Straw Hat Pizza

Thought I’d give it a shot since it was good back when I was younger. Wings were so bad I asked for a refund. Way too greasy. And straight up the pizza is not good especially when you pay $ 18 for a med Works and it has no flavor. There was a lot of dirty tables too and nobody was cleaning them up. I’ll never be back.

This place has got some nasty pizza. Tastes like greasy cardboard. No wonder they have to go around offering coupon books cuz this place is the pits. Don’t know how this place has stayed in business all these years. There’s so many other better places to go

I had brought my three young boys to this establishment because their school had given them a coupon for a free personal pizza. They each optioned for a pepperoni personal pizza. I myself shared a small pizza with chicken, tomatoes and bell peppers.
It looked appealing when we arrived for lunch. Just a few patrons. The bathrooms were dirty and smelly. The pizza was not good. From the sauce to the crust. It was not worth purchasing full price. Sauce was bland and the crust tasted like cardboard. Sadly we will not be returning.

This is a fun place! I walked in and picked up my phone order. The restaurant had a salad bar, and some arcade games and prizes for whoever wants to play those games and win prizes. Customer service was good, and the meatball sub I ordered was delicious.
I like that they cut it up into pieces, so it was easier to eat. I wish they had put some more marinara sauce with the meatballs. However, there was sufficient cheese. Thank goodness for that! The potato wedges were nice and moist, seasoned to perfection. I like that they added a pickle in with the meal. The restaurant inside, was also clean. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Order two hours ahead of time. They took an hour and kept saying five more minutes. I finally get my pizza and everyone says they hate it, and the sauce tastes weird. Glad I only paid half price for this crap!

We get to the buffet the foods not ready, your standing at the register waiting to be attended and the guy is on the phone doesnt even tell us «oh ill be right with you» nothing! Bad customer service ended up going to shakeys lunch buffet dont regret it. never coming back here again.

Visited Straw Hat on 8÷21÷15 and it was awesome! My family and I had the appetizer plate (chicken; potato logs; bread sticks) and two large pizzas. The service was friendly and prompt and we all really enjoyed our visit. I love their pizza — it always tastes fresh and unique. I love the sauce! The bathrooms were very clean and well-​stocked too.

Lunch buffet was Good it was different. That they wanted to come and serve you the pizza straight from the oven. It would of beeen nice for me to be able to get my own pizza so I wont feel rush in making a decision then and there. thats the only reason why you choose to eat buffet.

They have re vamped this place. It looks fresher and cleaner. They have a few beers on draft. Arcade games where they spit out tickets for the kids to get prizes. Bathrooms are clean. I had their lemon pepper chicken pizza… It had cilantro chicken red onions zucchini no marinara sauce and what I think was Parmesan cheese. It was really tasty. But I couldn’t pass up the salad bar. Not anything fancy but has the basics. Good enough for me. Haven’t been here in a few but it was nice when I walked in. Come and try it. Nothing like this place is bomb or totally off the hook. But the pizza was different and had me thinking about it a few times over:)

..everyone knows I LOVE PIZZA… but, my favorite of them all is Straw Hat Pizza in Chino. I have been coming to Straw hat since the early 80’s and it tastes AMAZING!

I ordered the weekday lunch buffet for $ 8.49. Salad bar, pasta bar, and a waitress passing around a variety of fresh hot pizza slices. But what really stands out is the service. I made a comment to owner Jim that my kids would just love it here and he’s gone out of his way to make sure I return. He offered to make a custom special mini pizza with my own three toppings. Noticed I was searching for the forks because they were all in the dishwasher so he said «I’ll bring one over to your table». Made sure the pizza person came by and offered all the normal slices even after getting my own personal pizza. All while managing a room full of kids, busy moms and a plumber handling some type of minor clog or what not. Grace under pressure! If you live here and don’t come here already you’re missing out… with kids or without.

5 stars for parking
4 stars for having arcades and keeping the kids entertained while we ordered.
3 stars for speed of service
3 stars for price (average) We paid $ 34, which included large pizza, sampler platter of appetizers, and 4 drinks
4 stars for speed of food being done (sometimes a pizza can take forever)
1 star for décor. It’s literally like going back in time 20 years.
1 star for cleanliness (how clean can it be after 20 years of *business* use!? Lol!!)

Wednesdays are a steal!!! 50% off any pizza !!! Had the Works pizza and the 6 piece buffalo wing order … Pizza sauce is authentic and you can taste the herbs in the sauce … Staff is amazing … Super friendly & welcoming !!! 2^nd time here and I will be returning !!!

I have to give them an outstanding rating for carrying the Gluten, Egg, Dairy, Soy Free crust! I added Chicken and Onions to their standard pizza sauce (no cheese), and it was delicious!
I have been waiting and hoping to find a place that could make a decent pizza that I could eat. I’m even more excited by the fact that they have ½ price Wednesdays and they are just up the street. And I was impressed that the staff took my nontraditional pizza request in stride and executed it perfectly. I have a feeling we will be eating a lot more pizza now.

This place has amazing pizza. That prefect cheese!
Great for quick lunches. Good for team parties. Chris is awesome. We went in on a very busy day with our team and he was able to keep up with all of the orders. And the pizza was amazing. It didn’t look or taste like a rushed job.

Under new management; Eric is attentive and inspired making changes for the better. If you have not been in lately or never tried, you MUST go. Ignore past reviews. Pizza is great. Not at all greasy. Generous toppings, fresh and always hot. Excellent service, and great value. Actually left Disneyland to get a pizza there. Had some wine too, watched some basketball. I eat there very often and can’t wait to go back!

I am updating my review because I just had the PAN Pizza and tried the cinnamon rolls which make ALL the difference!
I went last night for ½ price pizza (which is how this poor graduate can get away with some good pizza) and got a medium pan pizza (for pan pizza you can only choose medium or large). I customized it myself since I’m picky and had: artichoke hearts, olives, mushrooms, and EXTRA cheese! This pizza took a little longer to cook but it was oh so worth it! The crust is nice and soft like pillows and all the toppings went so well together! I can’t wait to go back and try the Greek and Aloha Chicken. I was very sad that I was so full that I couldn’t just order those then. I’ll have to wait until next time. :(My best friend ordered the king size regular crust with: sausage, olives, mushrooms, AND BACON. I would like to make a note right here that I am also picky with my bacon. It better be cooked just right or I will have nothing to do with it! This bacon was perfect! I was so happy to steal one of his slices and enjoyed it! (and I had another one for breakfast today!) This has by far been the best SHP experience I’ve had. But wait– it only gets better! I got to try the cinnamon rolls! Let’s just say now I know the salad bar is worth it. The cinnamon rolls are sooo good! Normally they are warm, but the one I had had been hanging out with the chilled veggies so it got cold BUT it was still so good! It’s just doused in beautiful glaze and the whole thing was a parade in my mouth! I recommend getting the salad bar if you wanna be «healthy». If you don’t want to be healthy, get the salad bar and just eat cinnamon rolls! They are worth it!
My friends and I got to play in the arcade area and I won a Harry Potter sticker which continued to make my day and a sparkly water glittery bracelet.
This adult was pooped after, but it was all worth it!

I bought the $ 20 coupon book back in January. Let me tell you, it was one of the best purchases I’ve made. This place always has a group of people and the pizza is descent. It’s also cool because they always have local sports on. I’ve also used them for pizza parties and they are real good at working with you to get what you desire.
I would update the games and fix them so they don’t rip you off so often. Other than that, good place.
