History

Established in 1986.

The Hitching Post has been around since the late 60’s. The Hyde Park location was built in the mid 70’s and was one of the first to include a large full service dinning room with table service. Frank & Peggy Kahsar (the current owners) purchased the Hitching Post in 1986. The Brother and Sister team grew up on the east side of Cincinnati and graduated from Purcell & Marian High Schools (they were separate back then). Both of them went to work for a national restaurant chain before going out on their own. The first restaurant they opened in 1981 was the Munch Box, a small Diner next to the 20th Century in Oakley Square. It was closed in 1987 after the purchase of the Hitching Post.

If you haven’t been in for a while, stop by and see what’s new there are Daily Specials and we still serve «The World’s BEST Fried Chicken» and «Outstanding Breakfast».
