as the owner of Smitty’s Pool Care I come from a customer service background managing several companies along the way. Since 1998 I have spent all of my time developing Smitty’s Pool Care through continued schooling throughout the swimming pool industry and most importantly hands on pool service and repair. I do the majority of my repair and service myself. That is the only way you can truly be an expert in the swimming pool field. We are Lic, insured and certified which means I have passed extensive pool water and repair training.

Hired them to clean the pool at our rental property and according to the tenant, during the first and only visit, Smitty’s employee left within 10 minutes and pool was left dirty. Upon calling the business, owner was rude and condescending. Threatening to sue for payment of one pool «cleaning”(if you can call it that). This company’s owner can only boast about how they clean 300 pools with no complaints and about their awesome reviews on Unilocal,but little attention is actually paid to customer service. Unilocal page with only 3.5 stars and multiple complaints is considered awesome? As of today, you are back to having 299 clients. Smitty. I would suggest you put a little less effort into bragging about your services and a little more effort into cleaning pools.

My dog is currently lost because of these guys. One of your pool guys made our three dogs loose last time (when we first hired you) but they stuck around, called us, and we were able to get them back inside. The owner of this pool company came one day late (Our usual pool day is Thursday), let our dogs out, finished his job and went home.
Worst part of it all, He NEVER called to let us know. One phone call could’ve allowed us to find our dog. He never offered to help find the dog, is refusing to take accountability for our lost family dog. My kids are crying and we are all heartbroken. You better wish our dog gets found or I will report your business everywhere, all over online and media.
We have everything on camera. He opened the gates, the dogs got out, and he left the gate open and continued to work. He said he was «hoping» the dogs would return. Our dogs could’ve been loose to bite someone and now one is missing. We will do everything in our power to warn the community about your unethical business practice.
DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS. They are unprofessional and not capable of keeping their customers’ dogs safe and protected.
* UPDATE * 12÷11− We already spent over $ 100 in flyers, hours and days searching for Lola online and on foot. We are offering cash reward as well, but still no sign of her. It’s been a week and our dog is still missing. All because of lapse of judgement and irresponsibility of one person. This has been a nightmare.

We needed a salt system replaced, I had a quote from two other pool companies to do the work and the price seemed a bit high. Wanting a little confirmation on the work to be done I found Smitty’s Pool care on Unilocal!After talking to Rob for a few minutes we discussed what I needed done and he gave me a price almost 300 dollars below the other pool companies I was shocked at how accommodating they were. I had a new system installed within a few days and the tech who provided the service was thoroughly trained in installation and configurations of my multi speed pump so he was able to set up the optimum time for the pump to run and the right speed so it generated chlorine at the low speed operation. I was very pleased with the knowledge and promptness of the tech who performed the work and the professional manner in which Smitty’s pool care was able to get the job done in only days from the initial call. I’ve had a pool since 2006 and in all my time this was the most pleasant and professional service call I’ve had. Thanks again for the work performed!

I have been a client of Smitty’s for years now and there are two things that set them apart from the rest of those in their industry.
1. Honesty
Don’t get me wrong, Rob, the owner, is a good business owner and like any entrepreneur is for revenue generation. He however has demonstrated in several occasions his honesty and as such have earned my trust. He and his staff check equipment and will confirm with you the owner in the event that something has to be replaced. They leave the parts that were replaced so that you the home owner know exactly what was changed.
2. Personalized Customer Service
Smitty’s makes me feel that as an individual customer that I matter. I was able to reach Rob and get a response during the times my pool/​spa pump/​filter had issues.
He even listened to me when I was not satisfied with the service provided by one of his technicians. Other companies will just shrug it off but he actually did something about it real time and I immediately saw a night and day change in my pool service on the next visit.
If you are looking for a Pool/​Spa Maintenance and Service company in the Chino Hills area, you can’t go wrong with Smitty’s.

Awful company! Smitty Pool Care provide such a lousy and pool service on cleaning of my pool. The worker comes and don’t do any cleaning work and leave. leave us wondering behind… They would use all kind of excuses not to do the cleaning but want you to pay all the repair they can find. They have to charge a INSPECTION FEE, like my heater, Rob said we have to pay $ 500+ for the heater inspection or else they won’t inspect the unit. very ridiculous!
They can make your beautiful pool turns to ugly pool and charge you like no one’s fault. they are the vampire company,!!
Please, please do not use Smitty Pool Care company for your pool service. If you do, you will feel regret and sorry.

You should consider hiring a new staff all together. You have technicians who don’t show up for work & secretaries who call clients late. Ultimately it opens your company to bad reviews and opportunities for your competition.

If you need your pool or spa cared for, this is where you want to go for trusted care. Rob is the owner and nicest guy ever. He communicates with you when he will be there and what he will be doing. I hate it when people don’t follow through, but Rob definitely does. When you asks him questions about the pool, he takes the time to explain it to you and not make you feel bad. I had a bad experience with other pool guys, who thought I was asking questions thinking that they were teaching me how to clean the pool. I’m just a curious person and like to understand how things work. Definitely don’t have the desire it time to clean a pool. I leave it to the professionals.

I’ve used them for about 1 year. My pool went from brand new plaster and tiles to algae growth, green water, and heavy calcium buildup on the tiles. It’s so disgusting. This is after they charged me extras for all the treatements they put in through the year, and it happened before the weather warmed up so we didn’t even used the pool. I’ve noticed different people coming through the year so that probably contributed to the inconsistency in service. I don’t think the people hired are well trained and you can tell they’re not professionals, just jobless people trying to make a few bucks. I’m switching to another company quick before they ruin my new pool.
