Pet Spot

First off, The Pet Spot won’t even consider your dog if it’s a pitbull mix, no matter the disposition of your dog and I feel that’s just wrong. They’re not nice about it either. They can be firm and not rude, but they choose to be just rude about it. Furthermore, I was shocked to see the police there serving a high ranking employee with a stay away order. I think I am lucky they wouldn’t take my dog after seeing that. I suggest you look elsewhere. After further research I’ve found out several animals have gotten sick here. Dodged a bullet and you should too.

I wanted to write an update from my previous review because it has been two days now since I picked my dog up from a long weekend at Pet Spot and she has had bad diarrhea since. She woke me up every hour on the hour last night to go outside and poop (pure liquid stool). I just got back from the vet and $ 105 later for the visit and medication I am hoping that she will start to feel better.
Basically my poor decision to leave my dog at Pet Spot has put more stress on my dog than I could have imagined and cost me $ 105 more than I had anticipated. So save yourself the trouble and take that $ 105 extra that you are going to waste on a vet visit and take your dog somewhere better than Pet Spot. Pet Spot turned out to be a nightmare and I hope that I can save some other people the trouble of wasting their time and money there. I am not sure where all of the good reviews for this place are coming from but please do not be mislead!!! You will absolutely regret taking your pet here!!! Please spend a little more money or drive a little further and take your pet somewhere where they will be properly cared for!

After I filled out my dogs profiles and submitted record information, they told me to bring my dog in. I have an American Bull Dog Pitbull Mix who is a gentle giant and is very docile and submissive. He is a big baby and on that day, he was scared of all the commotion and sat on his butt at the entrance and I had to push him in. The owner came over (who wasnt helping me before) and told me my dog couldnt be there and kept repeating «pitbull» over and over… it was very sad. Breed stereotyping is not okay! I cried the whole way home because of someones ignorance.
Needless to say the next day I took him to West Chester Dog Spa and Day Care where he was loved and adored and came home with a great report that he played well with all size dogs and was a big sweetie!
Will never recommend the pet spot to anyone!

The staff cares a lot about the dogs and customer service is top notch. Our dog Benny always has a great time playing with the other dogs.

They always do a great job with our pets. We just boarded our dog for the weekend. When we saw how clean and shiny he was after their grooming service, we were as excited to see him as he was to see us. Their staff is friendly and take great care of our pup.

I have been a loyal customer of The Pet Spot since they opened. Jeff and The Pet Spot team always welcome my dogs (a #70 Lab and #90 Lab-​mix) by name and the pups pull at their leashes to get into the daycare door! My Lab is scared to death of people, but LOVES her time at The Pet Spot. Whether for boarding or daycare, you can’t go wrong with trusting your furry family members to the love and care The Pet Spot offers.

It’s always hard to give five stars, but when my dog is treated well and has a trusted place to go when we’re away or when he needs a day at doggie daycare, five stars is warranted.
Franklin has now been twice: once for boarding (plus doggie daycare — since it was his first visit, I went all out) and once for daycare. Both times he was sufficiently cared for and seemed to have a lot of fun. Reservations are necessary for boarding (starts at $ 26/​night), but not for daycare (open 7am to 7pm). It is also worth noting that, if you’re an obsessed dog parent like I am, there is an app where you can watch your dog (s) on camera (ODoggy) while s/​he plays.
Whenever I try someplace new, I typically have a ton of questions. Everyone I’ve spoken to has been really friendly, helpful, and patient, and the place is very clean. The Pet Spot is conveniently located, and my dog even got his nails trimmed during a recent visit (something he won’t let me do). I can’t say enough good things about Pet Spot, but the most important is the fact that I can have peace of mind knowing Franklin is being well cared for while he’s there.

Don’t risk your dog’s health here!
I just boarded my two dogs. One is hospitalized with vomiting and a 106 degree fever. He may or may not live. The other has a runny nose, lower fever and malaise. He is being treated at home after a visit to vet.
I called to alert them to sanitize the areas where my dogs were. I was put through to the owners phone and left a message. I have not received a return phone call.
I posted a review on the pet spot website, but my negative review has not been posted.
Update:
I did receive a phone call the next day about my dog. He apologized that the staff did not contact him immediately with my concerns. He assured me that the areas are well sanitized daily. He also said my dogs were the only ones sick. Both are dogs did survive, but are still sluggish, on medication and special diets for 10 days.

I am a new customer to PetSpot and I am extremely disappointed. I was recommended to take my 8 month chocolate lab Reese here by several co-​workers and friends. I was thrilled to hear such great things so I decided to take advantage of the $ 85 Groupon which included the temperament test, two grooming’s and 10 daycare visits.
After purchasing the Groupon we were excited to try it out, I was amazed by how clean and welcoming the space was when walking in. Everyone was so friendly and I felt great about leaving my pup here. Reese seemed to love it, was so worn out after me picking her up and I felt really good about the purchase.
A little about my pup. I am aware she is a puppy and just like humans can get viruses and can pick up things quicker than older dogs because her immunity is much weaker. However, Reese has had all of her vaccines, bordetella shot, etc. She has been to parks in the warmer months, and has been to training classes with other dogs. Let’s just say PetSpot is not her first exposure to other dogs.
After her first visit to PetSpot, within 24 – 48 hours she developed a terrible cough. Of course we had to take her to our local vet and $ 62 later we were told as we expected that she had Kennel Cough. Thus she had to be away from dogs for 10 days and take her antibiotics. I gave PetSpot a call and the owner called me back the next day just saying thanks for calling and hope to see you back. I appreciated that and like I said, understand dogs get sick.
After debating on taking Reese back I decided I would give it another try. She clearly loved playing with dogs and the staff was always friendly, so I said why not lets go. Well now I am writing this as a very frustrated customer because my dog was at the PetSpot on Tuesday and was so sick this morning to where she would not eat. You know when a lab does not eat it is not a good sign. So $ 93 later find out she has a bacterial infection, where she had to get a shot to make her stomach feel better, prescribed food to help calm her upset stomach moving forward AND new antibiotics to fight the infection.
So I write this to say I am disappointed. I am disappointed that it was an $ 85 Groupon for 3 visits to Daycare but 2 visits to the vet’s office. Again I understand dogs get sick just like humans get sick. But 2 times with different scenarios and the common factor is PetSpot has prevented me from ever wanting to send my dog back. Which is extremely unfortunate because I did enjoy taking her there.
UPDATE 1÷8÷16: Jeff the General Manager gave me a call. He explained how they clean and what they clean with etc. I appreciate the follow up, but still nervous to take my pup back at this time. Hopefully moving forward we can.

After tiptoeing through the gamut of dog boarding options in Cincinnati, we ended up on the one closest to our house. Pet Spot is less than 10 minutes from Ault Park and is pretty similar to every other massive dog boarding facility around here. They don’t have staff overnight so your dog will be locked in a cage (or villa) without anyone around if something were to go wrong. They also charge a full extra day if you pick up after 11am, which seems crazy. We dropped off on Friday at 3pm and picked up on Sunday at 1pm. That sounds like two nights of boarding to me. Even at 2 nights of their small villa ($ 38 nightly) plus daycare (they charge separately if you want your dog to not sit in a cage all day too — $ 13), we would have been looking at over $ 100 for 2 nights. But they charged a full extra night because we picked up at 1pm. Doesn’t matter that she was there for less than 48 hours, they still consider it 3 nights. It makes absolutely no sense to me. This review started at 3 stars but I’m dropping it down to two because I’m still so shocked that they take advantage of customers like this. To be fair, it seems like a very clean and well kept facility and is probably a decent option if you insist on your placing your dog at one of these run of the mill puppy prisons.

and found a perfect match for our dog so now she gets to play with a hyper dalmatian all day long and doesn’t get locked in a cage for 12+ hours.

I brought my small 17 lb dog in to get her nails trimmed. When I came in the woman who was at the desk was annoyed that I was even speaking to her. When she went to go find a groomer she was not happy. When the groomer came out she stunk of cigarette smoke. When I asked if I could come back with her she said «dogs usually become more anxious when their owners come back», okay I can understand that, but the «groomer» knew nothing about my dog and my dogs timidness made me nervous. She never asked what my dogs name was and would not use the harness that was on her, or her leash. She insisted on using their leash wrapped around my dogs neck. Once I see where she was trying to walk (drag) my small dog toward, a room that had at least 6 dogs that were around 50 pounds jumping at the windows and on the door, I immediately said no, we are going somewhere else.
They did not try to help the situation, or clear the dogs out of the room we we’re headed, they didn’t say a word as I struggled to take the tightly wrapped leash off of her neck.

I am a regular patron of the Per Spot for grooming, day care, and boarding. I’m almost always extremely pleased with the service and how my dog is treated there. The groomers are professionals and almost always perfectly trim my wheaten terrier. My pup is always over-​the-​moon excited to get inside when we arrive, and she’s always calm when I pick her up.
Every once in a while, I’ll get someone on the phone who is a bit short, but it’s relatively rare. Most often, people I speak to are very friendly and professional. That in itself isn’t the reason I downgraded my rating to four stars.
There was one time I brought my dog in for a drop-​off bath appointment. They put her into daycare when they were finished (actually a nice perk). However, something happened after her bath that soaked her legs and belly in urine. The staff should have recognized this and bathed her again, but left me believing it was just water. The stench the next day indicated that it had been, in fact, urine. That wasn’t a good experience.
That said, I’m still very happy with the services and would recommend my friends bring their dogs here as well.

Loved the staff. Got nicest room they had, but it was a barren, cold, prison-​type room. Dog got kennel cough while there. The web cams were more a curse than a blessing. Watching my dog at the door at every sound in hopes of being let out was worse than not knowing… But I think this is more about kennels in general not this one in particular.

Warning! I purchased a Groupon for this location for my miniature poodle who has stayed in several different boarding facilities. As soon as we brought him back from The Pet Spot, he contracted «kennel cough.» It cost my husband and I more money at the vet then it did to board him. Please be careful at this location.

I love the Pet Spot. I have taken my dog there for both daycare and boarding and have never had a bad experience. They always report on how he does and they are extremely friendly. As a bonus, they will trim your dog’s nails (no charge) and bathe him (extra charge unless your dog is staying over 5 nights) while he’s there. The last time I boarded him there, they upgraded him to one of their villas because they ran out of the others at no charge to me, which was a pleasant treat. When I took my dog to another place, they told me I should buy the individual play time and not daycare with the other dogs which led me to think they just wanted more money. My boy gets along fine with other dogs and the Pet Spot has never made me feel like I am being ripped off by trying to sell me things I don’t need. I will continue to take my dog there.

When I travel for work it is often at the last minute that I have to gidde-​up and go… thank goodness for the Pet Spot! Their care for my two canine wards is always loving and patient. My dogs love their play time, they adore the staff and I love that I can leave them and not worry! I’ve told the staff in the past that one day, I’m going into doggie day care, because it looks like so much fun being with all those new canine friends.
I also like that they pay attention to immunizations, any special diets the dogs might have, or any quirky behavior issues that owners impart to them. Our dogs health and safety is a primary concern.
To wrap up, I love the pet cameras there, so that I can watch my pups on my cell phone whenever… Trust me, it’s a great place; best of all, your dog will love it!

We take our dog there for boarding/​Day care. He loves it. He pulls as hard as he can to get in the door. He doesn’t even look back at us. Not the case when he went to another kennel, before we discovered the Pet Spot. He gets excited when we turn into the drive. He loves it there and I feel the staff love him. He goes frequently and I have never had an issue.
The staff do a great job and are very accommodating. Also in some day cares, I’m not sure how much the staff interact and watch the dogs-​I have no concerns here. We took our dog there for training in the evening many years ago and had a great experience. I feel he is well taken care of at the Pet Spot.
Also the pricing is about average for boarding/​day care. They stay up to date on making sure they have his records up to date for vaccines-​which makes me feel more comfortable.

I’ve been taking my puppy, who I refer to as Wildman Wendell because of his limitless energy, to puppy daycare for the past few months. For $ 23, I can drop him off for 12 hours (7 am — 7 pm) and he can run around and get out what energy has.
The nice thing was that before I committed to daycare, The Pet Spot requires that you do a trail day, and then they give you a report card on how your dog does. Wendell, being super friendly and total attention hog, was a-​okay, and loves every minute of it.
The staff is friendly, they treat the animals well, and are even starting to remember who Wendell is. It can get pricey going to daycare often, but I think it’s worth it on days I know I won’t be able to make it home at lunch. Or when Wen’s puppy behavior is really driving me to the edge!
I’ve even had him stay there for a few days when I went out of town. Truth be told, he seemed bummed to leave when I picked him up.

Even though I only come here once a month or so, the staff always knows me and my dog! We’ve boarded him here once, and we take him to day care periodically. He loves it, and they take good care of him. When I first walked in to gather some information, the staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I’ll keep coming back!

I have been taking my dog to the Pet Spot for boarding and for doggy day care for a while now. I chose the Pet Spot because of the good reviews online, and I’m really glad I did. I only want the best for my pup!
The Pet Spot is very clean and modern. When I went in for a tour the first time I was blown away by the facilities. They have webcams so even if you’re traveling you can watch your dog play over the internet. The daycare facilities are very nice, and they have lots of options for boarding (you can even get them a private suite if your dog is extra fancy). Make sure you ask for the tour before you drop your dog off here. They will show you around and give you a free day of day care to get your dog used to the place.
We bring our dog here for doggy daycare about once a week for socializing and to get some energy out of him (he’s a puppy so he has a LOT of energy). He always comes home completely exhausted and happy, which makes me happy. I opted to get the 10 day pass, which saved me a few bucks. Typically day care costs $ 23/​day, but if you get the 10 day pass it’s only $ 21/​day. And with the 10 day pass I get two free dog washes as well. Then all I do is go in in the morning is they punch my card and take my doggy away. It’s so easy! I also love that they will trim my dogs nails if he needs it for free. If you have the money up front I would definitely recommend buying a pass because it will save you money if you keep bringing your dog here often.
We’ve boarded our dog here before for up to a week. The cheapest boarding option is $ 26/​night plus we always add daycare during the day for an extra $ 12/​day. That way we can play and socialize all day and then just go to sleep at night. He seems to have a great time, even when we are boarding him. I’ve boarded him at other places before and they don’t play with him and he was so depressed when we took him home. He’s always happy when we take him to the Pet Spot, and he loves coming here.
I haven’t tried the grooming yet, but I plan on taking my dog to get groomed here soon. Overall, The Pet Spot is the best place to take your dog for day care or boarding. We love this place!

This is the best place to board your pets in Cincinnati, hands down. The staff is so polite and professional, the facilities are very nice and quite clean, and the prices cannot be beat for the high level of service provided.
The thing that really sets this place apart is quality, in every sense of the word. It’s very clear that everyone at The Pet Spot genuinely likes animals and enjoys taking care of/​bonding with their furry guests, which is not always the case at other businesses. They offer so many options for boarding, as well as add ons if you want your pet to have some extra attention (extra walks, playtimes, bedtime treats, daycare, etc). They also give you a report card when you pick your furry friend up.
I travel quite a bit for work, and I absolutely love knowing that I can leave my dog somewhere where she’ll be taken care of and doted on as much as if I’d left her with a family member.

My dog Monkie and I are really giddy about our first experience at The Pet Spot. I am a recent LA transplant and I don’t have kids yet so you can imagine that, as far as I’m concerned, Monkie should live an even better life than I do. The Pet Spot was the perfect camp-​retreat for this dog while I went off skiing this past weekend. One of my favorite things was watching Monkie play in daycare during my every hot chocolate break via the ODoggy mobile app. The app allows you to spy on pretty much every area of the facility which is fun in a snoopy kinda way. They change around the playground equipment every day to change things up for the pups. They accommodate the neurotic over-​protective pet owner in every possible way — I could bring her own bed, blankets and toys. They ask all the right questions and she even got a Buckeye themed room which made Monkie’s doggy-​daddy happy. All in all we had a great experience with The Pet Spot and you can be sure we’ll be back.

I have been taking my dogs to The Pet Spot for kenneling, occasional doggie day care, and dog training for probably around 8 years — as long as they have been at this current location — I first visited during their first week of operation at this location. The staff is absolutely A-​MAZING and the owners are wonderful, upstanding people. I wouldn’t take my pets any place else. I know they will be well cared for when I have to leave town. If you are looking for a place to kennel your «kids», or just want to give them a day or good romping fun while you are at work, I highly recommend The Pet Spot. You will not be disappointed.

I love the Pet Spot. I decided to try it out last summer (2013) when I saw a deal online for daycare. My puppy is an only child but loves other dogs and people, so I figured for the price it would be a good opportunity for him to get out and play while I was at work. He went to daycare two days a week until the 10-​day pass ran out, and he loved it. He always came out looking happy and exhausted, and would fall asleep as soon as he got to the car. After that, I started getting him groomed at the Pet Spot as well.
Even though he hasnt been a daycare regular since last fall, they still remember his name whenever he comes in for grooming, and he’s always excited to be there. They also started a daycare deal where the cost of daycare is only $ 11 on Saturdays, so I might start taking him to play on Saturdays.
We also completed Good Manners class with the trainer, Lee, this past fall, and she is wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and able to help with individual issues, and you can tell that she really loves working with the dogs. We are beginning her Basic Obedience 1 class in two weeks and are excited to work with her again.
I would definitely recommend the Pet Spot highly for daycare, grooming, and training. I have not yet had a reason to use their boarding, but I’d imagine that it’s just as great as everything else!

It’s unfortunate that The Pet Spot does not accept Pit Bulls or Pit Bull mixes. My little gal is the sweetest most gentle dog I have ever met and to see animal businesses discriminating makes me very sad. She loves everyone and every dog.
I found your deal online and was super excited to find a local doggie daycare for my pup as we just moved to the area. But then I saw that The Pet Spot will not let my dog enter their doors. So disappointing. My pup was attending Camp Bow Wow in our old neighborhood and we will definitely be going to the one in our new neighborhood.
I’m sorry this business discriminates as they are losing lots of business. Lots.

I was going on a trip and I couldn’t use my usual puppy sitter! What to do?! One quick search on Unilocal later though, and I was set.
The Pet Spot is tucked away in Norwood, but once you get over there, you can’t miss it. It’s a giant, giant building with animals constantly coming in and out.
I called on a Tuesday to see if I could board for Thursday, and it was no problem whatsoever. I had to show them that her shots were all up to date (which I really liked as a policy) and then could drop her off anytime between 7 and 7 (the weekend hours get a little wonkier, but they’re still open everyday for dropoff and pickup.)
There were a ton of options for her to take, in case I wanted her groomed or walked or played with or anything like that. Every dog gets their own room here inside, which means no chain-​link fences outside all day. The cheapest one is about $ 30 a day — a bit high, but no more so than renting a car for a day. And it’s absolutely worth it. You do get what you pay for. (And if you want to spend a little more, the larger rooms have web cams, if you really, really need to see your pet.)
The really nice thing was when I picked up my puppy, who was ecstatic and healthy, I saw tons of people doing the same — and their dogs were equally full of energy, happy to see their owners, and healthy as can be. No one seemed angry about anything about how their dogs were boarded. That’s just a testament to their service.
And here’s the best part. Katharine always gets sick when going to a kennel. Always … but so far, after Pet Spot, she’s been perfectly fine. I’m not sure if it’s just the better rooms or better treatment or what, but that’s the best recommendation I can give!
