I love this office. The staff is very informative and friendly. They all make a way of making you feel comfortable. They are always playing 92.5 and its a great environment. I just recently started going and they have been great to me. I’ve already recommended two others and they are also regulars now!

I been coming here for probably over 5 years now, and that’s back when I use to live in Chula Vista. Customer service wise I really can’t complain. They always been nice, sweet, and overall great with me.
Dentist wise… well that’s another question. Every time I have came for my annual check up that we all dread, I have never seen the same dentist. Let alone when ever I have had to get some work done, again it was never the same the dentist.
Im always wondering «am I going to see a dentist that I’ve seen before, or am I going to get a box of chocolate, I never know who I’m going to get.»

If you’re unfortunate enough to go to this dentist, know that they will still continuously contact you multiple times after you told them to stop calling them, that you’re going to another dentist. I will be reporting their number on the Nation Do Not Call Registry.
They will try to make you do a deep cleaning which isn’t covered by most insurance even when you don’t need it, even when you floss and use mouthwash twice daily. My current dentist did the standard cleaning that is covered by insurance, which is all you need. I’ve been to a number of dentists over the years and only this one is so bent on squeezing money out of you by looking for procedures that are not covered.
Avoid at all costs!

I’m going for a second opinion because according to this doctors office it’s $ 827 for a deep cleaning AFTER insurance! Everyone else I know can get deep cleanings for $ 150-​$ 250. My mom got a bridge done for $ 1,000 so I’m not really sure where they’re getting their price model from. I definitely think they take advantage of their clients! Not to mention it took 3 nurses and an hour and a half to get x-​rays done… I’m hoping to get the work done elsewhere so I don’t have to go back.

They recently called to get my son to go back for his semi anual teeth cleaning. Really? Really? U obviously didnt read my Unilocal lady.

Dr. Mora’s Family Dentistry office is always available for same day visits. The staff is friendly and personable. Our whole family goes here. I’ve not had a bad experience which is saying a lot since going to the dentist is not fun.

This all started when my wife called Dr. Mora’s office to make an appointment towards the end of August 2011. He was recommended by a friend. Dr. Mora’s office made the appointment for a few days later while we were still in August. I told my wife that she should make it for the following month and change her dentist to him since she was still with our previous dentist and she can only switch once a month. She called Dr. Mora’s office and told them she would change the to them and to make the appointment for the following month. Whomever she spoke to said to keep the August appointment and that since it was so close that they will not file the claim till September. My wife than again told me what the outcome was of the call and I mentioned that this was odd and I was not comfortable with a dentist that would do that. My wife than called U.C. to talk about it and U.C. asked if she was in pain. Once she said that she was in pain, U.C. made it retroactive to have Mora as her dentist. So all is on the up and up and this point.
The day of the appointment I went with her. While sitting in the office while she was with the dentist I could hear one of the administrative people calling to confirm appointments. I was really uncomfortable as each message that was left sounded as though a bill collector was leaving a calling. Very aggressive and abrasive. Leaving messages like «This is our 3^rd attempt to contact you and it is critical that we speak to you». I know this is irrelevant, but wanted U.C. to know. I actually could not sit in the office any longer as I had to bite my tongue from asking if it was really necessary to be that abrupt to your patients.
After my wife got out of the appointment, she was told that their insurance person would have to call us back with the estimate on the cost of the procedures needed.
A few days later Dr. Mora’s Office called my wife with a list of procedures and the cost of each. My wife came to me and was almost in tears because they wanted close to $ 4000.00. I thought that this was excessive and looked on the U.C. website at our payment schedule and I came up with a number closer to $ 300.00. I then called Dr. Mora’s office and asked to speak to the insurance person, they were of course in a meeting. I was told that whomever I spoke to that they could help me. When I explained that they were way off on their estimate, the person I was speaking to got very defensive. She told me that she was the one that personally spoke to U.C. 2 times and that I was wrong. She also said she had a FAX with the information on it. I asked if she could FAX that to me, she said she could not it was against the law to do so. I really got upset this time and laid it out to them on our perception of shady business practices. I mentioned that they were not going to file our claim till after the first of the month and how I believe that this could be insurance fraud. She said that they never said that and that what was meant by that is that Dr. Mora’s office was going to call U.C. and make us retroactive to them. I then explained that they have no right to call the insurance company and change our plan, we as the policy holders are the only ones that can do that and again mentioned insurance fraud. She then said, «I did not say we would call and change your policy» back peddling quickly. This debate went on and on with Dr. Mora’s office saying one thing than I would call them out on it and I was told «we never said that». I got off the phone extremely upset. My wife called U.C. and I am not sure how U.C. could tell, but said that no one had contacted them from Dr. Mora’s office. Whomever she spoke to at U.C. called Dr. Mora’s office and asked them why they would be charging more than what is on the payment schedule. Dr. Mora’s office said that the procedures were specialized and would cost more. The U.C. rep said that even the more expensive procedures do not add up to the total that was given to us. I guess once they got called out on it, things started changing like «We did not realize that this is a DHMO», which we did tell them that in the beginning. This leads me to believe that Dr. Mora’s office never did talk to U.C. as they say they had 2 times and a FAX to back it up.
A few days went by for some cooling down time and my wife decided that since they have the x-​rays and we are capped out for them for the year, she would go back and take care of the teeth that were really hurting. When she called for the appointment, Dr. Mora’s office said that they wanted the dentist to look at the x-​rays again and see if he was even going to be able to do the procedures or if he would have to refer her out. Dr. Mora’s office called back a few days later and said that they can do it and set up the appointment.
There is way more to this, just ran out of character space. JUST STAY AWAY!

Boy do I love this place. I see Dr. Gadbois… who is AMAZING. She truly understands what it is like to have sensitive teeth. She is always very inquisitive as to how each tool or procedure feels and if I am in any discomfort. They have been absolutely amazing with getting me all the things I need done quickly and working with me on prices. As someone who goes to the dentist a LOT (I think I’ve been there about 8 – 9 times in the past 6 months) believe me. These people are amazing!

Dr. William Miller in Dr. Mora’s office is the best dentist ever! Even when I’ve been living clear across the country, I plan my dental visits around my vacations to San Diego so I can see him. He is very calm and patient and is an expert in general and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Miller is so great, the visits are nearly painfree. I highly recommend Dr. Miller!

Dr. Mora gave me a couple crowns done so poorly that they had to be replaced within a year. His staff was unprofessional and disorganized. I would never go again.
