4 stars! Because they’re dog friendly and I’d like to drop in again sometime to taste more of their beers. Otherwise, the service I received here was superb. The owner, Doug, went above and beyond his duties as a bartender working at the time and was just a genuinely nice guy. People like him are deserving of success! When I walked in here with my dog to watch the last hour of the game, he welcomed us graciously then took my order. I opted for 3 tasters only since a flight of 5 sounded a bit hefty for an hour visit. Tasters were $ 2.50 a la carte otherwise, a flight of 5 was $ 10. You save about $ 2.50 buying a flight, so definitely worth it if you can handle 28oz of beer(almost two pints). Tasters were brought to my table… Then, Doug was the man and poured a fresh bowl of water for my dog. Free treats were provided too! The Star of India IPA definitely stood out to me as it was a well-balanced IPA with just the right amount of hop bite to make for a refreshing but easy to drink beer. The nitro stout infused with espresso was also enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised at how prevalent the coffee was in this beer even on nitro(which, if you didn’t know, tends to smooth drinks out, but could at times dilute out flavors). The place is slightly haphazardly organized, but the tasting room area was large with plenty of seating. There was 1 flat screen TV behind the bar, but it was easily view-able from a distance. There was also a shuffle board table although it was a bit small. Free snacks in the form of pretzels provided, but you’re free to bring your own food to enjoy. Overall, thoroughly satisfied with my experience here! It’s so reassuring to know that a brewery exists in my hood. Am certainly looking forward to the next beers they roll out.

We have been meaning to come check this place out for awhile and I’m so glad we finally did! We see Doug & Jim at a lot of events, like the recent Taste of Eastlake, and have always enjoyed their beers and conversation. We walked in here on a Friday night and the place was rather busy which was great to see! We grabbed a couple seats at the bar and my husband ordered a pint while I chose to do the 5 tasters for $ 10. I had both IPAs, the amber and the 2 wheat beers including the featured Horchata Wheat. I loved everything! The Horchata Wheat is unique but so good, and definitely worth trying, it’s tough to put it into words. We talked with Jim while we drank and had a great time. We will be coming back here often for sure, I can’t wait to check out trivia night with tacos!

My cousin from LA and I are beer enthusiasts. After a trip to the SD Zoo we felt like getting a growler from ballast point. I decided to not go that route and looked up breweries that were closer to my house(Chula Vista). Found this place and had a flight/tasters and every beer I tried was bomb !!! After my cousin and I finished our flights we agreed that the Horchata was what we were going to get for our growler. Atmosphere was pretty chill. Im surprised it wasn’t packed. Definitely going to bring friends and family here !

Came on a Saturday, seems like they have live bands playing rock n roll Saturday nights(awesome!), good amount of people and good beers! Beers are true to styles and are what you’d want in each style of beer! Will definitely come back for growler fills and pints

I met two of my friends here for drinks, and I really loved the beer. And the owners were so gracious and accommodating. We figured there wouldn’t be food there, but we got hungry and asked if a food truck would be coming. He said no, but he recommended a restaurant close by that delivers. So we ordered from the menu they had on hand from the place. We ordered pizza and it was fabulous! I wish I knew the name of the place to give them a shout out, but I can’t remember. When it seemed like the pizza was taking a while(which it wasn’t, we were just really buzzed and hungry) one of the owners called to check on it for us! Really cool. We also played in a football contest at no cost and my friend won a growler(sp?) of beer to take home. I got the sampler of beer and it was awesome! There wasn’t a beer I didn’t like. And it was great that he served the beer samples one by one so it wouldn’t get warm. Great prices for great beer! I can think of several people I would love to bring back here with me. Thank you for a great experience!

We have been waiting a long time to get a brewery in old CV. I only tried the IPA’s but they were outstanding. Would have to give the nod to the Bill of Rights Red IPA. Very friendly staff!

My husband and I really wanted to check out a local brewery in Chula Vista and had just read about this one in the UT. We were pleasantly surprised when we found it located in South Chula Vista. The Brewer And part owner Doug, was behind the bar serving. My husband tried both of the IPAs, the Bill of Rights and the star of India both were delicious but his favorite was the Bill of Rights. What’s different about these IPAs is that they are Chris without being dry and fruity without being overly hobby. I change of pace from all of the West Coast style IPAs here in San Diego. I tried the America’s Finest Amber and the Rolling Hills Irish Red. It was close but I ended or up ordering a second of the amber it was a perfect balance of hops and malt. Not only is the beer great but so was the service! And the atmosphere is open and relaxed, I’m so glad this brewery opened up a tasting room!

Yes! Chula Vista’s first Microbrewery Tasting Room! Cool place, edgy location. Located in the industrial park on Anita Street off Palomar between Industrial and Broadway. Unassuming store front, plenty of parking and a short walk from the trolley. But then you walk through the doors to the Brewery — that’s where all the magic happens. Two friends, Jim Shirey and Doug Chase are the brewers and owners. They started brewing beer in their back yards about 20 years ago and their hobby turned to passion and then into a business. You sit among the giant barrels and taste their 6 different brews. A guest beer will also be on tap soon. Food trucks will provide food on busy nights. The Islander IPA is excellent and the Irish Red is an International Beer Festival Winner. There is a wheat and a blonde as a well as an Amber and Pale Ale. I attended a Private party here but it is opening soon! Don’t miss this one…
