Went to this place with my sis, and the fish & shrimp were AWESOME!!! Along w/the speedy service and pleasant atmosphere. It’s a Mom & Pops, and the employees are very kind. The cheddar potato soup tops Paneras, as Panera has now started to water theirs down anymore. Oh, and the desserts… YUMMO! I live near here, but would definitely travel here if I lived across town. Love you Red Squirrel!!! I’ll be back :)

This is by far my favorite Red Squirrel across Greater Cincinnati. I’ve never had bad service, bad food not even a bad cup of coffee at this restaurant. Drinkery one of my favorite Cincinnati hometown staples.

This place is usually good but today our waitress was practically non-existent, food was good but took a while to get it. The entertainment was the guy that was the host a Wise Guy wannabe. When someone would come in, he would just point to an area, «there is a place there». He would just point whenever an employee would ask a question… Point. I am thinking he was the son of one of the owners, so he really did not have to do anything. This local needs help Needs someone to clean tables better than a Wise Guy Or he was a mime…

Oh the nostalgia that this place gives me… I’ve been going to Red Squirrel for years, particularly with my grandfather who always enjoys this place. Most recently, I went for breakfast with my mother and this was my first time eating here in a while, maybe even years. The atmosphere hasn’t changed at all. The paint looked the same, the chairs, the layout, the kitchen, etc. all the same. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it kind of is what it is. Old school diner at it’s best. While the ambiance may be a little off putting for some, their food is delicious. Again, it’s diner-style food, basic but tasty. For breakfast we had the«hippie hash»(yes, that’s what it’s called) and it was amazing! This consisted of breakfast potatoes, peppers, onions and cheese. Boy was it yummy and the best thing about it was that it only cost us $ 6 a piece! Great food for a cheap price with friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere. If you’re good with that, then you’ll be good with Red Squirrel.

Great food, decent prices, good service! It’s what you’d expect from a diner type place! My fav is the egg and ham double decker!

This place needs management. There 10⁄27 at 6pm left 7pm never received food. Ordered two of their dinner specials. At 6:30 informed by waitress one of them was no longer available. Ordered a grilled cheese instead of special. 7pm waitress says the special is coming up and they are making grilled cheese. We had enough paid for drinks and left.

Decent at best. Service was very slow. When our food finally came we asked for utensils, server came back with forks after running food to two other tables near us(who also asked for forks). She practically threw them at us then mumbled something about trying to find knives. We went ahead and used our forks to put the jelly on our now cold toast as the knives never came. We asked for no lemon for our tea yet there were lemons submerged in the tea(that grosses me out). Our drinks were empty and we had to ask for refills. The food was mediocre. I really only liked my toast but it’s kind of hard to mess up toast. I did complain about my food to the server and for the rest of the time there she was very rude. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I doubt we’ll go back. Bummer.

The food was good. The ambience is OK. It is a classic old school diner. It is very cheap so a good place if you are on a budget. The place is nice, but not my first choice for food. It is worth a try though to see if it appeals to you. I really want to give the place 3.5 Stars because it is a fine place but Unilocal doesn’t allow half stars. I just can’t give it 4 stars or all of my reviews would be too high and not really differentiate one place from another.

The food and service are very good. The staff know me by name. The only issue is that they have raised prices twice this year.

If you’re a big eater, you’ll live the amount of food you get no matter what you order… Good place to eat…

If i could give ½ star a would! I would not recommend dealing with this“family owned” «chain» very poor business ethics!!! other businesses should run for the hills. before doing business with them.

Have to go here whenever I’m home to visit mom and dad. My usual is the Goetta and cheese omelet with homefries. For lunch, go with turkey and American on rye. Yum!

When the power was out in the area after Hurricane Ike came through, I took my daughter to Red Squirrel. Love their Mushroom and Swiss Burgers, Our family favorite has been their Goetta and Cheese Omelets with Hash Browns. Get the onions with the potatoes. If you go during the week, say hi to the mother-daughter team of Ramona and Samantha, who live to serve!

Where home cooked meal meets affordable price. This is your local neighborhood diner. You will find quick service with a smile and good solid food. Today, I had the stuffed green peppers. Reminded me of what my mom would have made. On a cool Fall day, this was just what I was looking for. The kids meals are great, too. The kids mac n’ cheese came in a cute dinosaur bowl, which kept the food piping hot. Forget the crayons and paper… the food comes so quickly, you’ll be putting the crayons away as soon as you get them out because your food will be served on the table that quickly. There is a party room in the back for larger parties and they also do sandwich trays, which are great for Football parties and any other holiday get together.
