We love the southern chicken sandwich. The homemade chips are awesome, especially dipped in ranch. I love that you have healthy options for sides too. And you HAVE to try the brownie warm. Soooo good. Cups are cool too

Straight forward – great deli sandwiches! love the club, reuben, french dip and homemade chips. We were skeptical but the sandwiches are tasty. I suspect the meat is Boar’s Head or similar quality but it tastes great. I am not sure where the bread is from but the brioche rolls are good too. LOVE the homemade chips.
Really hope they add pickles… those seem standard with a sandwich and chips!

Al’s is a great place to get deli sanwiches. My favorite is a sandwich called «Jacked Up Turkey», which has fresh sliced turkey, bacon, jack cheese, and chipotle mayo on fresh Italian bread. It’s delicious. I get it with fries, cooked fresh, and seasoned perfectly. The staff is friendly and very helpful. A perfect place for lunch or dinner.

The best place in the New River Valley to get a sandwich. From the owner who greets you at the door, to the service which is quick and friendly, down to the souvenir cup that you get to keep. This place is AWESOME! The best part though, their ability to make a sandwich! Go there or miss out.

So happy to have a real deli here in Christiansburg! We’ve been for lunch & also gotten take-​out several times and have never been disappointed. The meats and breads are always super fresh. Lots of variety on the menu so there’s something for everyone. My favorite is the Reuben, its the best I’ve ever tasted! Second favorite is the Southern Chicken. Make sure you get the homemade chips for your side. YUM! We have always been greeted by the management and staff, they even remember our names. Love having this place right up the street!

Stopped here for a non-​fast food lunch close to the interstate and was very impressed. The manager, as well as all of the employees, were very friendly and everything was clean and set up to be very organized and pleasing to the eye. We ordered the club and jacked up turkey sandwiches and were very pleased with both… all fresh deli meats and very yummy bread baked on site. The seasoned homemade chips were also very good. The potato soup flavor was delicious, but the chunks of potatoes were a little on the hard side. The dessert was AMAZING! If you like Key Lime pie, you must try their homemade pie, and the chocolate chip cookies were great too!

This is my favorite place to get lunch in Christiansburg. Who is Al? I haven’t talked to the guy much, but he’s the one that always has a broom in his hand. The dude keeps the place spotless. The entire staff is courteous and attentive. I haven’t had a sandwich I didn’t love; the Southern Roasted Chicken Sandwich is my favorite. It’s not the cheapest sandwich place in town, but it’s the best. Get the daily special to save a few bucks. I don’t care for the homemade chips; I think pretzels would be a better idea since there are also bagged chips, but maybe that’s just me.

Needed a quick [non-​chain] lunch while passing through Blacksburg/​christiansburg. Al’s was great. Location was convenient, less than a mile from 460 and 81. Crowd was steady but never slammed.
My sandwich came out hot on crusty French bread. I actually took some meat off because it was so filling. I don’t know if they make their own desserts, but the pretzel browny was super rich and could be shard by two.
Bottom line, a great stop off if you want a quick lunch in Christiansburg.

Went here for the 1st time today. Spacious and well laid out with a nice selection of sandwiches and salads. Many drinks to choose from. Homemade chips are delicious and service was fast. Spoke to the owner and he will be adding more items to the menu. Brioche rolls are delicious so I bought some. Be sure to try the fried green beans.

Stopped in for lunch today around 12:00 very busy. Only one person making sandwiches and three or four waiting to serve them to the tables. We ordered almost immediately and received our lunch 45 minutes later. Food was tasty but service was horrible. Girl at register had no personality and everyone there who worked there looked like they hated their jobs and were sleep walking through the day. I will not return. A management overhaul would go a long way here.

As far a a deli sandwich shop goes this place has it going on. We arrived at the tail end of lunch hour and ordered the Italian and the Reuben. Both sandwiches were well crafted on delicious bread with mouth watering sauces! Not to mention the homemade chips! We barely waited for our food and enjoyed the atmosphere and classic rock selections playing. The place is also very clean and the staff are warm and approachable.
We will definitely be back– this is a great lunch spot or a nice place for an easy dinner.

First visit. Great impression. Nice and clean and comfortable atmosphere. Interesting menu with choice of sides including some good sweet slaw and really good homemade potato chips. I got the French dip on crusty Baguette. Good portion of very tender roast beef on a crisp chewy baguette. Quick service and friendly staff. Will come again for sure.

Basic deli type big sandwiches. w/​fresh sides, You can customize you sandwich of course. They will then bring your order to your table, self serve soft drinks.
I liked the cole slaw, so-​so for the prepacked «tangerines»
Gave us a free cookie as that days extra treat.

I have no idea what the bad ratings are about, I was so surprised when we are here today, because from the outside it really doesn’t look like much. I expected really basic southern diner style food, but it’s not like that at all! Imagine a Firehouse Subs combined with a Jimmy Johns, and that’s similar to what it reminded me of. Very well thought out, they have the newest machines and ovens; the bread is all cooked In front of you. The menu is all sandwich based, and extremely good value for what you get; I didn’t see many things over $ 6. I actually have no idea how they’re making money. My chicken sandwich was awesome, and so was the club. We had a problem with too much sauce, and the manager made us another one free of charge. Extremely nice. More people need to go here! They have a take out section too, so it’s good when you’re in a hurry

The deli opened late October. The restaurant is in a location that may not catch the eye… but do look for it! The staff was friendly, and the food was great! My chicken salad was wonderful. My boyfriend had the club sandwich, and said it was great. It had a ton of meat! The menu prices are very reasonable, and the menus offers a nice selection of items. The restaurant is is definitely brand new, and very nice. The atmosphere is casual, and had a cool vibe. I recommend to try it out!
