Been here once but walked by several times. It smells great! Had the authentic wings. Not the typical ones you get at BW3. They were very good. The BBQ is also very good. Location is very small; few tables. Better for carryout. Not a fan of the sides but the owner is very nice!

BBQ was very good… greens were good… Mac and cheese were horrible. Owner is a super nice guy. Would prefer to order meat by the pound and get my own sides elsewhere. The spicy sauce has some real kick to it.

If you’re looking for something like Applebbee’s, this is not the place. If you’re looking for authentic BBQ, that’s not fake, this is your place. Rev, the owner, was super helpful and genuinely a very nice guy. The food was great and the experience was wonder. Highly recommended. Also, get the hot BBQ sauce.

A little hole-in-the-wall with only two tables, but if you want great bbq chicken or ribs near the Great American Ballpark, this place is for you.

Many are afraid of Fins & Feathers but not me. My food was pretty good. The ordering is a little odd because the menu is posted in pieces along different parts of the back wall and counter. The location is very small so nowhere to sit. However, the BBQ was pretty good. The sides were ok too.

Try to eat there. Opened the door and I was rudely told they were closed. I guess they don’t serve food at 12:30 in the afternoon. Even with two smokers running outside.

Undoubtedly Fins and Feathers is by far the worse barbecue that I have ever had in or out of the tristate. The servers where very hospitable however the food was over priced and the portion size was very low. I ordered rib tips and received a total of 10 rib tips on top of two white bread buns. The greens were terrible in comparison to real home cooked greens. These tasted similar to canned Glory Greens. Honestly speaking the best part of my BBQ meal was the dessert which was the strawberry cobbler. I would rather subject myself to the bubonic plague than eat over priced well below average BBQ. Really loved the ribs. My friends also enjoyed the rib tips special. Service was timely, but not quick. I’ll be back.

I avoided this place like the plague b/c of the reviews on Unilocal and the comments from friends who had tried it. I finally broke down yesterday as I was walking back from the bank and figured I would try them out and, at the very least, check them off my list. Please don’t make the same mistake. I got the half rack of ribs and two sides… came out to around $ 20. The ribs tasted like they had been cooked last week. They were rubbery and chewy and the meat was almost gray-ish. The sides were no better. The employees were friendly, but almost overly so… as if they weren’t very used to getting customers. FWIW, I do see them smoking chicken wings on a regular basis and maybe these would have been the way to go. Just please for your own sake, avoid the ribs.

Good pulled pork sandwich, side and drink for under $ 6. Hard to beat downtown. Added bonus is the park steps from front door. Recommend getting sauce on side. Great selection of pies but haven’t tried dessert yet

Rib tips were extremely tough, hot bbq sauce was really good. Greens were okay, candied yams were good. Wasn’t worth the 12 dollars.

When coming across Fins & Feathers, I was very excited to find a BBQ place downtown like everyone else. It’s a little hole in the wall and I was really hoping that it’d be great. I ordered the Large Rib Tips Meal with Potato Salad and Mac N Cheese. After waiting 10 minutes or so for the food to be ready, I finally got it and couldn’t wait to try it. Ugggghh, it was HORRIBLE! The meat was like leather… no joke. The potato salad was straight out of Walmart, and the Mac N Cheese was so bad that I actually spit it out upon taking my first bite. I NEVEREVER waste my food, but even I couldn’t bring myself to finish this meal that I had anticipated so greatly. I do have one positive thing to note. I got his hot BBQ sauce and it had a good flavor. Aside from that, it was $ 12 wasted. I can not recommend this place at all. Is giving 0 stars an option?!

Like the previous review, I too saw the smoker outside and was rather excited that BBQ was available within walking distance of my office. I’m talking real deal bbq downtown, not that Montgomery Inn boiled ribs plate of meh. So when the argument came up today of «where to eat», I suggested we try Fins and Feathers. The store itself is exactly what I want from a BBQ joint. Smoker outside, small front room on the inside, no room for seats, and a menu made of paper taped to the wall. The prices seemed somewhat reasonable. I chose the rib-tips for $ 9, which for a dish, one side, and a drink is just fine. I had contemplated the ½ slab of ribs, but for $ 14, they seemed a bit steep. My lunch companions had the ribs, and the other had the pulled chicken sandwich. After ordering our food the gentleman running the store ran to the back to make our orders. We decided to sit outside for the wait. After literally 30 minutes he came back out with our order. We certainly don’t mind waiting for good food, but 30 minutes is a bit silly of a wait time, especially since we were the only ones there. My Rib tips were doused in the house«Hot BBQ» sauce, and they were nice enough to include a sample of their«Extremely hot» as well on the side. A decent portion of ribtips atop a slice of white bread(Exactly as it should be) and served in a take out container along with a nice side of Greens is what I received for $ 9. The ribs themselves were a bit chewy, some were meaty, others were bony. I’m not much a fan. My buddy’s ribs were«like beef jerky» yet a huge portion of bones. The other guy’s Pulled Chicken Sandwich was so dry he couldn’t finish it. It’s rather sad, but I don’t think i’ll be going back. Although I must admit that the location is fantastic as it’s parkside setting is a perfect place for a summer lunch.

I’m sad. I was really hoping that I could finally get great bbq from an independent restaurant owner just a few blocks from my office downtown. Unfortunately, Fins & Feathers didn’t quite do the job. The drum grill out front was what initially got me excited, but when I ordered, both my pulled pork sandwich and my side had to be heated in the microwave. The place doesn’t appear to be doing tons of business, so I can understand the occasional need to warm things up, but it still made me wonder. The pork was tender, but the sauce completely overpowered any flavor, so I can’t comment on that. Greens were decent. But both the sandwich and the side were on the small side for the price(It’s about $ 9 for a combo with a drink and a side). It’s nice not to be stuffed after lunch, but it’s also nice when it takes you more than 5 minutes to eat. Also, beware carrying out if your walk is any further than Garfield Park. The containers weren’t very sturdy, and my greens had leaked all over the entire paper bag before I made it three blocks. I’m going to smell great at my afternoon meeting!
