Well last time I had nothing but good things to say about this place. Unfortunately this last time I feel their prices were ridiculous.
The radiator on my car cracked and needed to be replaced. I went into dons auto and they informed me it’d be $ 600. I felt this was quite expensive so did some shopping around. I was able to find the radiator for $ 100, and installed for another 50.

Good mechanics are hard to come by and good service seems nearly impossible to find these days BUT that is not the case here. I received awesome service ! Don explained everything clearly, and was completely honest the entire time. He knows what he is talking about and seems to be running a great shop. Thank you so much Don, you and your shop are 5 stars for sure !!

I am a renewed arrival to San Diego/​Chula Vista. I have been looking for a mechanic that I could trust with my 2000 Honda Civic with nearly 300k miles. I think I found that mechanic in Don’s Auto. When I went to them with a diagnosis issue, if they couldn’t do it, they referred me to someone who could. Prices were reasonable. I will go back for maintenance of my car.

Went to Don for a smog check. Real nice & prices are fair. Waited for smog check & it didn’t take too long. He gave a great tip on the taco truck in front of his shop.
I would have given 5 stars but there was no cell signal or wifi in
his shop. Would have been nice to have while waiting.

Don’s is a great neighborhood mechanic. They’re honest and have very fair prices. I have two vehicles that I take there for everything possible. I’d recommend them to anyone.

I always ask the same question. Why people take jobs they hate? These mechanics are worst than Cox and time warner or the DMV combined, customer service wise.
First impression, ignore completely. Second, hey we are busy!!!
Anyway, drove away and spent my money somewhere else.

Went in last week for noisy belt problem. Guys were friendly and professional. Had three belts replaced and an oil change. Also truck had been leaking a bit of oil so had them check it out. They had it done within 3 hrs. Competitive prices and they don’t pressure you into getting other services done. Found my new mechanic!
Update: Unfortunately the belts started screeching so I took it back and left it over night so they could hear it. They adjusted belts but still make noise. Had to take it somewhere else.

Relatively new to Chula Vista so have had to look for a new mechanic. I’ve taken my wife’s car into Don twice now, both times worried that something major was going wrong and both times got out of there for very little money. I haven’t had any major repairs, but it’s a good sign that he’s been fast and affordable with little things.

I took my cts Cadillac for different issues and don took care of them with honesty and professionalism. Wish there were more of dons. Going back to take my mustang next week.
