NOON Saturday and they were SOLDOUT of my beloved Chibatta Bread… so light & airy and delicious… Bill suggested I travel to PIPKINS in Blue Ash(since I live reasonably close) as he just delivered some earlier that morning… Happy, Happy… The had it. Bought 2 since if wrapped tightly in plastic wrap, it freezes well… I place a sheet of wax paper every 4 slices for easy separation for multiple enjoyment so over a couple weeks. FoodieQ

I love this place! I mean if you’re looking for fresh bread and pastries in OTR, this is the spot to be! Make sure to get there early, otherwise you’ll miss out on the best cookies in the world! It’s like an oatmeal peanut butter with raisins sometimes, usually with m&ms or chocolate chips. They’re the best. If you miss them, you can always put an order in, and they’ll make a batch specifically for you. They’ll do that for any products they serve. You also need to try the focaccia s! I sometimes make a lunch out of eating just those. One thing to note, if you use credit card, they have a charge of like $ 0.50 or so. No big deal really because their prices are so low already.

Shadeau has a great selection of bread, freshly baked pastries and seasonal delicacies. I highly recommend the chocolate croissants and rosemary olive sourdough bread.

Shadeau has everything you look for in a business, friendly staff, good prices, and great products. I plan my morning sometimes just to make sure that I can make it by here well they still have my favorite breakfast pastries. Just do yourself a favor and try something you’ve never had before, they make a diverse selection and I have never been disappointed with something new from their Bakery.

I love it still. Always a fun excursion and this time I took my 13 year old daughter for the early AM bread line. Tried out some pastries too and they were great! Almond paste one was pretty darn good!

Delicious, fresh breads! Get there early for the best selection. Slim, but still tasty pickings by the afternoon. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. They always make my little ones feel special when we stop in.

You can’t go wrong with anything you order here. Bill is the absolute genius of baking. The multigrain and salt rye loaves are wonderful. Baguettes are perfection. And the pastries — chocolate croissants, cheese pockets, blueberry and raspberry cheese danishes and more, but in my opinion, the almond bear claw is the best. Lots of almond filling, flaky crust… mmmmm! There are bagels(plain, sesame, poppy, everything, and they just added cinnamon and raisin) and bialys every Friday. They are the perfect size and are delicious.

So I have been craving a really good fresh cinnamon roll or something of that nature and did not want to Panera bread or anything like that. I googled bakeries and this one popped up. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. W hat I liked is that they open right at 6 which was great, which I was on my way to work. I bought the pecan roll and the bear claw. I try not to hype myself up but when I tried the pecan roll it was out of this world. It was fresh and still gooey and had enough pecan and raisins in every bite. The bear claw was also delicious. I will definitely go back because there is other baked goods I wanted to try. The man helping me says the focaccia bread is amazing. Have to come back to try that.

Only reviewing the bread and the coffee, both of which were fantastic: Came through one Saturday around noon and had wonderful service from the two gentlemen working there. Sampled a few types of bread, sweets and savory(Cinnamon raisin bread was amazing). The loaves were good size and would be sound purchases for a family or someone who can eat it while fresh, as a single man who doesn’t eat a lot of carbs I was better served buying it by the slice! Most impressive though, which I bought two pieces of — the Foaccia«pizza», olive oil, cheese, tomatoes, and basil. Was one of the single best things I’ve eaten in a long time, extremely tasty and complex without being too oily. Was $ 2 for a piece, but the price is well worth it.

If you haven’t had their breads you’re missing out! Where I work we use the bread for sandwiches and toast and it’s so yummy! Keep up the good work!

I make my own bread at home regularly, and I’m pretty good at it, so it takes something really special to get me to buy from a bakery. They serve Shadeau breads all around town, but you can go get your own on Main street. Delicious! We really like a bread with a name that means«root» because it is sortof twisted. They told us all about it: 24-hour ferment for deeper flavor. I like to do that when I make bread at home, too, but it doesn’t always fit into my schedule, so having this bakery around is great! They offer to slice it for you – but you should say no, because bread this good shouldn’t be tampered with until you eat it! Got a raspberry danish this morning to share with my co-workers and they say it is great. Parking: We pull up right in front in the morning: there is usually space to park on the street and dash in for your purchase. Drive north from Central Parkway on Main: it’s a one-way street. Go in the morning! They’re a bakery, so everything is baked that morning and it’s first come, first served.

They serve these at 1215 coffee and wine bar and let me tell you — it’s a must to get a bear claw with my cappuccino! So delicious, full of almond goodness and buttery. Yum! Their baguettes are great, too!

Bread used to be merely a vehicle to carry goodies into my mouth. No longer.

What a great way to start your day! Stopped in on the way to work and found a parking spot right in front of the door. I ordered a coffee, a cheese pocket for breakfast and, impulsively, a savory focaccia/pizza square for lunch later in the day. The pastry was delicate and delicious! It had a croissant crust and was filled with a ricotta– baked to perfection. The focaccia was baked with bleu cheese and sesame seeds. Yum– I will certainly be back here!

Heavenly pastries at an affordable price. I had the almond bear claw and it was simply one of the best pastries I’ve ever had. My friend’s cinnamon pecan roll was also out of this world. We also tried the lemon poppy seed cake, and again, another joy to have. It was great to find a traditional bakery that baked its products each day. With the abundance of chains such as Au Bön Pain and Starbucks, a bakery such as Shadeau was even more of a gem in the heart of a city.

So good, so good. I forget too often that Shadeau is there(plus the hours are hard for me to get to), but I never regret buying a loaf. or two. or three. when I go. Everything is fresh and delicious. There are breakfast breads and pastries, as well. Great pricing for amazing fresh bread– worth the trip over in the morning to pick some up. Plus, nothing like getting a fresh baguette wrapped in brown paper.

There is only one good reason to wake up at 7:30am on a Saturday: Shadeau Breads. I don’t know at around what time they start selling out, but I don’t want to find out. Good bread waits for no man or woman. Got the rosemary olive oil baguette. Fantastic. Before today I had been mind blown by Kroger’s rosemary olive oil loaf(which is still very good, by the way), but now I am happily munching on the freshest and tastiest rosemary olive oil bread to the tune of «A Whole New World.» It’s even got bits of olives in it! Spread on some cream cheese and dijon mustard, top with smoked salmon and voila: happiness in two bites. And again, nothing beats the almond bear claw. Blue Oven has a delicious almond croissant, but Shadeau’s bear claw is so generous with its almond filling! Also I don’t you get a better bang for your buck – breads here are as good as it gets and quite affordable at about $ 3 – 4 a loaf. Tip(which I never follow because I’m always cash-less): Pay with cash and save 40 cents!

As I sit here unbuttoning the top button on my jeans and sighing, I don’t regret it at all. THISPLACEISAMAZING! What we got: — Bear Claw with Almond Crème(see picture OMG) — Their take on pizza: Freshly baked Focaccia bread smothered with garlic and olive oil, cheese, tomatoes, and basil. What I thought: UHMM. *BLANKSTARE* What just happened? My mother, who is a chef, always told me growing up simple food done right is some of the best food you will ever eat. Well I am here to tell you the blood sweat and tears you coming out of this bakery at 2 am is something that cannot be replaced. The food here is simple flavors executed to perfection. The freshness when they open up that pastry case is incredible! I couldn’t choose between savory and sweet so I am lucky I got a chance to try both. The bear claw was soft and melty with a nice flaky crust, and the almond crème was the best filling I have ever had. It was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Their take on pizza is genius! I don’t like sauce so replacing that with olive oil and garlic was right up my alley. The focaccia was soft and fluffy and sooooo fresh! The ingredients just melted into the freshly baked bread and made a great little crust on top. The crusty salty parmesan baked on top was a nice finish and the basil was a great herby fragrance to round it all out. As I was walking out the very friendly woman behind the desk said one thing to me: «We make schnecken on Saturday mornings but its usually gone by 9am! Get here early, or call and order ahead.» Welp, I guess I know where I will be next Saturday morning…

Baguettes, Danishes, cinnamon rolls, focaccia! It’s all soooooo good. A couple highlights are the potato focaccia(crack and egg on it and throw it under the broiler) and the Godzilla rolls(only on Saturday). It’s also worth mentioning they do some outside the box baked goods. I had a cardamom cinnamon roll last week that was incredible! I cannot sum up my excitement to walk here at least 3 times a week for a wonderful breakfast treat. I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of the baked goods. Stop in a try something. Pro tip: grab a pastry and swing through Collective Espresso for the neighborhoods best quick breakfast. Like whoa.

I feel like I’m in a cartoon going into Shadeau bread — as if the smell wafting out of the small shop in OtR is causing me to float in, nose first, a dreamy look across my face. Maybe I’m licking my lips and making an «mmm» noise — it’s quite possible. This is the best bread in Cincinnati — no question, hands down, case closed. They’re big, flavorful with the perfect amount of crunch on the outside crust and soft fluff in the inside. No matter what kind of bread you get, you’re going to be happy. Even if they created a new type of bread called unhappy bread, you’d still be happy with it. You might miss their shop in OtR, as it’s a tiny door tucked away on Main. Or you might look at the store sign, full of Egyptian pictures and hieroglyphics, shake your head and walk by. Do not! Please, enter. Even if you don’t want to buy anything, the smell alone will brighten your day. Seriously, is there any better smell than fresh baking bread? I think not. They also have a great selection of early morning breakfast pastries — danishes and crawlers and other things I probably shouldn’t be eating as a diabetic. But I do anyway, because they’re just so good. My one and ONLY complaint is they’re never open when I want them to be. The door might be ajar, but they’re probably just baking and need to let out heat. So not fair, Shadeau Bread, that only intensifies your bread baking smell ten fold — so very evil of you. Luckily, stores across the area sell their bread, so if I really need my fix, I’m good. And trust me, I need me Shadeau fix.
