Definitely a 5 STAR mobility store. I had surgery that left me needing temporary mobility assistance and after making several calls around the San Diego area in search of not just devices, but I desperately needed advice as well. The guy who greeted me as I arrived,(Nick) asked me several questions in regard to my mobility needs like would I be needing to travel to stores or around my neighborhood as well as my in home needs-​to avoid a long drawn out story, I have to say I was completely overwhelmed with the great knowledge, and kind hearted ness I received while there. This place has the biggest display and inventory of any other I’ve seen. if you’re needing anything mobility related, I strongly suggest you go straight to Alternative Mobility.

I“ve been San Diego 30 years and this is by far the best place for scooter repair. They come quickly and get the job done. I have dealt with others who never show up, don’t want to fix a scooter if you didn’t buy it there and who were too costly. Nick is honest and seriously takes into consideration that we need our wheelchairs and scooters fixed quickly! Adam his tech is also very nice helpful! Give this place a call!

This is the best place to find mobility items in the area. I have purchased many items (wheel chair, mobility scooter, cane chair, etc.) from Nick and he is always so helpful. I know that I am always going to get a fair price and good service. I have such confidence in this place that when people ask me where I bought my scooter or cane chair, I give them one of Nick’s business cards.

I REALLY appreciated the little bit of work I had done here. I forget the name of the gentleman who helped me, but he was clearly honest, and works with a great deal of integrity. He quoted me amazingly reasonable prices for the work I needed to have done. Unfortunately, the airline had broken my mobility device, and due to contracts went with another repair shop who charged at least FOUR TIMES as much as Alternative Mobility would have. This shop, and these folks are awesome, honest, and have integrity. To me, those are some of the most important qualities I would look for especially when it comes to my mobility and ability to get around in the world. Look no further. Make the drive, and support this awesome shop.

My parents and I were in San Diego on vacation and they forgot to pack the battery charger for my father’s electric wheelchair. So, I looked up the manufacturer’s website and called over 20 stores in San Diego trying to locate a charger. Turns out, the battery chargers are usually a special order product.
Luckily, the last store on the list was Alternative Mobility and they had it in stock! The store’s owner Nick gave us great directions from our hotel to his store and had it all ready for us when we arrived. His store is conveniently located right off the freeway and had all kinds of wheelchairs, lifts, and even hospital beds. He also rents chairs out and services broken chairs.
I would highly recommend Alternative Mobility to anyone in San Diego who needs any type of wheelchair product. Thanks Nick! You saved our vacation!
