Nothing in life is constant, but my Saturday afternoon ritual of visiting this establishment will likely not end any time soon. Every time I’ve been here, the employees have been incredibly knowledgeable and patient. Go ahead: ask them what the difference between ice cream and gelato is. They would be happy to tell you. Not only that, but they actually encourage you to try different flavors. At other ice cream parlors, you usually get the impatient looks and frustrated sighs, but at Graeter’s you just don’t get that.
With all that being said, I haven’t even mentioned the product yet. So far, there hasn’t been a flavor I didn’t like, but my top recommendation is a waffle cone with a scoop of black raspberry chocolate chip and a scoop of mocha chocolate chip. Enjoy!

The ice cream and sodas are great as always. This location looks like one of the newest. It’s in the ground floor of apartments on the edge of the Xavier campus and there’s parking around the back of the building with a convenient walk-through area to access Graeters.
This location does not use the Graeters Rewards Cards! Graeters is rolling out a new rewards program beginning here. Points and rewards you’ve earned so far do carry forward to the new system. The new rewards system uses a smartphone app called LoyalTree. For those of us with smartphones it’s really convenient. Used to we had to keep track of our rewards receipts and turn in a receipt to redeem our reward because Graeters kept no record of rewards associated with our rewards card. LoyalTree keeps track of everything, so no more saving receipts.
I don’t know what kind of reward system there will be going forward for people without smartphones. Hopefully Graeters has thought that through.
