ordered their two egg breakfast, scrambled eggs with cheese. I don’t care for hash browns and he told me that I can substitute French toast for the hash browns. He then asked me if I wanted strawberries with my French toast but did not inform me it would cost me $ 2 more. I had to ask for my receipt, which seemed like a hassle to get. That’s when I discovered the $ 2 up charge for the strawberries. I cancelled the strawberries and asked for a refund I was made to feel as if I had done something wrong. When I was called to come pick up my food at the counter I noticed that my eggs weren’t scrambled at all. They looked like a folded over egg with a ¼ slice of processed cheese on top. I’ve never had processed cheese on my eggs before at any restaurant I have ever eaten at before. The linguica was a very small piece of meat, it was half of a sausage, split down the middle but only 3 pieces so ¾ of a small sausage. The French toast was good. They serve Coke products and no fresh brewed iced tea. The place was clean. There were some construction guys who were working next door to where I was working and they were constantly coming in and out to use their restroom and I don’t even remember them buying anything. That was very distracting and disrespectful yet nothing was said to them.

So lately the bf and I have been on a hunt for great burgers… This place was ok, nothing to write home about(just Unilocal!) I got the regular cheeseburger with grilled onion and onion rings. The burger had too much mayo just like reviewers had mentioned previously and the onion rings tasted like maybe it was time to clean/replace their frying oil. Also, they were a little difficult to eat because every time I took a bite it would just crumble all over the place.

This is a Bay Area favorite of ours. It is well known for the amazing pies, but also for the breakfast and burgers. On a good day we’ll make it out here to have some pancakes, bacon, egg & coffee. More often than not we’re here indulging in their burgers. I personally love their chili cheeseburger with onions and I’ll order than with chili cheese fries. You really can’t go wrong ordering anything from here. All of our experiences with this Nation’s has been perfect. Depending where we are at we will sometimes visit other locations like Hayward, Vacaville, San Ramon or Pleasanton. If you are ever near one give it a try! You won’t be disappointed!

I came in and ordered a burger with a fried egg on it and the cashier commented that it sounded good to him, the cashier was very friendly. When I got my order, it did not have the egg on it so I took it back up and told the lady who was making the orders about the mistake. She said that it wasn’t on the ticket. To which I responded that I ordered it that way and it was repeated to me and he made a comment about how it sounded good. No matter what I said she just kept saying it wasn’t on the ticket. Then, she walked over and printed out the ticket. At which point, I said that I didn’t need to see the ticket because I’m not arguing what was or wasn’t on the ticket, I’m simply saying that I ordered it that way and the cashier repeated it to me. So, she said that if I wanted the egg then I needed to pay for it. I told her that I no longer wanted the burger and I would like a refund. Let me be clear, I am FINE with paying for anything additional I add to my burger and would’ve been more than happy to pay for it under two circumstances; 1. If I had been charged after I ordered it and before I paid. 2. Had she apologized for the mistake and given me the option to either pay for the egg or have my burger refunded.(I still wouldn’t have been thrilled given the fact that it wasn’t my mistake, however, I would’ve appreciated the apology and options.) Before I left I did ask for her name, Tasha, and as I sat and ate the rest of my food, my sister-in-law joined me. When I told her the story she said that she has also had problems with that same person being curt with her as well. The food I ate, chili cheese fries and half of my sister’s burger, were ok but nothing to write home about and I wasn’t happy with the cheese on the fries(it was the processed, sliced, kraft cheese.)

I used to love going to the Nation’s in Berkeley, so I really hope my experience at this location was a one-time ordeal. I have a bad feeling it was not, but I am hopeful of being able to update this review for a more favorable one in the future. I arrived at this restaurant at around 8:30p.m. on a weekday. I was planning on going to the Habit, but after spotting this Nation’s, I had to pay it a visit after so many happy burger and pie dates at their Berkeley location. When I walked in, there was one other party in the restaurant. They looked like they were waiting for their food, and the ladies working the counter were chatting it up. My friend wanted a burger as well, so I ordered two cheeseburgers and some fries to-go. The lady taking my order was a little unnecessarily rude, giving me further bad vibes, when I asked her for no ketchup or onions. «If you look at the picture above, you can see everything in our burger.» I look up, see a picture of a burger, say uhhh, and she then points out that there is no ketchup in their burgers. I really wish she would have just said that. Anyway, I waited for the food about 10 minutes. I asked for honey mustard; didn’t get it. I caught the mistake in the car and ran in to ask for some before leaving. What really bothered me here was the quality of the burger. I paid over 5 dollars for this burger, and it was incredibly bland! The ingredients did not mesh well at all, it was a bit dry, and the beef patty quality left much to be desired. The burger literally gets 1 star. I was so sad afterwards. I mean, I would have preferred to invest the 5 dollars in their $ 5 pie slices instead, and surely come out happier. What made matters worse was knowing that the Habit was across the street, and a delicious burger could have been had their cheaper, faster, and with better service. Heck, the Habit is probably even healthier, as the bag my food was in was soaked in grease by the time I got home(10-minute drive). I do not think I will be paying Nation’s a visit in a good while, but I secretly hope I am treated to a burger from them, because I really want them to serve good burgers(and hope my experience was an outlier)!

As a Bay Area native, I’ve been for going to Nations for decades. This is the greasy spoon of chain restaurants(and I mean that in a good way). The older locations can be run down, sketchy, with sticky floors(see Oakland @Jack London Square), so this shiny, new, retro-modern shop is a real treat. Bring your appetite, because prices are low and portions are large. Breakfast served anytime. Their pies are delicious. My all-time fave is banana cream, and this is a good spot to get pies during the holidays.

Very unhappy with this location.:( I came here with my family & we were kind of rudely greated by «johnny». Since it was Vetran’s Day we asked are you doing any deals for Vet’s. He replied, «No», and just basically laughed at us, I’ve read previous reviews & it’s seems like this«johnny» is ruining the image of your company. We decided to give it a try since we have been to a different location and had a good experience. ATMOSPHERE: The inside of the resturant was absolutly ***DISCUSTING**** there was dirty tables from HOURS later! It was nasty, we had to basically clean a table off for ourselves. The only thing that was clean was the womans bathroom, becides the fact there were no paper towels. I wanted rootbeer and it was out i asked«johnny» to change it and he basically put it off until i got really upset. I asked 3TIMES while we were waiting. Also they were workers hooked on there phones. FOOD: We ordered our food around 1pm, waiting 30 mins basically to get our food. :(There was hardly anyone in the resturant. We ordered 2 Bacon Cheeseburgers, 2 Fries, 1 Hotdog, &1REGULAR Pumpkin CheeseCake The cheeseburgers were very unflavorful, and drenched in mayo. Fries were meh, and the cheese cake was great. Probally the only thing we liked. Over all, after the way we have been treated this will be the first and last time we will ever be coming to this location. Work on your employees, **Custumer is KING** Without them, youre business is garbage. I will be going to smashburger from no on. Thanks

A spotless clean and pleasant environment. One of the employees was actually placing small vases of fresh cut daises and carnations on every table when I walked in. It was sweet ;) . I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions and pickles. I also added grilled peppers. My mouth was salivating as I glanced at the pie case next to the register. An extra bonus at this restaurant are the pies. Like an old-fashioned soda shop this restaurant sells and makes seasonal pies as well. The pies are sold by the slice as well as whole. This place would be a fun to visit for pie and coffee on a weekend evening with friends as well. The burger I ordered was quite juicy yet very messy. Note to self: next time… Bring a bib and an extra hand towel. By the way, be careful should you be wearing a nice blouse or nice clothing when you eat here as there is a good chance you might drip all over yourself! My overall suggestion should you be in a carnivorous mood, which I often am, is to throw one back at this burger joint. You will not regret it. Here’s a picture of my hamburger before I devoured one half of it. The rest I brought home with me in a bag.
