Simple Space is an event space that thinks it’s a retail space. Having a big 6×6′ window on a busy Over The Rhine cross street will do that to you.

600-​ish square feet of nothing is exactly what you need when you want to pop-​up whatever it is you pop-​up. We aren’t here to tell you what you can and can’t do with Simple Space. Except for illegal things. You can’t do illegal things in Simple Space.

Rent the space for a day, or up to 6 weeks. A perfect way to launch a brand, host a party, try out a retail concept, or hold a business meeting. As long as it’s not an illegal business meeting.

Rental agreements include utilities, internet, general liability insurance, cleaning before and after rental period, and storefront promotion. You would be responsible for furnishing, load-​in, load-​out, cleaning during rental period, and staffing during your open hours.

Simple Space is a family business, and our family wants to see you succeed while you’re popping-​up.

History

Established in 2014.

Started by Heather and Levi Bethune as a way to utilize the bottom floor of their Over The Rhine home renovation, Simple Space exists to provide a platform for people to launch an idea, event, product, or brand in a physical space. The idea was born when Levi wanted a place to invite brands and artists he wanted to support. When they found the building they wanted to live in, and it had an empty retail space, that idea started to become reality.

A crowdfunding campaign run in the fall of 2014-​while unsuccessful in reaching its funding goal-​was the perfect way to test the concept and gauge interest. The calendar started filling up right away with several vendors not willing to wait until launch, they popped-​up in a raw, unfinished space.

Simple Space is now accepting rental registration through their website.

Business Owner

Levi runs Simple Space with his wife, Heather. They moved to Cincinnati in 2012 and live above Simple Space in Over The Rhine with their 4 kids. Their favorite family adventures are visiting the many museums throughout the city, attending Reds games, and inviting friends over for dinner and family movie nights.
