Nishime Family Karate offers Martial Arts and Fitness classes for all ages. Shihan Nishime has over 50 years experience in teaching Okinawan Shorin-​ryu and teaches seminars world-​wide.

Classes are for ages 4 and up, with Karate classes for Kids, classes for Families, classes for Adults, Bootcamp, Cardio-​kickboxing, Yoga, and Zumba there is something for everyone in the family.

History

Established in 1988.

The first Nishime Karate school was opened in Silverton in 1988. In 1994 it was moved to Monfort Heights and then to its current location in Taylor Creek in 2006.

They opened a second location in Bright, Indiana in 2000 which is still open today and a third location in Crescent Springs, KY in 2005 which moved to Florence in 2012.

They also offer classes at Kids First Sports Center, Mercy Health-​plex, Colerain Community Center and offer programs at various schools and daycare center.

Business Owner

Shihan Nishime moved to Cincinnati from Okinawa, Japan in 1973. He began teaching martial arts in Hartwell. He moved briefly to Sunman, IN and opened a school nearby in Batesville. He returned to Cincinnati in 1984 and teaches with his wife and sons. He is active in the AAU Karate program and travels the world teaching martial arts.
