City of Chula Vista

It can take 4 counters, 3 hours and a bunch of bs, for them to revise one page.
Be ready to waste a whole day

Thank you for your quick response on a domestic issue at my residence. Officer Rolain and another officer were very professional while on duty and resolving my domestic issue on New years day. Again, thank you for your service and commitment in keeping everyone safe.

Been living here since 2010 and i love it. Great shopping opportunities all throughout the city. Most thimgs are usually pretty close depending if your in old skool chula or the newer otay ranch hills side. East of the 805! Cv has good schools from what ive experienced in having my kids attend a few. Chula is beautiful and taken care of well. Durimg the holidays i love Going the Christmas circle and seeing all the gorgeous christmas lights. The food… yum! Lots of mexican food spots and also variety of asian food joints as well.

So many things wrong with the the city of Chula Vista, but my specific experience is in regards to the parks dept.
I had a party for my 2 year old a few weeks ago at one of their crappy parks. Reserved a gazebo plus a pony permit, online.
The day of I get a call from some asshole who could barely speak without stuttering. There was confusion as to what permit I had. They had me for a jumper, I made the reservation for ponies. Why it matters since they cost the same? No one could explain to me but it was a big enough deal for them to call me during my party, send 2 ass clown, cunt boys to the park to pull us away from our party, just for them to say end with everything was «good», & send us on our way. WHICH WAS A LIE.
We receive a notice in the mail stating they are keeping our $ 70 deposit because we had too many canopies, WHICH NOT ONE PERSON MENTIONED DURING THE CALL OR IN PERSON INTERACTION.
Now, the date was April 25^th so if you recall, it rained pretty bad. We were basically penalized for trying to keep our guests dry.
These little ass BOYS took pictures of our set up & everything. Said we were «good». Asked about the permit paperwork, said nothing about canopies. I would have been more than obliged to take a few of them down and try and cram everyone under a canopy. That’s not how they work. Anything and everything to get more money out of you is what Chula Vista is about, one of the reasons I refuse to even shop there.
Little does anyone know, nor care, this was my last attempt to restore faith in the city of Chula Vista. Nothing but bullshit rules that no one can explain so I’ve stayed away for a few years now. I straight up asked what was the harm in having the wrong permit if they cost the same? The response I was given was «we just need to know what’s going on». Ipretty much wanted to know what made this a rule, there’s always a reason or at least there should be and he couldn’t give me that he just kept repeating himself saying they need to know who’s at the park. I have held many parties in different cities and never had to go through what I do for Chula Vista, & I was born and raised there.
I am beyond ecstatic that I moved to Imperial Beach and will never let anyone in my family or friends ever book a park in Chula Vista. They are overpriced and they don’t help you understand for the money that you spend. They are a complete rip off and I should probably sue them for five times my deposit for taking me away from my daughter’s birthday party, money I spent on more than just a piece of shit park.
Imperial Beach parks are so much easier to deal with. If you’re looking for a park in Southbay, stay out of Chula Vista.

This may not be the nicest neighborhood. There are some really good restaurants here like Tacos El Gordo, MJ’s Yogurt Time and Deli, I hear that there are some good pizza places here, I haven’t tried them though. It’s nice that there’s an Ampitheatre here, though Sleeptrain isn’t my favorite venue, but if a large band is playing that you like, it’s nice to have that.
Plaza Bonita is pretty nice, Stone Oven is actually pretty good for Mall Food, I haven’t even tried TJ Oyster Bar yet or Tanganyika Grill which sounds really good. I hear that Zorba’s is good as well, I’ll just have to try them all at some point. It’s also nice that Chula Vista is close to National City which has some good places as well.
There’s also a water park here. I haven’t been to the water park, since it has been Knott’s Soak City.

I am very proud to have lived in the city of Chula Vista as I am very grateful for the law enforcement in this area. They are always quick when responding to my 911 emergency calls and great on giving me legal advice. I always felt that the police officers actually cared about my safety. They honestly deserve more credit from the community.

If I could give a minus 5 stars I so would… The city of chula vista Sucks, the police force are crooked, and stupid and don’t/won’t even back there telephone operators and there’s no real law enforcement when the COPS ARE THE BULLYS AND CRIMINALS… HOW SAD… I was recently told by an officer there’s no start and finish time anymore for disturbing the peace because everyone in Chula vista works during the day, That’s crap and a big pile of it… they also refuse to investigate reports of drug use in there favorite restaurants… I know because I reported true and known information and 1 Year later the Drug use Continues… good job C.v.p.d! Do you guys get free food for not arresting the criminals or just ignoring what the bad folks do because you can’t live without there fast food? Thanks for leaving the criminals in our community… Thanks for hiring the most arrogant people to be police officers. Thanks for never being there when we need you and for always treating us like criminals even after we call you for help. What is it that the police do other than park in handycap spots when they are perfectly fine… while they ignore and break all traffic laws, then act like they are the all mighty when there are only BULLYS with GUNS… for the remainder of my life I will always spread the news on the city of Chula vistas VERY PATHETIC POLICE FORCE FULL OF BULLYS WITH LOADED WEAPONS AND THE RIGHT TO SHOOT… THIS USED TO BE SUCH A QUAINT LITTLE COMMUNITY UNTIL THE GATES OPENED UP, ITS INFECTED WITH THE NASTIEST HOMELESS BUMS IN TOWN… AND NOBODY DOES A THING…

Love this place! There are so many shops and restaurants here to choose from. Especially near the Eastlake area, the area is nice and there are lots of parks where we live which is great for our daughter!

This is and has always been my hood. I was born in Chula Vista and grew up running the streets. If you are a CV kid you either went to Hilltop, CV high, or Castle Park. I was lucky enough to go to hilltop.
If you were too, you would remember hoagies, Lolitas, Farrell’s, Skating Rink, The Vogue, Fiesta Twin, La Bella’s, Fur’s cafeteria, hilltop park, the Carousel at Chula Vista center, Don Diego, Kanpai, Hogetsu, Foodland and it burning down. So many great memories that I associate with Chula Vista.
I grew up in a much safer time but I still feel good about bringing my kids up in the same hood. To my surprise some of the same people from shops, the neighborhood, and schools are still around. If makes me smile when they remember me and tell my kids they knew me when I was a kid. I love my Chula Vista!

* Great neighborhoods.

* J street Marina park.
* Great restaurants.
* Amazing weather.
* Knott’s Soak City.
* The Star News.
* Great diversity.
* Nature Center.
* Great libraries.
* Hilltop.

Couldn’t tear me away from the Northwest part of Chula Vista-​and yes, our family is gringo e gringa. I agree that more investment needs to be made by the City on the West side of 805, but still, just love the patchwork quilt quality to the houses and the working class sincerity that most of the neighbors have around here.

I love living in chula vista but they need to start investing more in the rest of the city and not just eastlake, otay ranch, etc.

I love chula, if my friends and loved ones didn’t live so far away from there, i’d be a resident.
I go to Chula for football twice a week. Coming from east county it is very convienent. The 125 even has a toll road that will take you places that you normally have to take the 125 to 94 back to 125 to 54 to the 805.
People are usually pretty nice also. I never have had an issue while there and don’t plan on it happening anything soon (Watch tonight something bad is gonna happen). They are building like crazy out there and trying to get Chula back to its old glory.
They have tons of good authentic mexican food. Why go to mexico when you get the same stuff here? Only differences is no passport and no cartel shootings.
Chula Vista is a nice place to be. Not to mention their little league program is much better now.

East Chula Vista is a really nice place with new housing developments and a new mall in Otay Ranch. Very cool mall with a doggy park behind Macy’s. West side is also great and close to the water. I visit my cousin in Chula Vista every year and we always have a lot of fun.

CHULA VISTA!!! I remember my aunt’s house across the street from the Trolley station just off the the H street exit on I5. So many memories! It’s too damn bad that they didn’t get a Tacos El Gordo right around the corner until recently. I could have been quite the little chunkster if they had those tasty tacos so available back then. You would swear that carne asada was invented here!
