UEI College

I recently a UEI graduate and the staff there is very helpful. I learned a lot and I have a wonderful teacher which is my mentor Ms Lorena Cardenas. She is very dedicated and she gave her best to her students. She gives her time and very detailed on her teachings. One thing about Ms Cardenas is never gave up on her students. I will recommend UEI. Also the career services Ms Ronda Buchanan she is willing to help and eager to help. Also ms Brenda she is very helpful on everything. They’re the best !!

I attended the criminal justice courses, the teachers were informational, but unfortunately it was too late when I realized I had just gotten a $ 11,000 loan just to attend this school and all I received was a certificate saying I completed the criminal justice course, which is seemingly useless. If you want to be an officer of the law, it’s basically an $ 11,000 piece of paper that only looks good sitting in your portfolio. Or you can become a security guard. Oh wait, you can do that on your own, no uei criminal justice certificate needed.
Or you can spend your $ 11,000 on a real college where you can actually obtain a degree and have it be worth more than a certificate. I would seriously reconsider giving this place your loan money. Dental assistants and medical assistants, You can take courses at your local community college and get a certificate for just a couple hundred bucks.
It’s a serious wake up call when you are getting calls to pay off your huge loan, and you can hardly afford to eat and you have nothing to show for it because you make $ 10 an hr as a security officer. You can achieve your career dreams quickly without UEI ripping you off. I regret going here so very much.

I was in this school for the Dental Assisting program. I’m gonna make a list of all the pros and cons and even compare to another school.
Pros:
This school is so clean. They hold cleanliness very high, especially in the dental program. Students change gloves and face masks every time they put the ppe on. They clean the rooms and equipment every time they use it. They sterilize all the instruments. The instructors know what they’re talking about. The students are nice. Employees are nice. And their method of teaching is awesome. They always have supplies and they teach so much!
Compared to Kaplan college, they rock. Kaplan doesn’t clean. You have to use your face mask for a week before you can get a new one. They rarely have the size gloves you actually need. In the one month at UEI, I learned way more than the students at Kaplan so in 2 – 3 months.
Cons of UEI:
The price is a little expensive. And the financial aid people (other than the ari) don’t really don’t what they’re talking about and will tell you whatever they think you want to hear to get you in. And they will screw over veterans.
I’m fairly positive that there are things I’m forgetting but this is good for now. Kaplan may have better ratings on Unilocal and Google, but UEI actually teaches…

I wish I could give this school no stars at all. This is how much I disliked and totally regretted to have attended this lousy college. I completed their course on Conputer Systems Technician which was totally based on getting COMPTIA A+ Certification. Their lesson plans are too outdated and likewise for their facilities. There were no hands-​on (which is expected of you as a technician) integrated with their curriculum except for the Externship or OJT with an outside company for about 5 weeks. This OJT is not even a guarranteed job position with that company. If you do not want to waste your time and money, you need to stay away from UEI Cokkege. Please do not follow my mistake of attending this college and be regretful.

This crappy school! wish I would’ve known this before I got stuck with the $ 14,000 loan and no job!!! They speak so nice to you and make you believe that you have a great future awaiting for you when really all you have is a loan payment and no career!

I attended this campus for their Dental Assisting program back in 2012. During this time, I had 2 different instructors, and a mandatory change of schedule through the school which was involuntary due to the change of instructors. Huge inconvenience.
I urge you, if you are reading this, to please not attend this school. If you are seeking to gain a career or some sort of certification in a short amount of time, go to San Diego City College, Mesa College, or Mira Mesa College. They have a dental assisting program, and pretty much every program that UEI offers, and MORE.
You can apply for financial aid, and it does NOT cost an arm and a leg. You will have the same education there that you’d get here. If you apply and are awarded to BOGW, then you’re even better off to go! And you’ll get the remainder of your Pell Grant in a check.
You will have much more freedom, and can choose your classes, amongst other things. You also have the option of obtaining actual degrees and/​or transferring.

I wish I would have read the reviews before I stepped foot in this «school». I called them made an appointment to hear about the programs they offered. When I talked to the advisor (Octavio Perez… or something like that) he went into a giant song and dance about how my life has been pointless and embarrasing till this moment. He wasnt going to stop poking at me until I admitted that I was ashamed that I had been a stay at home mom for the last five years. He took a piece of paper drew and S in a circle representing socity and then drew an x in a cirlce representing me and said that I had been cut off from socity. And then he proceedes to say «when you are at a social event and someone asks you what you do and you say stay at home mom arent you embarrased». When I said no and was obiviously annoyed at the direction he was going he just kept poking until I evenutally got up and left. And then two people from the college including him TEXTED ME! What kind of professional sends a text message. I get what he was trying to do. He was trying to get me to say ohhh yes your right my life has been a total waste until this moment! Let me give you all my money and make it all better. Well I’m a grown up, and I expect to be treated as such. I saw right threw what he was trying to do. I have never in my life been as insulted as I was today.

No general ED required+financial Aid provided+No diploma or GED need it+ in short time career completed= Debt, Broke, unemployed.

stay as far away as possible from this school it is a joke and not to mention a brain washing school when i attended they even lost their acreditation. i even get phone calls from lawyers. dont waist your money. and also you will not get hiered at any of the big hospitals or companies because they are very well aware of their fraud. these schools make the big boys rich … and dont give a damn about you i was with students that were literally on the streets living …

awsome scam artist. take ur money 16 000 and is just like High School or worse. Big mistake. I am Professional and still havent found a job. its been two years. well i did find a job that paid me $ 8 and im not even joking… cant find a good job. just a bunch of dentists that are trying to use me for low wages… i might as well work at Walmart and never have gone to school cuz then i wouldnt have wasted a crap load of money…
Update…its 2014 and still no good job. Now U.E.I has flooded San Diego and the surrounding areas with so many uneducated Dental Assistances… finding a job is a joke. Any one who joins… I feel so bad for you.

Today I went into U.E.I with my four year old daughter to use the career services computers and printer. When I signed the contract 3 years ago, it stated that I could use the career services computers, fax, printers etc as much as I need to help with career seeking. Seeing that I am in debt $ 16 000, of course imma use this to my advantage. So like I said, I went in there and used the computer to print some applications out and I was approached by this women named «Ester» she was a black women and her office is right next to the computers, she came to me in a threatening body language and tone, I seriously thought I was being approached by a gang banger by the way she was handling the situation. She asked me in the most rudest tone about what I was doing. I looked at her and asked her why she was speaking to me like that and especially in front of my four year old little girl. She replied by coming up and turning off the printer. I was appalled, but yet I wasn’t surprised. This was in fact U.E.I. I told her that in my contract I could use these services and that I will continue without any harassment and disrespect. I turned the printer back on and continued. She started threatening me and went to the phone and called security. Saying I was being very rude and threatening to her and to have them come and remove me. Wow I am also heavily pregnant. I looked at my daughter and I had to apologize to her for this women’s unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. My daughter looked at me scared :(I told the women how dare she act like this to a 7 month old pregnant mother with her daughter present. With the intent of trying to gain employment in the last 3 years. I told her that U.E.I has a bad reputation because of people like her. She got mad and walked out pushing the door so hard that it hit the wall. I finished printing and went down stairs to share what had happened to the director, who only took the women’s side saying that they are limiting the printers use because of people using it so much and that we now have to ask to use anything and that i had to be supervised and depending on my need it might not be approved. Wow… I will never come back to U.E.I. I will just buy my own printer because I can’t even get to use what U.E.I and I had signed too.
This was so degrading and it was so bad of an experience I started crying. I am in debt $ 16 000 and all I was trying to do was use the printer to be able to hopefully gain employment… its been three years and I am still trying… ‚(and in front of my little girl too…

I don’t recommend this school. VERY unprofessional instructors (except for the one I had at the last 2 modules). As far as the office, the only good person in there at the time was Susan, in admissions. I attended in 2008.

I am so amazed at where I am right now because of them! I am a dental assistant and I love it! The staff and students are so friendly! I loved going here more than high school! haha But dont get me wrong, I was skeptical at first about going but in the end I am so glad I went here
When I graduated after 8 months, I was unable to find a job as much as I looked but the college kept me in their minds, they were sending out my resume and trying to find me a job and then one day I finally got the call from one of my councelers about an interview she set up with a dentist. a week later and I GOT THE JOB!
Yeah, it was definently worth it :)
