The food is amazing, and the best part is that it’s all FRESH! You can tell by the taste. I’ve had juices(my favorite is the multi green and the vampire) I’ve also had their sandwiches which are huge and loaded! Fruit salads, acai, and the escamocha are really good. I always ask for no papaya and they always get it right. People there are really nice, they help me when I have questions or when I can’t decide. The prices are great, specially for the good quality of the food, and they have combo deals. I love it there

The sandwiches are not that great, gave that a try a few times(only because it’s the only healthy option near my work) then they started selling acai bowls, so I gave it a try, twice. And both times I’ve ordered one, they took forever(30 minutes) and gave them to me in liquid form. This last time I went back and they made me a new one, but I had to eat it there since they make their acai in the blender. Not a place to go for acai bowls.

Ive been going here since i moved in to this side of chula vista. I always get good service and the quality is always good and fresh. I was greeted very lazily and forcefully today though. I ordered small fruit salad with everything on but no green melon and as soon as i said fruit salad the lady in the back pulled out a pre made salad with the fruit badly cut still stuck together in chunks and it was wet and soggy… not fresh at all. There was lady with her daughter there at the time, you two really couldnt make me a fresh salad? Its a salad bar i can see you making it with your bad attitude. Next time i come you better step it up or i wouldnt be surprised they closed down like the other fruit place across the street.

I’ve been here a few times when I was in the area(like today). First of all, the food is super fresh and surprisingly really really good. It’s not your average smoothie/sandwich shop. What makes this place unique is that their food/recipes are Latin based which, I think, makes everything a whole lot better than your average green smoothie at Jamba Juice. Everything I’ve tried here so far is good. I’ve had the healthylicious sandwich, the strawberries and cream cup, the multi-green energy juice, the tuna salad, their fresh squeezed orange juice, and their corn in a cup… allll awesome! A word of advice though– they are slow, yes. But that’s why the food is so fresh because they make everything to order. If you’re in a hurry, call ahead and they’ll have it ready for you, otherwise, if you eat here, plan to wait 10mn for your food or longer if there’s people in front of you. Also, like the other reviews said, there’s almost always no one waiting at the front so ring the bell –that’s what it’s there for– and they’ll come out to take your order. I’ve never experienced rudeness but they don’t go out of their way to be extra friendly either. I really don’t care about that unless the place is clean, the food is great, and they’re helpful when I order. I guess if your super sensitive and you want wait service or a smiling cashier to compliment you and wipe your ass… then this place is not for you. All in all, this place is great if you’re in the area and looking for healthy food. Don’t let their Unilocal rating deter you from coming here. Oh, I forgot to mention the portions are large except for their drinks… I think the drinks are standard sizes.

I don’t know if Tropical Oasis changed owner or just employees, but they have improved a whole lot! I bought from them in the past and really didn’t like their product, ‘tostilocos” didn’t have all the fixin’s and the fruit salads where bland and couldn’t get free extra honey from them… However, after banning them from my list… I had the uncontrollable urge for something fresh last week and decided to walk in there just because my car was in the shop and didn’t want to walk more that what I already had… So, I go in there and ask for«tostilocos», the girl was very sweet and told me she didn’t have the pork skins for it and I said it was OK. cause I always asked for the smallest amount anyway … so she went ahead gave me the choice to substitute them with any other fruit I wanted… I chose pineapple. OMG! they not only had all the stuff on top, like the chaca-chaka and peanuts, but where fresh and delicious… I sat and complacently ate the whole thing that was neatly placed in a large plate, instead of the old fashion bag and let me tell you I became a fan. After that day; I’ve had coffee and a «mollete», and today my husband and I had a «torta especial»… and it was very good! They still have room for improvement and could use plastic instead of Styrofoam, and the torta could of used some chipotle sauce, but I got as much Jalapenos as I needed. What a way to make a comeback! I hope these experiences I’ve had recently weren’t only temporary and you keep up the good work! UPDATE: I went back they are back to the old habits of not having fresh products and bland tostilocos… What happened???

I had a craving for a fruit salad this week so I went to Tropical Oasis. This fruiteria is tucked in a small strip mall with limited parking. When you walk in, I recommend ringing the bell at the counter or you will wait forever. There was only one women working in the back and she was too busy cutting fruit to notice a customer had come in. The place is small, but has several tables to sit at inside. I ordered a small fruit salad which was topped with cottage cheese, granola and a side of honey. You also have the option of topping your salad with yogurt or whip cream. Compared to other fruit salads that I’ve had, these salads were about a dollar more and didn’t contain much variation in fruits. It did have apple, pineapple, papaya, banana, and strawberries but I was missing the mango which is my favorite! Oh well, it was still good. Maybe they didn’t have ripe mangoes that day. They also make smoothies, fresh squeezed juices, tortas and sandwiches. I still recommend it for a healthy lunch!
