Church of the Most Precious Blood

My daughter and I attended mass for the first time at this church this past Christmas Eve. It’s hard to find a midnight mass in the county anymore and the bonus was that it is so close to our house. I am mobility disabled and have not attended mass for @4 years so my daughter, who attends mass regularly at St Pious treated me to this special evening mass. It was so nice and as soon as the choir started their beautiful music the tears started to flow. I am so thankful that I’ve found a new church to attend.

What a very human, down to earth with faith church this is. Father Paul was so genuine when he gave his homilies, relating scripture and Church teachings to every day life that made sense.
He was recently replaced by Father Emilio, another practical and realistic priest. From a family of Tijuana policemen, he got the calling and entered the priesthood seven years ago. Like Fr. Paul, very human in his teachings.
I especially loved his seventh anniversary. He stepped from the pulpit and facing the congregation gave a slide presentation of his ordination. And the humanness of his simple story was wonderful.
He pointed out his mother who was sitting behind us and the pride glowing from her face was beautiful.
And both of these marvelous priests received spontaneous applause after the announced, «The Mass is over, go in peace.» APPLAUSE! Have basically never experienced such appreciation and acceptance in a church.
The nuns who run the parochial education do a great job, which includes a ministry in Tijuana. The office staff is available, supportive and runs the show efficiently and with kindness.
A simple, rather poor congregation with wonderfully supportive priests, nuns and staff.
Anyone, Catholic or not, will appreciate the relaxed and friendly services which are also religiously serious in helping us live better lives.

This is the best place to be if you want to be a part of youth and young adult. Everybody is welcoming and you will quickly feel like family. Choir is fantastic and the atmosphere is laid back without losing focus on what we are therefor, God.

Quaint South Bay community church
Built in 1957, this small Catholic church has been serving the surrounding community on the southwest side of Chula Vista for over 50 years. Today, the congregation is nearly all Hispanic with a small group of Filipino parishioners.
The church has two rows of pews, a few statues, and minimal decorations. For a beautiful view of the low-​resting stained glass windows, visit the church later in the day. The window of Our Lady of Guadalupe is gorgeous, as is the blue window at the front of the church behind the altar.

This is a small neighborhood church in Chula Vista.
The interior is very traditional: two aisles of wooden pews. The altar area is also more «old school,» and very simple. You almost feel like the priest should say mass with his back to the congregation.
I’ve attended service here when it is completely full, yet parking didn’t seem to be a problem.
