RIPOFF if you think you are going to get the free trip they promise when you sign up to go to the presentation.
The actual presentation was good and I really wanted to sign with them although the timing isn’t good this year. I would have reviewed it again at a later date but not now that almost a year has passed and I don’t get the Hawaii trip that was promised.
I have given many dates that I’m available to travel and their 3^rd party company hasn’t honored any of them.
Now they have called and gave me «a better deal» a week in an upgraded condo anywhere I want to go… but guess what, although there were MANY Hawaii options out on the site, once I put in MY voucher number, they all disappear and oh boy, I can go to Tahoe or Vegas or some place out in the desert.
I signed up for Hawaii and that is what I should get. Don’t be fooled by this scam!!!

Waste of time. Pure garbage. We were told we would receive $ 100 dining dollars good for local restaurants, in actuality we received worthless coupons. Do yourself a favor and stay home. Their offer sounds promising but if they scam you on the dining dollars I can only imagine worse from vacation offer. Here is an example of their dining dollars offer: buy a $ 100 red robin gift card and you will get $ 10 dollars off! how does that sound to you?

If you’re not married, make sure you have some thing that has you and your girlfriends address on it together, bring a credit card not a debit card, and make sure you make enough money to get the cruise offer.
This is not a timeshare. You are buying the ability to get travel discounts on major hotels/​airlines/​packages, etc.
So yea, it’s roughly $ 8,000 plus $ 495 registration fee and $ 150 a year to keep the membership up. If you don’t travel a lot it’s not worth it at all.
Me and the lady sat thru the sales presentation. Got grilled to buy it, when we didn’t, we got passed to 3 other sales reps to try and force us to buy. Each time they will discount it a bit more, eventually going to a $ 4,000 option or a try it for a lil while option for $ 1,000 then use that as a credit to get the life membership, that has survivors benefits (You an give it to your kids)
During the high pressure sales presentation I was bored and started googling the company. Say ton’s of bad reviews. Check out google plus, Unilocal,complaintsboard, rip off report, yellow pages, etc.
Several people mentioned that they could get better deals by purchasing the same trip thru Expedia. I mentioned that to my first «salesman» and he agreed. Before I had a chance to talk further with him, I was given a different salesman.
Eventually I was passed to the manager for my last hard sell. I tried to get him to Pull up some travel packages on internet travel sites like expedia and compare them to what his company can do; but he downright refused to do it.
So no idea if this company is legit or not.
I didn’t get my $ 100 gift card they promised, but did get the 3 night cruise voucher. Be advised you will have to pay $ 300 or so to get a bare bones no window stateroom and you will have to go thru multiple requests to get your travel date; if ever. Best option pay for an upgraded stateroom (You’ll be glad you did) and you’ll get a travel date.

Cruise was not even in the game. They call u to tell u that u have won a two night vaca in Vegas or San D… airfare included. U have to fo to a presentation in the sleazy part of Citrus Heights. They say they have refreshments before so come early… they had water, stale coffee, ice tea and dollar store cookies… wowzer!!!
They show u around the building. like we care. they take u onto a room with a video screen and ask u all kinds of bs questions. They give u a scratcher and tell u u can win a new Beamer, $ 500 and many more prizes. When u scratch, if u don’t get a pot of gold on first try. u loose… but they will give u second trip to Hawaii… only catch is they don’t pay airfare. The LV Hotel is Stratosphere and is far from the strip. SD hotel is a flea bag. U have to put a $ 100 deposit to reserve either trip and have to make a rez 60 days in advance. the travel times are early am… like 6 am or late night… like 11pm.
We walked out. They want u to buy a membership in a travel club. u can get the same deals on Travel Zoo or. Any travel website.
Do not go. if u do u have been warned. They make u stay for 90 minutes and like any time share presentation they pressure u into buying.
It is really bait and switch as the cruise was not even mentioned.

Update 8÷11÷15 — we got a call from the Vice President before we even got home and he made it all right with us. He clearly was concerned about customer satisfaction and deeply concerned that the 3^rd party vendor who presented the incentive gifts was not properly representing the company. After a discussion with Jeff (the VP) and one of his employees, and receiving the gift we were promised, we have a completely different perspective about this company!
Watch out for bait and switch. We were promised an incentive gift and when we arrived we discovered that the gift was not what was promised. We should know better-​these kind of travel packages are often scams. There were apologies and promises that they would talk with the manager but they never offered to make it right. We drove 3 hours to get there for nothing!

I just left Goldrush Getaways. Elizabeth was amazing! She was so helpful. Was able to book a cruise for less then expected. She was a fountain of information. She made me feel at ease. Thank you Elizabeth! This visit made the start of our cruise experience less stressful.

I would like to commend this company for it’s integrity and follow-​up.
I have yet to experience this opportunity, however, I am encouraged to do so after my recent conversation with this company.

I’ve been a member of the Goldrush getaways since 2004. I have benefited by saving on my own travel and at this point, I have more than paid off my purchase through my commissions. I’ve taken many of their classes and get support every time I call the office.
The reason I haven’t given them a five star rating is that I think they should offer members like me higher commissions and they can be sometimes slow paying the commission checks. All-​in-​all, if you are truly interested in purchasing travel at travel-​agent rates and earning commission on travel you book for others, vs. just going for the prize in exchange for listening to a presentation about the program, then don’t enter the contests at home shows and fairs. This type of marketing is typical for travel and timeshare or vacation programs and isn’t for people who don’t see value in making memories with family and friends.

Went to the 90minute pitch meeting. Everyone with the company is very professional, polite and efficient. They are not as high pressure as a pitch for time shares, but they have to inform you of all your options to join on different financial levels. We did not join, but might consider down the road for the travel discounts. We are not retired or wealthy, so for us, it wouldn’t pay to make the up front investment. I’m sure we will enjoy out «free» 4 night cruise to Catalina/​Ensenada when we go in the next year. Don’t know any one that has used this company, but they have been around for 18 years. The test will be how we are treated in the cruise when we go!

I see a lot of reviews which are negative, but it seems to me all the negative reviews are people who didn’t purchase.
The people who purchase the packages love Goldrush. It’s almost as if some people went there for a prize and not to learn about travel. So what is their review actually about? Is it about travel or the presentation and the ease of claiming a gift?
The reviews about the Goldrush program and product are good so if you want to actually use a traveling program then you’ll probably leave very happy.

We’ve been member of Goldrush Getaways for over two years. I wish we had found it sooner. We like to travel, especially going on cruises. The deals we’ve gotten for cruises have been fantastic and have more than paid for our investment.
Being able to book a hotel or cruise for our personal use and get the commission is great. So many of the cruise lines offer special deals for travel agents that absolutely blow mind.
One thing we really enjoy is the never ending training provided by various vendors as well as the Goldrush staff. It’s great when you can’t be there in person that most of the training is available via Webinar.

My fiancé and I met their marketers at the Sacramento Book Fair. We thought we’d check out their presentation for a free weekend in Hawaii.
As an estimator myself, I appreciate their atmosphere, ambiance, uppity soundtrack, luggage in the lobby, and other props. The presenter had high energy and enthusiasm. The power point shown was obviously professionally done, and makes my power points look like caveman carvings.
On the negative side, she made a quasi-​racist statement which was pretty funny. She said «You people have a lot of family reunions,» referring to two black couples in the room with us along with a finger wave. It was a reference to how much we all travel.

The layers started to peel back when I saw a Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce plaque with no year marked… lol!
Also, there was no state license info associated with the «junior travel license» they were selling. So, we weren’t really sold on the general concept as being legitimate. We’re buying a home soon, so there was just no way.
If the concept is indeed legitimate, and someone has the money, then this might be a good deal!

I’d like to express my gratitude for the level of service provided by Goldrush Getaways for really exceeding my expectations. We normally do all of our own travel arrangements, but with the craziness of the holidays we decided to try our luck with Goldrush. I personally be happier with the knowledgeable & friendly service provided given this was our very first cruise. I was surprised by the number of options offered to me and was very pleased with the final outcome.
Your agents made booking our cruise a wonderful experience that I will be sure to brag about to friends & family.

What a scam. Pleasant until you say no to $ 8000 dollar travel agent license. Then hard sell. In the end was given what turned out to be worthless certificates.

We attended the 90 minute presentation from when we entered at a home show. We put down a $ 40 dollar deposit and we told we’d get that back as soon as we checked in. Actually, it was just before we left.
While the presentation was well prepared, executed and stayed on time, it was almost worse than buying a car. The hard sell to close was apparent. While the travel agents may not be paid on commission, it was clear the people at the presentation are. If that’s not the case, then the hard sell to purchase should stop.
It was a good investment, IF we had the money. We stated several times we couldn’t do it due to finances. We spoke to their finance manager, and after several attempts to get us to join, we still had to decline. I was considering this for a future date, which is an option, but the finance manager pushed a bit too hard when we declined. When she ended our conversation with, «Fine, you just showed up for the free gift» and pretty much walked off, that sealed the deal we wouldn’t join; ever.
Yes, they are a travel agency. Granted they get good deals. However, it wasn’t free when I have to arrange a sitter for several hours, it’s a 2-​hour round trip commute, we spent 90 minutes watching a presentation and about another hour between the intro and the close.
Of course, we knew that going in. The attitude was completely unnecessary and as a representative of the company, it wasn’t the best portrayal of a professional attitude.
P. S. We did receive a $ 100
card. This card allows you to print off $ 5-​$ 10 off «coupons» to use at local restaurants. I tried 3 cities and I’ve heard of TWO of the participating restaurants. Considering we used to eat out quite a bit, I expected to know more. There are no major restaurant chains on here and the local ones I’d be less willing to try as I’ve lived her for years and still haven’t heard of them. So much for that «gift».

If I could give zero I would. My husband was called one day about a special gift and he scheduled an appt to check it out. They told him to not forget his wallet even though we supposedly were getting something free. I got a weird vibe off of these people so I looked up some reviews on Unilocal.After seeing some pretty bad reviews we decided not to go to the appt. They haven’t stopped calling us since. They called him once last week and he kept telling them he wasn’t interested. He must’ve said it a million times but they kept saying «oh yes, but we have a special deal… Blah blah blah.» They called him again a couple of days ago and they did the same exact thing. We had to hang up on them.
They’re really desperate for customers. If you get a call from these people don’t give them the time of day.

They are a scam. They barely spoke English and had no idea who they had called. Some how they have gotten multiple phones numbers for me and keep calling. If you want a vacation to Aruba go to a legit travel site. Unless you want to to pay 4X the price.
I never went for the pitch, but got the gist over the phone.

Brian, I appreciate your response. However, let’s get something straight here. This is NOT a contest. According to the dictionary: «con·test — a race, conflict, or other competition between rivals, as for a prize.» –quite the contrary to your illogical definition of contest: «promise to contact you with information pertaining to the contest» Sorry, did I miss that clause on that little 4″ x 6″ paper saying «Enter to Win»?
Clearly, it’s a surreptitious tactic to get people’s personal information for your overtly aggressive sales people to sell vacations. Where’s the contest in that? I guarantee if you prefaced everyone that «Enter to Win Contest» really means «Contact Me for a Vacation Package Spiel», no one would «enter» unless they were genuinely interested in listening to a time share/​vacation package pitch.
Why must you disguise your vacation/​timeshare sales like this? Is it because you’re actually swindling people? The Unilocal reviews here definitely support that notion.
Why not sell vacations and timeshares honestly with a booth? We met some legitimate timeshare/​vacation package sellers at the Lafayette Art and Wine festival. They didn’t advertise «Enter to Win». They were very frank with their business. We paid $ 40 on the spot for their perks and agreed to listen to their spiel in exchange. We arrived on our chosen weekend, and they delivered as promised.
There were no harassing phone calls or BS excuses to obtain what was promised. Obviously, this honest method doesn’t work for you. Look at the plethora of bad reviews here. They are a testament to your true intentions. I give you credit for responding here though! –oh, the cojones and impressive shamelessness you possess! Yikes.

They call people on the National Do not Call Registry List which is illegal…
Its been almost a year since my original post and the owner Brian C. just now responds and apologizes that the opportunity was not clearly explained to me.
I did not win but I qualified is not what the caller Angela Mitchel said. She told me I won a shopping Spree.
