Dr. Garvin knows his stuff. He does a very thorough exm — I’ve been to plenty of eye doctors and can tell the difference. He helped me learn to use contact lenses for the first time — patience was needed as I struggled with them for awhile! Also, he’s good with children and is an advocate for the importance of detecting eye problems in young kids. I brought in my toddler, who was very squirmy — Dr. Garvin did half the exam then, and had me bring him in another time«to get him comfortable» for free!

I have been going to Dr. Garvin’s office for a couple of years and I am satisfied with the service. I would agree they have a limited selection, but they do have great customer service. I don’t like the fact that he is only available certain days, but I honestly only see him once in a blue moon for my annual check ups and any follow ups which is not really a problem. They do try to accommodate you when scheduling with is perfect for me as I work a 9 – 5 job.

I made an appointment for a contact eye exam with Dr. Garvin. After my exam the Doc started shoving a free LASIK consult in La Jolla down my throat. I agreed simply to shut him up but said I still wanted contacts. He said I would need to come back after my LASIK consult to get my contacts. I came back and I was told that I needed another contact eye specific exam. When I finally got my contacts I realized they weren’t astigmatism specific because the doc didn’t think I needed them. I want contacts I can see out of, not blurred! That’s what I’m paying you for! HORRIBLE!

The wifey had gone to this optometrist back when she lived here in the 90s. I needed to use up my benefits before the end of the month, so we made appointments for the following Monday. The store has a limited selection but what they lack in product they make up in customer service.
