Tom Massarat, DDS, MS

First off I am terrified of the dentist and never go. I had to get a root canal done and heard how painful it was I went to see Dr. Masarat and was surprised how quickly it was done and pain free! Since then I have had a total of 3 root canals done total and he even called to
Check how I was doing himself.

If you need a root canal go to Tom Massarat at Eastlake Endodontics, he is THE BEST! I have been to see him a few times now and every time, I have been in a lot of pain and he got me in asap no questions asked and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable make sure I was not hurting at all for any part of the procedures. I will not be going to see anyone but Dr Massarat again for a root canal, he is amazing I highly recommend him.

Bait and switch? I was referred here for root canal work. Did my research on him and made the appointment with Dr. Massarat. Called day prior to appointment to confirm and verified that indeed my appt. was with HIM. Well when I got there it was not him but another DDS. She was great but that is not the person I researched prior to making the appointment. I need to know that the so called medical professional is board certified with no pending lawsuits, etc. You don’t make appointments to have your hair done by a certain stylist and then sit in the chair and have a complete unknown person work on you. You don’t go to a Chinese restaurant expecting to be served Chinese food only to find out that everyone else gets to eat Chinese but you have to eat hamburgers. I consider this totally unprofessional and disrespectful to me as a patient. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Dr. Massarat and his staff are first class. I have had countless issues with my teeth and Dr. Massarat has taken every step to alleviate my symptoms/​problems. He and his staff do everything possible to make his patients comfortable & ease any concerns or fears they may have. He is very accommodating and his follow up care is great! I can’t recommend him enough … wish there were 10 stars!

Sadly the issue is with the Office Manger Norma. Tom was nice, but couldn’t help us.
We came in with a lot of pain and they told us the visit was going to be $ 15. We paid our $ 15.
Tom did nothing but look at the tooth. We had to go to another dentist because it was cracked.
Two weeks later we get a note in the mail to pay $ 40 more dollars. (I now know it was a deductible I thought I had already paid)
I had to go out of town for work that week and not even a week later we get another bill in the main with a comment of «payment within 10 day to avoid this account being assigned to a collection agency»
HOW RUUDDEE!
Not even a week and they send a letter with a threat. Of course I call them before 5pm and they don’t pick up. How can we go from $ 15 to $ 55?
Oh, we had a 12pm appointment and when we showed up the office was closed with an «out to lunch» sign on the door… so we had to stand around waiting in the hallway and when they did show up they didn’t even say «hi» or «we will be right with you»…nope just kept talking and walked right by.
TOM seems to be good person, showed concern for my wife and was very nice to both me and my wife I. These post treatment aggressive letters are not ok and should be noted as a real lack of service standards.
Maybe this review will get them to call me and not just mail me threats. (they did call, and I paid)
Way to ruin the reputation of a good DDS.

I was referred to Dr. Massarat by my regular dentist for a root canal. He is absolutely wonderful. Came in for my consult and rather than have me come back to have my actual procedure, he performed the procedure right there and then. No pain whatsoever after my root canal. Everyone in the office is so pleasant from the time you walked in.

Let me start by saying if I could give him 1 million stars I would! Dr. Massarat is a super nice guy with excellent bedside manner. My consultation was quick & simple but thorough. The office was nice and squeaky clean, the staff were very helpful & friendly so I scheduled my root canal for the next week. I went in first thing in the morning and Dr. Massarat made me feel comfortable & helped me to not be afraid of my first root canal. If you haven’t had one don’t be intimidated, it’s not bad at all. He let me know there would be no pain, no blood, no swelling and assured me that I was in good hands being that this is all he does and does it well. I was happy to hear that but it was hard to believe, no pain, yeah right? So after the procedure (all of 30 mins) was over he told me I needed to come back, free of charge, to finish because there was an infection present and he wanted me to do a round of antibiotics before finishing the procedure. I was pleased that he was patient, honest and cool about it. I got my prescription and was on my way. Got home and I was still numb, zero pain, zero bleeding, no swelling at all. About 4 hours after the procedure I was no longer feeling numbness but I was waiting for the pain & soreness to kick in but it didn’t yay! I was eating & drinking like normal, it was great! Later in the evening Dr. Massarat went above and beyond by calling me to check on me and see how I was doing, this is why he is so awesome, he really cares about his patients. I was so ecstatic to find such an amazing dentist for this procedure because I know not everyone is fortunate enough to have a pleasant experience with a root canal. If you are in the unfortunate position to need a root canal at least you can be fortunate enough to have it be a good experience if you choose him. I highly recommend Dr. Massarat to anyone in need of a root canal.

I would never imagine myself giving a 5 star review to a dentist especially one that does root canals. I tried to avoid seeing dental doctors. :/
I had a root canal done with dr. Massarat last year and I was so nervous. The procedure went well and experienced no pain and healed perfectly. Today I came in for pain on a different tooth and he examined me and recommended me to see an oral surgeon. They got me an appt. the same day. The front desk is not the friendliest but Dr Massarat and his assistant are great!!!

My regular dentist gave me a referral to have a root canal done. I made an appointment for a consultation in the afternoon.
The staff here is very friendly and equipment is up to date with technology. After the xray was taken, the Dr came in and told me I had an infection and needed a root canal. He asked if I wanted it done then since I was the last patient of the day, I asked how long, he said «eh 30 minutes».
During the process the Dental Tech and Dr kept asking how I was doing. The numbness sunk in quick. Within 15 minutes he was done with the procedure.
I left the office and the numbness was fading away and I was thinking oh heck, I am going to be driving home in pain. Not even! No pain.
He prescribed Ibuprofen and Antibiotics… it’s been a week and still no pain and the infection is just about gone!
Very good Endontic and the staff here is very nice.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Massarat as a dental surgeon & all-​around great person!
Even the idea of having dental surgery gives me chills. But with Dr. Massarat, I knew that I’d be in very capable hands. This is my second root canal by Dr. Massarat. Like many reviewers say, my procedure was painless, goes by quickly, and there’s even entertainment (TV or nice tunes) to EASE your fears & take your mind off what’s happening. He is very detailed, has a pleasant manner, and genuinely cares about his patients. He even called the next day (on a Saturday) to make sure I was doing OK! (How rare is that?) His staff also is friendly and professional, setting your mind at ease.
If you have a dental problem or a dental emergency, I can’t imagine going to anyone else! I drove 1 hour and 15 minutes (each way) to see him, and would do it again in a heartbeat. He’s the BEST of the best in his field, so consider yourself lucky if you’re ever a patient of his! Chris C.

On 24 Nov 2013, I went to Eastlake Endodontics (my dentist office referred me and made the appointment for me) for a root canal procedure. Dr. Leah Shen was superb… the procedure went well and was almost painless. Even before she stared on me, she made sure I was comfortable, thoroughly explained the procedure and what to expect, and best of all it went on almost painlessly. I thought the cleaning and exam I had a couple of weeks ago from my regular dentist was a breeze but this root canal procedure was a walk in the park. Dr. Shen surely deleted the stigma attached to such procedure off my mind.
She was also very accommodating. When I complained that I came for the root canal procedure and not for a consult as was mistakenly scheduled, she understood that I did not want to take another leave of absence from work to come back for another day… she made time to ensure the procedure was done on that same visit. A truly classy professional that puts her patient’s well being a priority. I am glad you did the procedure (I was led to believe, Dr. Massarat was going to tend to me). Well done! Just wish you could be my regular dentist.

I went in for a root canal, but before I did I had the office confirm my dental insurance coverage. After confirming my coverage I proceeded to get the root canal.
Now they are saying that my dental ins. denied my claim and are trying to bill me for the remainder of the bill? This to me is POOR office skills! They should have confirmed with my dental insurance the billing fee before my procedure. Now I’m stuck with a bill I am NOT going to pay!

Who thinks they would give five stars to someone who gives you a root canal?
I am a dental CHICKEN.
No pain through the procedure — if course there is some pain when the anesthetic wears off. You can’t lie your way through that.
Dr. Mazzarat is awesome. The last root canal I had took FOREVER. Dr. M was fast, VERY concerned over my comfort. Nice office, great staff, comfortable setting.

Thank you Dr. Massarat for making my first root canal experience as painless as ever! Very knowledgeable, thorough and genuinely concerned with my overall well being. If I ever need another root canal (hopefully NOT) then I would definitely come back for a visit!

I had a root canal done today by Dr. Massarat. He was very professional and gentle. I was relaxed during the whole procedure. I’m a dentist myself and could tell how good his work was. Definitely no fear of getting root canals when you go to him. Thank you dr and also your staff for being so nice and accommodating.
I am happy that I’ve been referring my patients to him, knowing they will get the best service.

I cannot give Dr. Massarat enough praise. I recently underwent two root canals and the experience was beyond my expectations. When first went into his office I was nervous and fearful of the pain I expected to experience. To my surprise there was no pain. He was kind, gentle and very caring. He is a true professional and master of his trade!

I went in to see Dr. Massarat after a fall left me with a broken front tooth in need of a complicated Root Canal. I was referred to Dr. Massart from my regular dentist, Dr. Halabo, and couldn’t be happier with the experience! The office was able to fit me into the schedule easily and got everything taken care of as soon as possible. It was virtually pain free. Root Canal is generally a scary term, but Dr. Massarat has definitely mastered his skill!

Dr Massarat is kind and gentle. That is what you want in a root canal. The procedure was nearly painless. I was in and out of there in less than an hour. Really great care from him and the staff.

I love Dr. Massarat! I have soft teeth, which means every 2 years or so I’m in Dr. Massarat’s office having a root canal done. I’ve probably had 4 or 5 root canals by Dr. Massarat. I just had one yesterday, took a couple of tylenol afterward then that was it, pain was gone. He’s an angel! He’s makes the tooth pain go away so people can go on with their lives!
He uses a Technically advanced treatment by using a microscope. I think that’s why the pain is so diminished, the smaller the work area, the less the pain. I called yesterday complaining my face was throbbing and he fit me in to have some work done, I love him! Then he called to check on me and made sure I was ok. That’s something Dr’s just don’t do anymore. I appreciate all of the work I’ve had done at Dr. Massarat’s office, he cares, HE MUST or I would still be in pain!

pros… are you in need of a root canal? well i had my very first one ever, and i went to see Dr. Tom Massarat, he was great. very professional and friendly. and he knows his stuff. i went in on friday, and i am still not feeling the least bit sore at all. he was so cool and even asnwered questions during the surgery. can’t believe he could actually understand what i was trying to say. he answered all my crazy question too. all while watching the food network on t.v. how cool is that, you can watch t.v. as you get your teeth worked on.
another great part is that Dr. Tom take carecredit, which was a blessing for me as my insurance wasn’t going to cover any of the surgery at all. so if you are in need of some extra money to apply in a medical sort of way, the carecredit is one way to go.
