GLSEN Greater Cincinnati

GLSEN stands for the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network. They are a national organization that has a chapter in Cincinnati. The Cincinnati chapter is one of over forty chapters across the country.
They primarily work within schools and educational institutions to make sure that gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered (GLBT) people aren’t discriminated against and are treated fairly alongside their fellow students. The really work to make schools safer for those students. They run a lot of initiatives from teacher training to supporting students who are being discriminated against by their teachers, schools, or peers.
This organization is important in a city like this where discrimination in the schools is rampant. They are always looking for volunteers to help!
