Yesterday’s memories may be on the small side but there is a lot within it. A thrift store set right next to Mercy Mt. Airy, Yesterday’s Memories would be a great place to pick up a get well gift if you didn’t feel like the normal gift shop fare! This thrift store is one of my wife’s favorites. The selection is limited, but what is available is of high quality, and there is less to rummage through. You know how about 30 — 50% of the stuff in Goodwill is broken, torn, severely damaged or just plain damaged? That isn’t ever the case here. The older women(I’m not trying to offend!) do such an incredible job of making sure that the second-hand goods sold there are in good shape and are things people want to buy. Even today, my friends and I were all able to find the Christmas sweaters we were hunting out for the party we were having. In the wake of the snarky commentary on sweaters adorned with rudolphs and Christmas trees, my friends were able to find a bread machine in great condition. The lady at the counter even handed out tips to them(and us — we just got one today too!) on how to get the most out of it. It really does show that in a thrift store quantity does not trump quality.
