I suppose that what I like most about Dr. Plas is that she doesn’t make my gums bleed. Also, the office is pretty clean and quiet, which is certainly an improvement compared to my previous dentist. Most of all, they’re extremely quick, which I like because waiting for a scheduled appointment can be frustrating. The waiting area is very nice though, so I probably wouldn’t mind in this case.

I brought my child in a few years back. We did not have a good experience. I felt talked down to. I remember being accused of letting my child sleep with a juice cup at night which I never did and it was just awkward to simply say «No. I never did that,» and have it thrown back at me «You must have.» I have no idea why this was pushed at me with insistance. I can say the information I was given on the evils of gummy vitamins was interesting. I agreed with her this should be more widely known. I used to give these to my child for two years. I did take this information with me and shared it with friends. However, the rest of the experience did not go well. My child had to have a procedure. She was emotional and afraid. We were sent elsewhere due to my child’s reaction. The tone with which this was done was uncomfortable. Overall we did not have a good experience. We were nervous to begin with, but had high hopes and expectations due to their connection with area schools. Our experience seems to be one of a kind. I am glad. It is nerve wracking to visit the dentist for some people and especially children having those procedures done. You defintitely want to find a place you will be less stressed in. Initially we enjoyed the place she sent us to more… he was more kid-​friendly. However, we ended up going elsewhere after that procedure was taken care of. My child’s current dentist is exceptional. We have been there for two years now. We are happy, helped, and relieved to have found the right place for us. This just was not it for us.

Their insurance handling is awful and they act like they did not want to be bothered with it. Actually suggested we go elsewhere. The estimate we received for additional work needed was not calculated at the correct insurance tier and included several unnecessary, uncovered padded items. I emailed back requesting an estimate at the correct insurance tier (high, not basic) and never heard back from anyone.
One and done.

Best dental visits I have ever had! Didn’t see much of the dentist herself but the hygienist who clean my teeth and took care of my root planin and scaling was the best! I hate the dentist but I know I am in good care when I come to get my teeth cleaned.

I may be the only person on the planet who actually enjoys going to the dentist, that being said I was looking for a new dentist in the area after a regrettably long absence from my previous dr. The people at Gentle Dental were all excellent! So professional and friendly! The office was beautifully decorated and so homey too. Dr Plas was wonderful! She really made sure that I was comfortable with everything going on and asked if I had any anxiety about dentists visits. I will definitely be recommending her to all of my friends!

Who likes to go to the dentist? I certainly don’t! However, the kind and courteous attitude of Dr. Plas and her staff, as well as the relaxed atmosphere of the office provided me with the most pleasant visit of my life to the dentist. I will definitely be returning and recommending her practice to friends and family in this area.

I moved to the Northern KY area over a year ago, and put off going to the dentist for the past year by using the excuse that I hadn’t found one up here yet. Then I realized I was wasting money on dental insurance by not using it (and I hate wasting money more than I hate going to the dentist).
I decided on Dr. Plas after reading all the prior positive Unilocal reviews, and I was really pleased with my experience. The location was easy to get to and parking was easy, which is always a plus. I will say that coming in through the back entrance did give me some pause — you go through the entrance of an apartment complex, and it is kind of sketchy looking. But once you enter the actual dentist office, it’s really nice.
My hygienist was Anna, and she was super nice and gentle. I’m sort of scared of dentists and have had some bad experiences, but she was great! One of the best, non-​terrifying cleanings I’ve had.
The only complaint I have is that they neglected to do an oral cancer check (as a former smoker, this is probably something I should get checked out) — I totally forgot about it too until after I left. My husband had a cleaning with them the week after me, and they didn’t do it for him either.

Amazing! I can’t even begin to describe how fantastic Dr. Plas is! Very kind and accommodating. She is the first dentist I have had who doesn’t leave my gums bleeding and bruised.
She and her staff were very courteous and hospitable.

Dr. Plas is absolutely wonderful. She goes out of her way to help patients feel at ease, explains possible outcomes and procedures thoroughly, and is always patient and comforting. Everyone on her staff are just as kind and accommodating, as well as efficient and effective.
I recently went in for a particularly iffy a filling replacement. Unfortunately, due completely to the poor condition of my tooth, it ended up requiring a root canal and Dr. Plas referred me to a specialist. The earliest appointment with the specialist was a week out but after the anesthesia wore off, I was in extreme pain. I called Dr. Plas’s office (on her day off) and told the receptionist. Dr. Plas and her staff went out of their way to find me another great specialist and worked with them to get me an emergency same-​day appointment. Later that afternoon, Dr. Plas’s office called to check up on me. I’m amazed by how responsive and helpful she and her whole staff was.
I would (and already have!) refer friends and family to her.

I agree with all of these posts! I had a bad experience with another local dentist in town and just wanted to find someone new in the Hyde Park/​Oakley area. To be honest it was just a random way of chosing a new dentist, but I love her and her staff and have been going for the past several years now. They are all so friendly and informative and are patient with me when I ask for details about procedures. If you need a speciaist, she also has given out very good referrals. I would recommend Dr. Plas to anyone new to the area or anyone who is looking for a new dentist.

I have some issues with going to the dentist, as I’m sure most people do. Dr. Plas’ Gentle Dental in Hyde Park makes that scary visit to the chair a little easier to palate; they’re quick, efficient, and even with a year or more of gross-​ass oral negligence (not that I’m speaking from experience or anything), they can clean your mouth up with minimal discomfort and send you on your merry way.
The hygienists are friendly and chatty, a great distraction for when you’re flat on your back with your mouth wide open. Dr. Plas herself is warm and knowledgeable and takes care of business to get you back to your day in no time flat.
I’ve been mangled by dental hygienists in the past, so I appreciate a light touch that still yields effective results. As long as I live in the Greater Cincinnati area, Dr. Plas will be my dentist.

I cannot say enough about my positive experiences with Dr. Plas and her staff. It is 9:30 on a weeknight, and I just left her office after calling earlier in the evening with some tooth pain following a procedure I had done this afternoon. Her understanding and genuine concern for patient well-​being are what set her apart from other dentists.

As someone still relatively new to Cincinnati, it was challenging to find a dentist. My co-​workers all go to different dentists, but none were highly recommended… they were all just «fine.» I saw that Dr. Plas has branded her practice with the words «Gentle Dentistry,» and that really appealed to me. I don’t love going to the dentist anyway (does anyone?), so anything a dentist can do to make the experience more comfortable is greatly appreciated.
Today was my first appointment with Dr. Plas, and I’m so glad I found her practice. The office is very homey and comforting, and she plays the CoffeeHouse XM station, which is nice. Very convenient hours, too, which is great for those of us who need early morning or late evening appointments because of our work schedules.
Dr. Plas’s dental hygenist, Amanda, was absolutely wonderful. I explained that it had been a bit longer than normal since my last dentist appointment, and she was so understanding and just made me feel very relaxed. Though my interaction with her was brief, Dr. Plas was great too, and I had no hesitations about making my next check-​up appointment with her.
