Wessling can’t be beat. I had an 80-year old ash that the borers decimated. The tree was surrounded by wires and cables. They came in, cleaned every bit up, left the larger wood cut to fit my wood stove, and even stacked the wood. Not a trace of branches were left. The company respected my property and provided excellent customer service. They matched a lower bid by another company(Taylor Tree) who disrespected me.

I would recommend Wessling Tree Service for larger jobs, but for annual tree maintenance and trimming… skip. Wessling took down two enormous evergreens that were encroaching on my house. These trees were each about 30 – 40 feet tall. They came on time, took the trees down(timbeerrrrrr!-style), ground out the stumps, cleaned up the area so there wasn’t a pine needly mess and did this all very promptly. I was very happy with the service although it was a bit on the expensive side. I was able to negotiate the quote down about 10−15% by promising to use their services again. So a few weeks ago I decided that I needed to have an apple tree — also encroaching — cut down. This was a much smaller job and not nearly as messy or complicated. Wessling came out and quoted the same amount to cut down this dinky little apple tree as they did for the huge White Pine and Blue Spruce. Methinks not! They also have a $ 400 minimum to come out — which is pretty silly. Needless to say, I did not choose to go with Wessling for this smaller job. Disclaimer: I do love trees and I’ve made sure to replant a tree for each tree that I’ve removed. I swear, I’m not The Lorax.
