Goodwill Industries of San Diego County

This store is organized, so it’s easy to quickly see if there’s something you like without having to dig through piles of junk like at some other thrift stores. Their prices are decent. I also like that they organize by color. They offer discounts, which is helpful, and the cashier who checked out my purchases was friendly. I will likely be coming back again.

Came to drop off a few things and I went to have a look around. I had never actually been to a storefront Goodwill, always drop off my donations in the back at the IB location. The clothing is fairly organized although they do have lots. I like little nick-​nacks and this is definitely the place to find them. I thought they had a lot of cool stuff and for a great price. I found a Columbia Sportswear jacket in immaculate condition for my trip to Big Bear. I had seen them online go from $ 40-​$ 70 and I got it for the low price of $ 14.99. Threw it in the wash as soon as I got home, GOOD AS NEW! I really felt like I got a Good deal at Goodwill ;)

Many wonderful items to be found. The electronics section is second-​to-​none, as well as the books and CDs. I’ve found some rather esoteric CDs for 99¢ as well as a book or two. What has really impressed me is the variety of classic video game systems that pop up from time to time.
The camera gear can get a bit expensive, hower.

The clothing on the walls is covered in dust, I highly recommend for anyone who loves a good sneeze or 5.
Lots of stained or torn clothing, but the few things I did find were reasonably priced & I walked out feeling like I got a deal.
Don’t bother with the entire right side of the store. Its. not uh, good.
I’ve been wanting to visit this store, glad I did so now I never have to come back.

I like Goodwill as a company.
This store has it’s ups and downs though.
The ups?
— Tendency to be organized — the workers here tend to have things in their right place. You have the occasional customer who grabs something, changes their mind, and places it where ever BUT for the most part it’s clean and neat.
— They’ve ALWAYS asked if I rate a discount. That little percentage goes a long way.
— Good selection for pants/​jeans
Cons?
— The way they hang their dress pants perturbs me more than it probably should, but you hang them differently than a regular pair of jeans
— Trying to get a fitting room can sometimes be troublesome — the person who’s in charge is either nearby or on the opposite side of the store and I can’t imagine why.
— Not as big as other locations I’ve been to — maybe it’s the setup but I feel like this location is rather small
I can’t really speak on behalf of women’s clothes as I don’t buy them. Overall though it’s worth a visit — you never know what you’ll find!

Clean and casual atmosphere with a friendly and helpful staff. Large selection, I am very impressed with their products. I came here to find work clothes and got EXACTLY what I needed. The music is relaxing. My girlfriend and I love to come here just to browse. The prices are great, obviously. Hours of operations are acceptable and it feels good to shop with a company that truly gives back to the community. Five out of five!

I love the goodwill and what they stand for, but I will never go to this store again. The staff is lazy and doesn’t want to do anything for their customers. I attempted to ask two different employees for assistance, and both told me they were busy and couldn’t help me. The second lady was very rude and actually upset that I stopped her. I would rather drive across san diego then to shop at this store again.

This goodwill in particular has given me such mixed service from the managers it’s a complete joke. Managers hide behind store policies and basically give you the big ol middle finger after you find out the item you bought doesn’t work even though they ‘test’ it in the back before putting it on the floor. We had some questions about the electronics return policy and she said if it doesnt work, bring it back within 24 hours to exchange it for anything else we might want if it amounts to the original purchase price of the broken item… but wait a minute, what happens if we dont find anything we want? Well, youre screwed. We asked the lady manager today when the other manager would be in so we can speak to him and all she said was she is not authorized to disclose that information. Well she might as well told us to f**ck off. Atleast the managers at the goodwill down in palm ave are friendlier but the ‘company policies’ are still just as sh*tty. Bottom line, dont gamble on items too good to be true. They will gouge you. From now they are greedwill to us. Wtf do they loose for ATLEAST giving you store credit for their own mistakes? All the damn items are donated to them anyways. Its not like they loose anything.

Prices here are getting way out of control. Need a ½ off or dollar day to move stuff. Have been looking at a set of plates for months, they are still there because they ate way overpriced!

They always have a mess here. There was a long line and only one woman on the register, standing next to her was a lazy guy. (looked young) and being just a foot away from the other register, he didn’t even bother to open a new line, he just lazily put hangers away. Once it was my turn to pay, I got the worst customer service! Ugh. First, I was not greeted. I won’t make a huge deal about that, I don’t care, it’s just a bit awkward. The woman said «is this all? Do you qualify for a student discount? –It will be $ 6» right as I’m about to hand her the money a woman looking at jewelry on the other side of the table said «oh hell no, I was next! I was in front of her in line!» You shouldn’t of gotten out of line, DUH! The cashier then apologized to her, cancelled my transaction and proceeded to check her out. The hell?! She obviously was not ready to pay if she got out of line to look at more stuff. That was just rude. Not coming back here any time soon.

Cool Cars bike! I came in with my Grandson to look for a bike and we found a Cars bike that was awesome. The paint was perfect and with just a little bit of air the $ 20.00 I paid was just amazing. This place is clean and the employee’s are super friendly including the security people. I like this place and will add them to my cool thrift stores list!

Goodwill used to be good, that was before they had their employees filter out all the vintage collectables and now there is just junk! I haven’t found anything of value there in a year and a half. Bottom line, Goodwill sucks! When have you ever seen them at a disaster helping the people or feeding the hungry or shelter for the homeless? This is Americas biggest scam. The CEO makes 3 million a year and the other vultures do quite well. Shop somewhere else.

I haven’t shopped here but I’ve donated items at this location. The employees were very friendly and assisted me right away. I’m somewhat disappointed that they no longer accept computers and electronic equipment. The closest location to donate electronics is in San Ysidro.

First of all, this Goodwill is MUCH cleaner than the one off Palm Ave. A lot less dusty (if at all) = a lot more friendly for a contact lens wearer and someone with even mild allergies
Some finds included some higher-​end, premium jeans (7 For All Mankind and Joe’s Jeans) and they have some of the better condition jeans, handbags, and shoes locked away behind glass (True Religion, Coach, Stuart Weitzman, etc.). I ended up walking away with a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans for $ 12.99, a Sweet Pea top for $ 3.99, and a pair of Ugg slippers for $ 9.99.
Probably my favorite Goodwill (so far)!

Came shopping here with my sis today. OMG. I am in love with thrift stores. I found myself a cute black and white coat, a beige coat, a navy blue long sleeve sweater and some nice black high-​heeled boots. I honestly couldn’t stop myself from searching for stuff. I also found a photo album and a mug for my boyfriend that says «the king of my heart.» I am so happy I stopped by here today. I was in no way let down, they had fitting rooms and a wide variety of items. I plan on coming back soon to use my student discount (10 percent). Hollauh!

The best thrift store in San Diego County! Oh, how I miss you.

Don’t waste your time trying to donate to this store! Call ahead to some other store. South Bay is a nice place to live. However, the shopping is terrible. I live here and shop further north! Many of the stores down here are staffed by Hispanics who don’t know a thing about customer service. This store is no exception. I tried donating some furniture and was turned away by some lady (Hispanic, of course) because she said that their «floor» was full. Can you believe it that they couldn’t find a small footprint for the two dressers (on their ends they wouldn’t take too much space! I donated my items to another service organization.

I go to this Goodwill at least once a month. They have lots of brands my son likes like Volcom and Quicksilver. I’ve found some pretty cute clothes for myself too.
The best stuff is in the housewares section. I found a huge bolt of fabric that matches my couch, BOILED EGG SHAPERS of all things and some great stuff for Christmas presents. So much great stuff for such reasonable prices. And they give a discount if you have a student id.
