My overall experience with the AAA, Chula Vista branch was great. A young man named Michael McCarthy helped with my policy. He was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I live all the way in Julian and drive to work in San Diego and Michael was very mindful of my specific needs and was honest about what would be best to include in my policy. He was easy to reach and also very prompt with his work and responses. My own profession demands outstanding customer service. When I am a client and I am given outstanding service I like to make it known. Michael did just that.

I went in for DMV services. The three persons I encountered were condescending. They make the assumption you don’t know what you’re talking about and put up all sorts of barriers as to why they cannot assist. Then after arguing, they finally get around to doing what you need done. Why all the drama to begin with. Just take care of the member’s business and forget the drama, please. Next time, I’ll go to the DMV and stand in line than deal with these queens.

A nightmare that has not ended yet.
There accounting department has over 1000 dollars of my money and it has taken over a month and counting to handle. I have been with AAA for years
I have ally insurances from life to home to auto through AAA. I have gone up the chain of commend and no resulation. I’m now informing you to beware.
This has become a giant head ache no one deserves

aaa offices are ideal for dmv car registration. a lot less people and you might wait half the time you spend at dmv w/​out an appointment.

Got everything here for my trip to Costa Rica. Flights and hotel all inclusive and last minute too booked a week before and It has seriously been super easy and stress free. Omg can’t wait for my vacation the lady that was or trace agent was amazing and going to pick up our paper work was super easy. BUt on my trip! That’s another story
This is after my trip had to change my review for the fact that we were a family flying together and she booked our seats apart. For every flight! Smh! Anyways not only that we booked two hotels in Costa Rica and the first one was amazing since we chose all inclusive and the second hotel was a hole in the wall. The worst stay ever! nothing around the food was not inclusive. It was that bad we had to pay to change hotels out of pocket!!! The room was awful!!! How didn’t she noticed that we were booked from the westin to a shack? Not impressed stayed only one night and was supposed to stay for 3. We left and went back to the westin. To top it off we couldn’t even get in contact with Pleasant holidays that our insurance was under. Just horrible.

The initial quote I was given online was different from the one provided by the local representative. This was not such an issue since there might have been different questions and therefore different information that could have modified the initial quote. No other information was requested or provided, but a week later I received a phone call requesting me to go in again to review my policy. An addition amount had to be paid to keep my existing policy. The final straw of extortion and shakedown was I received a letter informing me that an addition $ 65 will be needed to maintain my current policy. These increases were all within a three week period. I have never made a claim and I have never had an accident. EVER.
Then when I cancelled my policy and then my daughter’s (we both found policies at a quarter of the premium), on both occasions they said that the check was in the mail and after a month and numerous calls where I was given different and conflicting information, they said they will re-​issue the checks. Independently, my daughter experienced the same process of «The Check is in the Mail.» This is not a hiccup but policy at the office in Chula Vista. A corrupt system of extortion and delays.

Miguel will stay late, open early, and work an extra day for you which is great if you work during the week. Agent didn’t try to upsell me too much on unnecessary services that weren’t pertinent to my life and is a wealth of knowledge if you’re asking the right questions. I had a great experience and will recommend that everyone goes with triple A.

I wish I was writing a positive review but my experience with AAA has been completely awful. After shopping around for quotes, an agent called me and said she had a much better deal than what the guy in the call center had quoted me. I listened and after sending multiple quotes to me, I ultimately gave in and decided to buy a policy with them. After calling me relentlessly to get me to sign up, I was a little taken aback by how unresponsive they were once I forked over the down payment.
Part of the reason I decided to buy with AAA was because of their «personalized service.» That’s complete bogus, in my experience. The agent who worked with me fell off the face of the earth once I signed up, and her colleague called me to get follow-​up info I had already given the first agent. He was completely unhelpful and equally as horrible at returning my calls or emails.
To put a cherry on top, after waiting OVER A MONTH since signing up (and driving around with no car insurance, mind you), I finally received my paperwork in the mail and guess what? It was about $ 200 more/​year than the policy I agreed to! And there was no way of reaching either agent to correct this – I tried and tried.
In fact, I had to go to the AAA branch in West Hollywood to get someone to correct information on my policy (Thank you, Cynthia Smith!) that both agents at the Chula Vista branch lackadaisically failed to apply. AVOID at all costs.

I’ve been a AAA member for the past 17 years. Ive used their insurance, travel and DMV services for years. Ive not had a problem with any of these services in the past so when i received an email from AAA asking if I wanted to join there «Protect my ID» program I did.
I did ask qualifying questions like when i purchase this plan through AAA will I then have to continue purchasing other things or is this plan all inclusive?
They informed me that with the basic plan yes I would have to purchase other items such as credit reports and so on. If I purchased the «deluxe» version their would be no other costs.
THAT WAS A COMPLETE LIE!
When first logging in you have to check their privacy & policy boxes in order to move forward. They also had a box that for send me marketing and newsletters that was optional. I didn’t check that box but it kept send me back to that page four times until it eventually allowed me to finish logging in.
After logging in I discovered that They provided very minimum but allowed you to purchase this and that for additional costs of around $ 39.95 each.
I took this «Protect my ID» third party company seriously because it came from AAA. Now I’m really concerned that I had to provide them with my Social Security number and credit card numbers. I’ve been attempting to contact someone at the corporate office but I’m finding out that they are very elusive.
Anyone have any suggestions on contacting a AAA corporate officer?

I have been coming to this location for the past two years. I’ve utilized their services for a number of things. I booked a vacation to Paris from here and I’ve also talk to somebody about life insurance. I also have registered a couple vehicles through here. I had no idea that you can register vehicles! I wish I had known about that service years ago! That is so awesome because the wait is far far less than going to the DMV. I have been in and out in literally less than 15 minutes getting my car registered versus the DMV waiting for two hours. I do wish though they took a credit card for the DMV services though. You have to have cash or a check… The two things I don’t carry.
The only negative thing I don’t like is when I booked my vacation, I had to pay a fee to utilize their services. I thought that’s what my yearly fee was for? But, they did everything for me. They arranged my pick up from the airport, arrange my plane ticket, my hotel stay, the visits and sightseeing, dinners, and drive back to the airport. Service was outstanding!
The wait to see somebody is always less than 15 minutes. It’s located in the Vons parking lot next to Cox Cable. It’s right off of Telegraph and 805 freeway. And they give a $ 10 off coupon to a smog only center that’s located in the far west end near the shopping center. Overall I’m pleased with the services… Except they did away with their free spare plastic keys that they used to make for customers. Oh well can’t win them all.

Excellent customer service, my insurance agent made me feel comfortable and taken care of. Anytime I have a question, I can call or message him anytime, he gets backs within minutes. Besides being a great company and all the discounts, I have the best insurance agent and feel at ease. Ask for Colby Young as your agent: D

Look no further if you’re in need of insurance. We recently purchased a policy for our parents since they continued to get ripped off by a neighborhood broker who never hesitated to include any discounts– even though both my parents are considered good drivers by the state of California and they qualify for multiple vehicle discounts and senior rates. Insurance agent, Colby Young is the epitome of what customer service should be. Considering the language barrier, Mr. Young was able to effectively communicate with my parents and managed to successfully provide us an affordable rate. My parents easily sensed his positive demeanor and willingness to help; never did we feel pressured to purchase policy. Some things are easily conveyed even without the need to speak, like my parents’ experience with Colby. I can confidently express that we are going to attempt to be lifetime AAA members as long as Young continues to serve as our agent.

AAA has the best value for the money. Besides towing… they have so many other things to offer: Today I registered my car with the tags included in five minutes.

I recently went to the AAA office in Chula Vista to process my registration. It was helpful that they offer this service but they need to add more staffing. I had to wait about an hour due to it being overcrowded. It was better than the DMV but its starting to feel like it.

Overall good experience and saved me money on my home and auto insurance. My agent Michael McCarthy was very knowledgable and came up with the best policy to fit my needs as well as followed up with me on payments and renewals when it came time due to my special circumstance with receiving mail at my property. Ive been a member for many years along with my wife. Great service both in the office and in the field. Don’t carry homeowners insurance or auto insurance because we found a slightly better deal from a broker; otherwise highly recommended, especially if you change ownership on cars more than the average person and own older vehicles. DMV work at AAA is THEE BEST AND FASTEST!

Miguel Romo has from the Chula Vista office has lied to my face ! Back in May of 2013 he came to my home to photo a bus I wanted to add to my policy he took photos of my truck that had a lumber rack on it and had my policy terminated at that time without informing me, today 2−27−14 I find this out. I had been without insurance not knowing for 9 months thinking that my auto payment was in good standing.
So I noticed today that I haven’t received any mail from AAA for a while so I inquire to find this news… I canceled all my dealings with AAA today and tell you that AAA in Chula Vista does not act on your best interest and that Miguel Romo is should be fired!!! Don’t put ur trust in him!

Horrible service. Just got off the phone with Miguel. Said he was busy and had to call me back after not answering the phone with a Hello or Hi. THIS IS MIGUEL he says. Whack!

Nothing like hearing your sibling (in my case, my brother) rave about what awesome insurance he has. Okay, I was a bit jealous. I was paying an arm and a leg through 21^st Century Insurance, who happen to have poor customer service.
Thankfully, my brother put me in touch with Julie, a AAA sales agent. She was extremely friendly and easy to work with. The quote I got would save me several hundred dollars per year. She clearly and concisely explained what would be covered under my policy and answered all of my questions.
I have to say the biggest part of getting AAA was the roadside assist. Before AAA, when I got a flat or had a dead battery, I called my brother or dad to trek out to wherever I am and help me out. Now? Hello, AAA! I already used roadside assist to help out with a flat. No face of shame and fake tears were used, since I didn’t have to call the fam for help.
Am I glad I signed up for AAA? You betcha!

DMV access. Review can be over with that alone! I hate waiting in lines at the DMV but at least here you have very little wait when conducting DMV business.
I have also had them plan a few vacations. I left with maps, coupons and everything I needed to make my trip run smoothly! They can give you estimates on your dream vacations too. Oh Atlantis, Bora Bora, Australia, Spain and so many other places… one day I’ll make it there!
Insurance is a little high but because I have my car and house insurance together I get a little discount. Having a teenage driver is not cheap! But at least I have peace of mind that if anything does happen we are covered!
