Post Office

Great spot smack dab in the middle of downtown and in the middle of a building/​shopping center. I had to ask someone to direct me even though I had the address and general idea of the location. The line moved quickly and the guy that weighed my mail was friendly and efficient. So, if you are needing to mail something, read Paige’s directions and you’ll be there in no time.

Love this location, so convenient. They close early, but staff is always helpful and I always find some cute stationary or cool stamps there.

For a post office this one is very nice and clean. It’s a bit hard to find though as it’s in an office building /​mall in a passage across from Macy’s entrance. The only marking is a sidewalk sign by the revolving door. Otherwise it’s nicely appointed.

I have been to this post office at least 5 times and the service has always been great: always with a smile and efficient. One of the ladies even remembers my baby’s name, very cute!
Otherwise it’s just a normal post office I guess…

I personally love the USPS and prefer to use them over FedEx and UPS. Gotta support the original way to send things snail mail! :)
In terms of this specific location, it’s definitely a hidden gem. It’s not particularly hard to find — just enter through the doors on Vine, up the escalator, and you’ll see it as you emerge into the open hallway — and the two ladies that always greet me whenever I show up are the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. I’m sure they deal with the least patient patrons since parking is such a pain around there and the majority of people that stop by are likely on their lunch break or way home, but if you smile and have a friendly chat, they’re ridiculously nice.
The only reason I wouldn’t give this place 5 stars is that it’s incredibly hard to use this location if you’re not walking. What if you have a large package? You still have to carry it a block or two just to ship something.
Anyway, if you need mail something, this is the place to go!

I find it quite amusing that the previous reviews all included frustration on where to find this illusive post office, but offered no tips on how to actually get there!

525 Vine Street is located across from Fountain Square inside the Key Bank Building aka The 525 Center aka Macy’s Department Store (not to be confused with the giant Macy’s skyscraper down the street.)
— Look for the Palomino sign on Vine Street. Enter through the doorway underneath the sign.
— Take the escalator to the second floor, towards Macy’s.
— Turn right in the foyer. Go through the doorway on the glass wall.
Eureka! Across the hallway is the post office!
Downtown Post Office offers everything from P.O. Boxes to passport services and anything else for your mailing needs. The staff here was kind and moved fast. Once you locate the place, you’ll easily find your way back time after time.
And now, the other big question: «Why is the Downtown Post Office tucked away inside a vacant corridor?»
Cincinnati’s convention center used to be located in this building long before Duke Energy Center was built (hence the name 525 Center). Once a place of bustling commerce, I suppose we forgot to move the post office while switching around other structures. It’s still centrally located to the Business District, which may explain why it has stayed put in an otherwise desolate area.

I usually avoid this post office on my lunch break, as there has usually been quite the line. This last time however, there was only one person in front of me. I was rather impressed with how fast the service has always been at this location, especially since I usually have to go to the counter to find out what forms I need to fill out before going back and actually shipping something. The staff have always been very patient with me.
I agree with the previous reviewer that the location can be a bit hard to find. I’m sure the location made much more sense when Cincinnati liked their Skywalk, but now it’s a bit of a hidden treasure. It even took me a while to realize which Post Office it was on Unilocal

I needed to mail a postcard to my niece when I was in downtown C. (I don’t care that my niece is only 32 days old. She enjoys receiving postcards from Aunt Mary.) I found this through an employee at Walgreens. It should have taken me two minutes to walk here. Instead, it took me almost a half hour. It took me so long to find this place that my man actually thought I was in the hotel lobby pooping the entire time. I was not pooping! I was trying to find this damn post office. He still does not believe me. Anyway, I walked through Macy’s, asked fourteen employees and finally found this heavenly delight of a post office. The woman working behind the counter was probably the nicest postal employee ever. I bet she calls her husband a mother fucker when she goes home but she sure is lovely when waiting on customers. Five stars for her. I imagine her name to be Debbie or Charlene. Be prepared to get accused of pooping if you attempt to find this place. When you find it (ask LOTS of people. It is confusing.), please be nice to Charlene. She’s pretty awesome.

I had to mail something out about a month ago and checked USPS’ website for their nearest location to me. 525 Vine Street? Seriously? I’ve been downtown on Vine Street many times and I’ve never seen a post office there in my life, but if you say so.
So there I am, standing on Vine Street, looking so confused. There’s 523 Vine Street to my left, 527 Vine Street to my right, but no post office in-​between. Just a giant office building with business men scurrying through. It was a Potter at the train station moment and I had a choice to make: Do I run through the 9 & ¾ wall to find my way to Hogwarts or go home and live a sad Muggle Life.
HOGWARTS, DAMMIT! I push open the door and enter the building and find myself in a giant foyer with escalators in front of me. I press on, and go up to level two. I find … another foyer. Dammit! But I am not to be defeated, I’m going to learn the magical ways if it kills me. I go through the foyer and around a glass wall and there lies … THE POST OFFICE! It was the most beautiful site I’d ever seen.
It’s basically like every other post office. You get in line at one end, until they call you to the counter where you send off your package … not by owl though, unfortunately. You can also buy envelopes and boxes and stamps and such. The employees are like all post office employees I’ve found: some are them most cheerful, friendly people in the world, others seem like they’re about attack and suck out your soul. Worse than any Dementors! Worse than the Dark Lord Voldemort himself! They turn my blood to ice and make me cry.
I’ve now used this post office a few times and every time, feel so clever walking through those doors. And don’t worry, if I see you standing there, package in hand, with a confused look on your face, I’ll point out where to go. We wizards have to stick together, after all.
