A VERY DIFFERENT KIND OF SCHOOL
Black Belt Tae Kwon Do Studios is a family-run martial arts school that focuses on teaching character, discipline, self-defense, endurance, fitness and leadership.
The school’s Grandmaster Tiger Hong is an 8th Dan Black Belt, and was the 1980 World Champion, as well as the 1978 – 1980 winner of the Korean National Tae Kwon Do Championships. The school’s Masters have decades of martial arts, education, leadership and even military and law enforcement experience.
Curriculum ranges from children as young as 4, to teenagers and adults, with an emphasis on competition, self-defense and leadership.
Black Belt Studios is owned by Gloria World Mission, a 501© 3 non-profit organization. Proceeds from the school go towards charity projects throughout Latin America, including orphanages, churches, homeless outreach and development programs. Key projects are based in Northern Mexico, the Chiapas region of Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
History
Established in 1982.
Black Belt Studios was originally founded in Tijuana, Mexico. Grandmaster Tiger Hong was sent in 1982 from Korea to Mexico to spread the art of Tae Kwon Do. Subsequently he became director of the Baja California Mexico Tae Kwon Do Government State Office, and since then, Black Belt Studios has grown with locations throughout Mexico.
Black Belt Studios came to the United States in 1996, to Chula Vista, CA. Currently serving as headquarters for all of the Studios, Black Belt Studios in Chula Vista is a non-profit organization. Proceeds from the Studio go towards charity and ministry work throughout Latin America.

Business Owner
Grandmaster Tiger Hong is a world-renown Tae Kwon Do instructor. He is a high-enough rank to be recognized by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation in Seoul, Korea as being able to award his own black belts. Subsequently, all black belts awarded at Black Belt Studios are recognized internationally — WTF-recognized black belts are necessary for competition at official national and international WTF/Olympic tournaments.
The Grandmaster is also a missionary, and spends the majority of his time in ministry in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Black Belt Studios is a non-profit organizations — proceeds go to support this important charity work.
