San Diego County Credit Union

Came here to deposit cash to my checking account. Bye bye to my money as it is going to more bills. I wish we didn’t have so many bills to pay. I can’t wait until my second car is paid off.
Anyway, this place was a little busy. My daughter and I walked in, and there was already a line. The line went quickly though. There were several people on the floor to assist other customers. When it was my turn to in line, I gave my deposit slip and cash. The teller was nice, gave me my receipt and I was on my way out. It was fast and quick.
The only con here is parking as it shares it with IHOP. Almost got clipped by a mini van. People drive like maniacs here with people who gave me dirty stares. Just plain rude. I only came here because we were in the area. Other locations are better than this one.

Just finished up my transaction at SDCCU and my teller Liz F was absolutely wonderful! She helped me withdraw, transfer, create travel plans, and even a direct deposit form quickly and efficiently. (Yes I was one of those people who needed an arm and a leg of work at the bank window haha) she was sweet the entire time and made sure that I had everything I needed. Five stars because Liz was the best help!

Went in for a car loan with Tasha, without even running my credit or anything told me and my fiancé we would not be approved, was asking questions that had nothing what so ever to do with the approval of a car loan, we were there less then 10 min, went to Mission Federal credit union got approved with an 1.88% interest. Will Never do business with this bank just because of her ! We currently have a car loan with you guys and paying it off to switch to mission fed ! She needs to be fired asap ! Unprofessional and bitter lady !!

San Diego County Credit Union is a great bank to bank with. I like their banking policies and extra services they provide for their members.
This specific branch is very helpful and is in a easy area to find. I go here often because it is close to my other places I visit on a regular bases.
I have no complaints or issues with location and plan on using them regularly.

The employees here are always so polite and helpful, especially the representative in the front desk area. Free checking with online statement is the best offer. I will use SDCCU for all my financial needs.

I’ve been with SDCC since before they moved to the present location on H St. Occasionally I would go to the Eastlake branch and they always seemed LESS stressed out. However, in the last year or so, their customer service has taken a nose-​dive.
In early January I went to the Eastlake branch. It was about 20 minutes until closing. I went in to cash a check and ask a teller about getting a print out of my cashiers’ check if possible. After the check cashing he fumbled around with the answer to my question. Understanding that they were getting ready to close, I said I would do it another time. I turned to walk out. Their security guard stepped inside and stood by the door. At the same time, one of the loan officers/​key holders went to the door to lock it from inside. I smiled at her and waited for her to lock it before stepping out side. I then said, «good night» and she ignored me completely. Didn’t even grunt. In fact, it was the guard she replied!!! So now, common courtesy is seen as a threat??? Her name is Jessica at the Eastlake branch.

My mom received a call from SDCCU about the sizes of the safe deposit boxes. Since the true measurements didn’t reflect the advertised ones, the credit union will waive the fee for the second box (the first one is complementary with an account). Thanks SDCCU for following up on this. Great customer service!

After being extremely happy with a credit union up in Washington state (BECU), I had high hopes for San Diego County Credit Union.
SDCCU was well below my expectations; fees out the wahzoo, terrible customer service (at the Otay Lakes location at least).
After only three months of dealing with their outrageous fees, I closed my account and went to Mission Federal.
I can only compare what I experienced at SDCCU to what I experienced from Bank of America… Horrendous.

Yesterday, my checking account was hacked via a fake check card transaction to the tune of $ 700. I went into this branch and was taken care of straight away. After I filled out a simple form the money was replaced into my account.

I opened my account to get away from the «Big Banks» and after a year of doing business with them, I didn’t really feel like it was any different. I used the Eastlake branch most often and it was still «next» when they waited on me. I think they could try a little harder to live up to their advertising — at least I don’t pay fees on my account.

The service here has slid the last few months. The tellers seem like they want to rush through the transactions you are requesting as if you are bothering them by walking into their bank. Its funny… they have signs telling you to switch out your big corporate bank account to the more friendlier credit union bank. Friendly my butt. My last time here I requested a cashier’s check for my rent. The teller screwed up my cashier’s check by typing out the wrong info on who the check goes to. I notice this as I am already down the street driving away. I turn around, go back, and get another teller to fix this but there was absolutely no apology on their end for the mistake. Instead I get a «please double check the info before you leave this time» speech as if this were my fault. Seriously? If your teller would slow down and I don’t know… PAY ATTENTION to who the check was going to, which I stated at least twice because she wasn’t paying attention, then maybe I wouldn’t be inconvenienced by wasting another 10 – 15 minutes of having to waste gas to go back to your bank to fix the mistake YOUR BANK made. I guess that’s what I get for sticking around with this bank for the last 7 years. My bad. Maybe I will find another credit union soon who will actually give me decent customer service and won’t blame me for their mistakes.

I think i’m the first to review this bank. So gladI moved to the area. Everyone is so nice. And really cool air inside this bank.
