SpringHill Suites Cincinnati Midtown

The hotel is a very nice one indeed. I much enjoyed my stay. My only problem is that the staff is oblivious to all guests. I walked in the door various times and never got a «Hello» or a «Good Morning». With four staff members staffing the desk I would much appreciate at least a nod of the head and maybe if I’m lucky a greeting. I have stayed at hotels not even close to as nice as this one and have gotten a hello every time I have walked in the door. It is a professional establishment and they should at least treat their guests with respect.

Why didn’t anyone mention how loud this place is? It’s between fourteen different freeways, so you’ll be listening to traffic all night. Throw in the exorbitant pricing, the disinterested staff, the extortion level parking surcharge, the frightening pool with its questionable chemical levels, and the ‘cattle call’ breakfast layout (bring your elbow pads) and this place was pretty terrible. Stay here if you have to and don’t have any other options.

Guest service deserves a D– 1. Noise and physical mayhem between 1 am and 3 am. The front desk was not in control of the facility. 2. Staff enjoying a leisurely breakfast, chatting, texting, trolling, and standing in the breakfast line ahead of guests whilst other guests were standing at the front desk. The staff should be staffing. 3. TV remote did not work and the front desk had no clue how to fix it. Service and comfort were lost on account of a remote. I sent similar sentiments to the Marriott customer service. Their response: «So sorry, we let them know, but give us 3 to 5 business days.»

The front desk staff, housekeeping staff and breakfast staff are very warm and friendly. We stay here often because of that; it feels like we have friends in Cincy at this hotel. There is a chronic problem with the cleanliness and getting the housekeeping services to the room. Honestly, the cleanliness was worse than ever. We may have to shop around next time and avoid Marriott hotels for awhile.

Rooms are clean but aren’t very sound proof as we could hear the kids in the room across the hall. The hotel is in a great location, 10 minutes to downtown and Newport KY. The staff was very friendly as well. The free breakfast consists of cold cereals, scrambled eggs, sausage, and a variety of fruits and breads. The major gripe I have is the $ 8.00 charge for parking. They shouldn’t assess this charge as they’re not located downtown and the parking lot and parking garage were only about 20% filled so the demand isn’t there.

Clean hotel. Seems like it is in a slighty sketchy area – I wasn’t really familiar with this area of Cincinnati. The check in staff were courteous.
The breakfast was your standard SpringHill Suites fare. I shouldn’t complain. It was VERY busy. This isn’t the fault of the hotel. It was hard to find a place to sit and the food needed restocking – the staff was working on it but I think they had trouble keeping up.
We would stay here again. It’s fine.

When in Cincinnati I often have to split time between the university area and downtown, and SpringHill is the only decent-​quality hotel conveniently located between both areas (and priced about 30% lower than than similar hotels in each of those areas!). There isn’t much that stands out about the property itself: it’s a standard 3* establishment, clean and comfortable with a serviceable gym, good wifi, and a decent breakfast (but with neither waffles nor pancakes, which is always disappointing).

Staff was friendly. There are no restaurants near the hotel and the front desk staff gave me wrong directions to the area where are restaurants. The breakfast is fairly typical for most hotels that are offering bare bones breakfasts. The food was hot where it should be hot and cold where it should cold, so that was a good thing. The supply was replaced frequently. The bar area has minimal cocktails and beer and wine in the evening at reasonable costs. The bartender was not very friendly but he made a good cocktail.
While the price is nice and the hotel is clean, it feels extremely removed from just about everything. While it’s just a 5 – 7 minute drive downtown, there isn’t much you can walk to nearby. Luckily, the hotel does the best they can with this by selling frozen dinners and snacks in the lobby’s «market» but after a long day of traveling, it’s a disappointing option.
The rooms are pretty standard if you’ve stayed at any other Springhill Suites in the past. The rooms have a nice little lounge and workspace area that is slightly separated from the space where the bed and tv are. There was also a microwave (convenient for those frozen dinners), a mini fridge and coffee maker

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at SpringHill but I’m giving them just three stars because there was a confusion with
. I’d booked the hotel before heading to Cincinnati, but somehow the hotel never got the reservation. We (and by mean, I mean my parents), had to sit for HOURS as they figured it out. Long story short, they just booked us another room. Honestly, they should have managed to figure out how to get us in a room and then worked it out with
. We ended up having to call ourselves multiple times (despite having all the documentation and paperwork about our reservation) and then sat at the bar while things were figured out.
I honestly don’t see how they could have at least accommodated us until they figured it out. It was very stressful and inconvenient.
Other than that, the breakfast was good, the location is great and it’s right off the highway. Nothing else is near it, but that was fine by us because we were planning to drive anyway.

Good place to stay while traveling for work. Positive note that the restaurant opens at 6:00 am, which is earlier than most properties. Just wish they had more food choices near the property.

Only stayed one night but very pleased with my experience! Close to everything, short taxi rides to anything downtown, and was perfectly priced. The rooms were huge and having the toilet and shower in separate rooms was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast in the morning wasn’t anything amazing but for continental breakfast spreads it was better than most. It says it is $ 8 a day to park but during the weekend there wasn’t a fee at all. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

First of all, the staff here is absolutely fabulous. Each employee that I interacted with was warm, friendly, engaging and extremely helpful. In fact, in this sense you can’t get much better.

My one main complaint is that every morning room service would knock on my door around 8am, which seems pretty early and threw me off each time. I would then put the Do Not Disturb sign out, and remove it when I left for the day, but no one would return to clean after that. Each day this is how it went, so I think you probably need to notify someone if you leave the room after initial sweep.
Overall, it’s a decent choice but I would not recommend staying here if you do not have a car at your access.

Have you ever driven by someplace so many times, that you are intrigued to go in and visit? Well, that was us and yes we did. We drive North on I-​71 towards Rookwood many times and each time I notice the bar at Springhill Suites that is visible from the highway. .
We stopped in just for the heck of it — why not! The hotel is very clean and the Lobby /​Bar area is very modern and sheek with netting draping across the seating are (kind of like a private little hideaway). We bellied up at the bar and had a very fun time with Pete the bartender.
The next time you are coming from downtown towards Rookwood on I-​71 North, look over to the right and watch for the hotel and you will see the bar!!! Stop in and enjoy a cocktail and chat with Pete.

I’ve stayed here twice in the last month, when I was visiting Cincinnati for work. This hotel is brand new and very stylish. The lobby and the rooms have a retro-​feel and nice layout.
The room’s shower/​washing table and toilet are in separate areas, which can come in handy when you’re staying with more than one person. The rooms are large enough to house two beds, a desk, a living toom setting and a refridgerator/​coffeemaker, microwave area.
Because of the décor in the room it doesn’t completely feel like a hotel.
Wifi is complimentary and worked great.
Parking is $ 8 a day. Breakfast is decent and the waffle maker was very popular. The bar is OK… the bar tender wishes he had more business though :-)
One of the bartenders is Pete, a nice guy with some muscles on him who is quite the conversationalist. Fun to have a beer from or with.
I have to go back to Cincinnati next month and hope to stay at the Springhill Suites again.
During our stay a water main broke right behind the hotel and we were without water for almost 24 hours. Of course this wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but next to the letter explaining the situation, I would’ve expected some sort of discount for that one day. Oh well…

When my wife and I was evaluating whether or not to relocate from Chicago to Cincinnati, the company I was looking to work for (Empower MediaMarketing) invited us to check out the city before we made a decision. They put us up for a weekend at the SpringHill Suites, and I am certainly glad they did! The rooms were clean, stylish (in a cool 60’s Steve McQueen-​meets-​Frank Sinatra vibe), and quiet.
However, it is not the accommodations that impressed us the most. It was the staff. They were friendly during our first visit and helped us clear up a billing issue promptly and professionally. Two weeks later, we returned to the same hotel having made the decision to move and now looking for a home to rent. The staff — especially Suzanne and Brandi — were amazing. Not only did they remember us from our previous visit, but they immediately remembered our situation (relocating, nervous about being new, etc.). When we returned to the hotel with news that we had found a house to rent, Suzanne and Brandi actually came over and hugged us!
It gets better. When we were checking out the next day, Suzanne rushed over to give us a little care package. It turns out that she and Brandi had created a card for us («Congratulations!») and even put together a little bag of treats for the five-​hour drive back to Chicago. When we asked her why she had done all this for us, Suzanne simply smiled and said, «You both looked like you needed someone to celebrate with.»
More than just a hotel, the staff at SpringHill Suites Midtown truly represent themselves as the best ambassadors Cincinnati has to offer! They made us feel welcome, answered all our questions, and reinforced the friendly atmosphere we found elsewhere, too. I have no doubt that had we not stayed at the SpringHill Suites, our experience as new residents would not have been quite so smooth.
