The Art Institute of Ohio-Cincinnati

I’m an alum of this place. Class of 2006. Went here before they got their own building. If you can manage it, avoid this school. I learned more from my two years of vocational school in the design field than I did from the educators here.
I knew more than some of the teachers they had on staff. Our color theory class was pretty much showing people how to mix colors… Because you don’t need to have ANY art background to go here. Just give them money and they’ll give you a degree.
I’m stuck with a ridiculous student loan I’ll be paying on for the rest of my life. If I had known what I know now, I would have contacted a lawyer about paying for this subpar, useless education… Or avoided the school and went to UC.
Just had a friend «graduate» from here with their culinary program… Nothing has changed. They tried screwing her any way they could to keep her there longer and get more money.

This place is a 12 hour drive and $ 75 on gas round trip from my house. I got to the school and the councilor told me he wouldnt give me a tour unless i applied. So i coughed up the $ 50 dollars (1^st red flag). Then i found out that intuition per year is $ 84,000 for animation. That is a ridiculous sum of money for 1 freaking year.(2^nd red flag) Even still, i got a lot of paperwork together. All i had to do was send in the essay. My instincts was screaming at me not to go. I dont have a car or job out that far. So i called back and told my councilor that i’d apply the next year. Can you believe he told me «You wasted my time»?! The nerve of that 4characters bleeper! I spend my time and money to see what they have to offer and i wasted THEIR time. 3strikes and im as glad a payday on friday with sunshine & blue skys. Im so glad that I didnt go. :)

I am unfortunately an Alum of this place. I don’t recommend it to anybody. I picked it because of the program available was what I was looking for at the time & 15 min from where I lived. I feel like I didn’t do enough research on this place & didn’t know what I was signing up for. This place is a For-​Profit college. Meaning basically a corporation aka degree mill. Low quality education that is over priced. Very low graduation rate & good reason for that. Place was being audited by law firm, I know that for a fact. I hope this school is found out for the scam it is & the other victims and myself get justice. Do NOT go here because you will regret it.
