You can not say anything bad about the beautiful architecture of the building. The staff is helpful and friendly. While we have an amazing library system the move to the new location was terrible for the neighborhood of Clifton Gaslight. The small corner library was the life blood of the neighborhood. You would see folks of all walks of life in the quaint location. I ran into my neighbors and saw the local Clifton character arguing about politics. It felt alive. The empty space left by this move was a big blow for local businesses and the neighborhood. This new location is off the beaten path. It seems quiet– lonely and isolated inside and out. Some of the layout is poor and confusing. While I usually just order books online and pick up in the reserve shelves the movies are in a cramped space and hard to look at due to the glare from the window.

This branch moved into a newly-renovated mansion on Brookline avenue. Who wouldn’t love the ambiance of reading in a hundred-year old building with fun study nooks? This place really hits the mark on saving a city gem, while creating a unique library space. The wifi is super fast, area clean, staff helpful. Thank you to whomever was a part of putting this project together.
