Verbargs is a family owned and operated local furniture store specializing in high quality furniture and accessories. Harold and Shirley Verbarg opened Verbargs Furniture in 1978 with the idea of selling quality goods at competitive prices. All five Verbarg daughters are involved in the business as well as other family members. Verbarg’s offers interior design services, window treatments and custom bedding for a unique and personal look. Verbarg’s is the exclusive Stickley dealer in the tri-​state area and offers a wide assortment of product. All delivery and set up is in house to add to the personal touch which makes Verbarg’s so special. Verbarg’s Furniture is a Cincinnati tradition.

Established in 1978.

Harold and Shirley Verbarg opened the Amelia store in January of 1978. Harold Verbarg started making furniture at the age of 15 and understood what quality furniture is. It is the Verbarg’s goal to offer the finest furniture at the best prices.

Business Owner

Harold started making furniture at the age of 15 when he worked for W.B. Meier. He was a business student from University of Cincinnati but his real love was for furniture. He became the President of W.B. Meier Furniture and when that business was sold her purchased their Amelia store in 1978. He opened a second location in Sharonville but relocated to the present Kenwood location in 1996 — coincidentally the original W.B. Meier store. Harold is semi retired but still plays a major part in the business with his wife Shirley and their five daughters Linda, Gail, Jenny, Debbie, and Sheri.
