Sk8rs, oi! Appropriating the grunge/graffiti fashion of heavily urban areas, Metropark cashes in on what was originally personally artistic(and out of borderline poverty). Worse still, prices can be outrageous. $ 50 for a tshirt? OK, commercialization rant aside, the stuff is actually cool. Metropark isn’t so much a brand as a retailer; they sell stuff that others design and create — which they do well. Say what you want about middlemen, this is a nice way to get larger exposure for independent artisans who are trying to do new stuff and bringing art back into fashion. I’d support it if I could afford it.
