Rancho Del Rey Orthodontics

Don’t go here. My daughter had braces for 4 months and the brackets broke 6 times. She was following all of the instructions go of the Doctor. We finally had to take them off. We paid almost 1000 $ over four months to be told she will need braces when she is older. I feel recommending braces for a 7 year old is not the right move, and she was not ready. The doctor is very nice but the front staff in my opinion is not professional and the assistants are quite rude. I felt they kept blaming is for the braces breaking and she was following all the rules. Plus she once had them break and I had to remove the wire and cut it because it was stuck in her gums. Poor girl. This was not a good experience for her and for us.

I’m walking out of Rancho Del Rey orthodontics. I am beyond disappointed on the end result of my Invisalign. My treatment started at the age of 16 (now 20). I’ve always had problems with them snapping on me.
For the whole duration of my treatment the dental assistants, as well as the head doctor, dr Prater would remove my retainers with one finger popping it off from the top, left tooth. They never told me how to properly remove the tray so I did as they did, popped off with one finger. That resulted in my final retainer breaking, so I purchased another for $ 500 (already $ 1,000 just for retainers) and again it broke. Still never told me what the issue was until I looked it up and saw the proper way to remove retainers.
It’s been 4 months without the retainer, they told me I can purchase ANOTHER retainer (my teeth have shifted so it would just keep it from worsening), or go back into treatment… For another 12 months to correct what having no retainer in did. And then told me it would cost another $ 4,500 on top of the almost $ 8,000 I have already put into Invisalign. I’m so disappointed I invested a lot of my college savings to get my teeth fixed.
All could have been avoided if they taught me how to correctly remove my trays and retainers.

I was a little annoyed when I went to the orthodontist office today, because it seems so difficult to get an appointment just for a bracket to be fixed. The office started giving off a vibe that made it seem as if they didn’t care about the patients because how difficult it was to get an appointment just to get something simple fixed. After going into the office today to get a pokey wire cut, I feel more at ease because of the dental assistant Jeanette.
Jeanette was so sweet and talked me through everything about what they would do at my next visit and was very understanding and helpful in answering all my questions clearly. I really appreciate her attitude and her kindness!!! Hooray for Jeanette!!! She made my morning! !!!

I’ve always been a little hesitant to smile for the majority of my life because of my teeth. They aren’t crooked or anything like that, they just had gaps. I came in for a consultation and was pleasantly surprised about how nice everyone was! From the front desk to the people inside, this place has to be the happiest group I have ever seen inside an orthodontist.
I signed up for an Invisalign treatment the day I went in for a consultation! Everything was clearly explained and so were other options. They really want you to be happy with your smile! Dr. Prater is really funny and encouraging! One of the nicest, if not the nicest, orthodontist I’ve ever met. They give you a bag of goodies as well!

Dr. Prater and her team are amazing! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Never once have I felt neglected or pressured in my Invisalign process. Dr. Prater herself has been very professional, polite, and thorough.
Best part of each appointment I’ve been to is this… you get a cookie! #SMILE

I took my daughter here today and i am very happy,
she needs alot of work done on her mouth and it feels very overwhelming
but the man that took us in (zion) i think was his name was so kind and warming
dr prader is amazing, she explained to my daughter everything that needed to be done and she was very calming. My daughter has a deep anxiety with dental work and she was happy.
we have a long road of work to be done but i feel comfortable with taking her there and feel that she is in good hands.

Dr Prader is so genuinely sweet. It is super apparent that she loves treating children. I have also seen adults come in as well. I have never sen her in a bad mood or treat anyone badly to include the staff. Her staff also are very professional and always accommodating with our families crazy and busy schedule. My daughter is almost finished and hopefully wil have her braces off by the end of the year. Yeah ;)
I high recommend Dr. Prader to anyone needing orthodontic care.

Ugh i love these people. Their new after hours phone line is amaaaazing!
My retainer broke and i couldnt call till after 8pm so I thought i’d leave a message with their voice mail. to my surprise Yvonne picked up the phone! its so great, they now forward all after hour calls to their own lines. Its so nice to hear an actual person on the other end rather than an automated machine. It made me feel so relieved to have her tell me what i needed to do ASAP!

I have been a patient of Dr Prater’s for about 4 years and I must say she is AMAZING! Not only have my teeth improved, but she is also a great human being/​friend. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I have always had great experiences with Rancho Del Rey Orthodontics. They all make me feel as part of the family when I come to my appointment.

My 7-​year old son is a patient of Dr. Prater. He is doing early intervention with regard to orthodontic treatment. From the moment we entered the office, we were treated with respect and compassion. This is my first experience with orthodontics (aside from my own treatment back in the «olden days»). I had lots of questions and concerns; each one was addressed and my mind was put at ease. Dr. Prater and her staff are friendly and courteous every visit. My son doesn’t fear going to the office and I know that we will be happy with the final result of his treatment.

We love Rancho Del Rey Orthodontics. My daughter has been going to this office for three years now. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They make us feel like we are part of their big family. If we ever have to move, I don’t know what we would do. Doctor Prater is wonderful doctor! My daughter teeth look great.

I haven’t had any issues here… The staff is extremely friendly and helpful… We were having issues with the payment plan when I returned from cruise and they had no issues in working with us for solutions… we were never pushed away or kicked to the curb even after the financial situations

Dr. Prater & her staff are amazing! I have never felt so comfortable being at a dental office. The staff were all very nice — introduced themselves, answered any questions I may have & made sure I was okay and comfortable. The conversations were great with the staff! I felt really educated, understood and respected at all times. Excellent customer service! Did not leave the office without any unanswered questions, which is a sign that they did their job :)
The office is equipped with the latest technology, clean and very well-​organized. Really relaxing! Great paintings all over that are pleasing to look at with comfortable seats. This office was my 4 consult over a period of 3 months after my dentist, Dr SanAye, who I love :) who recommend I go see an Ortho I visited a pirate office where the Dr. didn’t shake my hand and was 30 minutes late to see me, an Asian Dr who seemed goofy and had me come back for 3 visits until I finally met him and a lady in Eastlake who didn’t seem like she likes kids.
So my son had an overbite because his jaw is too small. Dr. P told me the challenges in his teeth and jaw on my first visit I appreciate that. He is in braces now for over 1 year and things look much better. My daughter is having part 1 with expanders on the top And bottom. I started her early hoping to get her finished with straight teeth ASAP. Her smile is so much better now too.
Dr P. is always there to see my kids and her staff gives me an update after each appt. I have had to make payment arrangements a few times and they have been very nice. As long as you tell them, they work with you Sometimes it’s busy but dr. P. is always there to welcome you and thank you.
The office is very clean, smells nice and the staff are well groomed And professional.
Oh and I took the price from the lowest consult I had with the pirate and they beat it by a few hundred. Go try it and if you don’t like it, tell them because Dr. P. does really care.
