J Michael’s Salon & Spa

I’ve been going to Rachel for years and I don’t want to go to anyone else! Even when I live out of town I only get my haircut when I come home to visit my family. Don’t be afraid of Delhi. You’ll get an amazing cut at a great price!

My hair and I have an ongoing love/​hate relationship, mostly caused by my inability to commit to one color or style. So after years of highlighting, darkening, cutting, straightening, curling, etc, my hair was in really bad shape this past winter. And to make matters worse I didn’t love my most recent stylist so I needed to find someone new to perform a miracle in getting my strands back to their former glory. Little did I know, my cousin was having the same problem and her mane found salvation a little salon called J Michael’s in Delhi.
I know, I know Delhi sounds so far away but it’s only 15 minutes from downtown and well worth the drive. The salon itself isn’t the picture of glamour, it’s look is a little dated and I was weary when I first walked in, but luckily I stuck it out. My stylist, Lisa, greeted me with a huge smile and we instantly got into an intense conversation about how to fix my hair problems. After deciding to take my worn-​out, extremely stressed dirty blonde to a medium brown and one of the best blowouts of my life, I was left with super soft, healthy hair that I thought was lost forever. She also recommended products for me use (It’s a 10 leave-​in conditioner is a lifesaver) and I’ve loved my hair ever since.
There’s more! I went back to her with a serious hair challenge a couple months later. I wanted extensions for my brother’s wedding, but couldn’t afford the $ 500 price tag so she recommended I buy some for Sally’s and explained that she could dye and cut them for me. So I showed up with my extensions and she went to work, dyeing them the exact color of my hair and cutting them in a way that they looked completely natural. My hair was a huge hit at the wedding and I spent a quarter of what I would have another salon.
I should also mention the atmosphere in the salon isn’t super posh, but it’s friendly, upbeat and actually quite fun. So if you’re looking for a new stylist, not too far from the city, I definitely recommend J. Michaels and specifically Lisa. I just hope she doesn’t get too popular, because i have no plans of finding a new stylist anytime soon.
