Kumon Math and Reading Center of Chula Vista

I’m gonna paint a dire picture here. Our daughter, who’s in the second grade was struggling with Math. She had come home with a test that she failed. There were plenty of tears and sweat at the dining room table during homework time for math. Lots of yelling, resistance, it was a mess.
We decided to get her a tutor and tried Math 4 U because of the stupidest reason of all: convenience of location. After I think 3 months we saw no improvement, and we quit. During this time, our daughter failed i think 2 quarter tests.
Enter our last chance. We attended at the urging of my Mom, a Kumon orientation. We were impressed enough to sign her up. And now one month later.
I’m not exaggerating when I tell you the results have been dramatic. Our daughter can add and subtract quickly, can follow her teacher’s lectures whereas before she would get lost and start doodling, and can finish her Math homework without supervision. The other day we were out for breakfast after church, and the adults were trying to break down the cost for some events coming up. SHE DID THE MATH ALONG WITH US AND GOT THEM RIGHT, IN HER HEAD. That’s right, she did multiplication in her head without putting pen to paper. She considers math challenging but FUN now. We were floored. She kept asking us for math problems to do for fun!
I could cry with joy. I’m not exaggerating when I say her Dad and I were at our wits’ end. We’re so pleased. No matter what, we’ll find a way to keep her in Kumon.
It looks crowded but it works. Don’t let the high ratio deter you. The system works. Her previous tutoring had one on one without result. Try it, and keep at it.

Fui a las platicas de iniciación para llevar a mi hija y todo iba muy bien hasta que fui con la persona que es la dueña y no sabe OFRECER UN SERVICIO y solo quiere vender y presionarte lo que pagues por tres meses afuerza y por mas que yo le explicaba que quería solo probar por un mes ella estaba terca que eso no iba funcionar me moleste mucho por la terquedad de la mujer y aparte que estaba haciendo calor tenia como 30 a 40 ninos por horas en un cuarto adentro de un cuarto y solo tenia las puertas abierta porque no prenden el aire acondicionado (30 dll por hora hagan la cuenta) oye pues si estas pagando un servicio). Se que el método es muy efectivo pero este establecimiento deja mucho que desear.

I like this location better than their Bonita one. The lessons, homework, and teachers are great. There is usually 1 teacher to a table of 5 or 6 students. This location even has a nice little room for children younger than 6 to learn to read, write, and count. The only bad thing is this place is located in front of a super busy street and parking alone can be very dangerous. Class is only an hour, however with the busy street I highly recommend you don’t go far while waiting for your child. I jog the park across the street while waiting.

My kids love to go there and learn. I love how all the kids sit where ever they want and work on own level of math and reading. The only thing about this place, I wish this place was bigger! I have a feeling they might have to rent another space in the further. I can’t believe how busy this place is.:o This place will help your kids for sure since public school won’t teach or review enough for our children anymore. I hate when the teachers make excuse like”We have too many kids in the class and I can’t do everything”. Then I have a question for them. How come all these children in the Kumon or other place can learn so well with such a short amount of time (few days a week) but public school teachers spend so much more time and send so many home work to all the children but half of kids come home without understanding what they learned???
