Ronald Hensen, OD & Roberta Perlman, OD

Both doctors love their jobs, and that joy radiates through their work. They are experts at what they do, they run on time, and they have a broad, carefully chosen selection of eyewear from high end to serviceable. They understand insurance policies and will make sure you get the best deal. They carefully explain options and don’t try to upsale you to things you don’t need. And Dr. Perlman is active in education in Pomona, giving back to her community.

Great, that is the word for this place. Staff is super, Dr Hensen is amazing. We have been coming here for 20+ years and NEVER, I REPETE NEVER have had anything but a amazing experience. The Drs care, and the staff care. I brought my son here 20+ years ago after a bad experience at another Drs office. Since then my entire family now comes here, many of my friends come here, and a few people I have met over the years now come here.
I have to tell you, if you go to a different dr, and you are not 100% satisfied, try Dr. Hensen or Dr. Perlman, you’ll be glad you did. This is one of those places where you wish all of your friends could go to, they would be happy you gave them the name.
Oh yeah, Lisa, NO ONE!!! In this office is a racist.

Dr. Hensen was very personably and thoroughly explained everything during the examination and the after visit. I’m glad to find such a great optometrist close to home!

I am sorry Lisa H. had a bad experience at the office. I am a woman of color, and have been going to Dr. Hensen for years now. He AND the office staff have always been friendly and helpful. This is one of the few medical offices that I could without hesitation recommend to others. I hope Lisa gives the office staff another opportunity — I think they (and Dr. Hensen — YAH!) are SUPER!

Incredible service by Dr. Hensen & his Staff!!! I walked in on an emergency basis and was given an appointment on the spot. Dr. Hensen treated my severe eye infection and I cannot rave enough about his professionalism. The Staff was so sweet and compassionate & I am truly grateful for their attentiveness. I was in bad pain & Shimmona & Kathy routinely asked if i needed anything. Ive never experience such service at any Drs office. I didnt understand my insurance or how it all worked but Veronica sorted it all out and saved me long waiting time at Urgent Care and $ 50 co-​pay! Thank You, Thank You All!!!
Ok, now in response to Lisa H. I simply cannot believe your comments about this office since I witnessed only positive treatment towards ALL patients alike. Maybe YOU were having a bad day based on the continuous negative reviews you gave :(

Oh wow, where do I begin? The staff other than the actual optometrist are rude.
My husband came in for his contacts and they had told him that he needed to go through trial pairs until the right ones fit-​ok no problem. The third pair came in 2 or 3 months after the initial visit and they charged him $ 120.00 for the set. They never told him that he would have to pay and they said that «well your insurance doesn’t cover it!» Shouldn’t they have told him that to begin with and not be so rude about it? Then they go if you don’t want it, don’t take it. I don’t know if that lady (billing dept?)was on her rag but don’t take it out on patients! Maybe it was a race thing? She didn’t come off rude to the other (white) patients. I also asked if I can get my prescription and she was giving me a hard time to get my prescription. Ruined my morning! I just wanted my prescription, why so complicated?
Never returning to the location. Again, the DR knows what he is doing and super kind and attentive. On other hand, staff is super rude or racist!

I’ve been going to Dr. Hensen since I was a child and I’m in my mid 30’s now. He is a fantastic Dr. They get to know their patients so you aren’t just a number to them. The office staff is great as well.

I’ve been going to Dr. Hensen and Dr. Perlman for over 20 years. I always love the experience in the office, and here are some reasons why:
1. Dr. Hensen is a great doctor. He is super knowledgeable, and always takes the time to not only give me a thorough exam, but also explain exactly what is going on with my vision.
2. There is great energy in the office. Dr. Perlman always gives me a big hug and asks about my family.
3. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They do all of the little things that make a big difference such as remembering my name and following up with all my appointments/​glasses/​contacts/​etc.
I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hensen and Dr. Perlman!

Dr. Roberta Pearlman is fantastic. The office staff is great. I’ve been going to them since 2009). I recommend anyone to see Dr. Pearlman or Dr. Hansen.

Dr. Hensen was an absolute lifesaver! I had a horrible ulcer in my eye and my optometrist wanted me to see an opthamologist. After calling around and realizing that most opthamologists want a minimum of $ 175 just to look at you, I found Dr. Hensen’s office. Although he is not an opthamologist, he examined the eye and was very knowledgable and helpful in the diagnosis and treatment. His communication was wonderful and he was very attentive, explaining every aspect of his understanding of my condition, the antibiotic application and he was also very economical. The ladies at the front were kind and extremely helpful. Thank you so much for saving me time, pain and money!!!
