Cal Aero Events

I have the privilege of writing this review from multiple standpoints: bride, coordinator, décor stager and a hair and makeup artist. Being apart of the wedding industry in many outlets of this industry, I pay attention to many components as to what makes a wedding memorable, run smoothly and provide an atmosphere for personality as well as a wow factor. This venue offers so many touches to allow for a backdrop from getting ready to your very last dance. Less and Susan were so wonderful to work with and really let me use there space as my own.
As a bride, I had my wedding set for another wedding venue and once I performed my first wedding at this location I immediately changed it. My wedding theme was industrial elegance and this was beyond exactly what I got. My energy and ideas began to flourish once I made this change and it was the best decision. Many people asked what my connection to airplanes were and I had none but at the end of the day this addition to my theme was beyond perfect. I took this venue and brought out each element to showcase them as not an accident but as if this place was build for me.
I had 230 people attend my wedding and at no point were you cramped crowded or bored :) we used in n out food truck for catering, Billy the camera guy for our videography and photo booth, had a donut bar for our thank you’s, a corn hole area, the patio was decorated so elegant with not an empty seat the entire night as the large silver plane in our cocktail area that was like a second photo booth. We did rent portable bathrooms which made no issues or lines in any sense.
Over all my wedding was beyond my wildest dreams. To this day, I am told it was the best wedding yet! Everyone was in complete aw of how the décor and venue made such an amazing backdrop to our perfect day. I would recommend to anyone and have the privilege of being apart of many weddings this year here :)

We had our wedding reception at this venue and it was AMAZING… Our family and friends were well taken care of by Susan and team. My husband and I are really glad we made the decision to have the event at Cal Aero. It’s definitely a venue to keep in mind for a hassle free and picturesque event.

The BEST place to have a wedding (or any event)! Loved the bridal suite, the atmosphere, flexibility, staff, etc. Everything about this venue was perfect for my wedding, and I would highly recommend Cal Aero Events for any celebration!

I am in charge of planning my high school reunion and I checked out Cal Aero Events and loved it. I put down a deposit and reserved a date. However, it came to my attention that we weren’t going to have the big turn out we thought and we had to cancel. Cal Aero events was very kind and allowed me to get my deposit back once they booked someone else for that date. I was very surprised! I thought it was awesome that I was treated well throughout the whole process, even after I had to cancel. I would recommend this place to anyone planning an event.

Attended a wedding reception here on Saturday the 21^st of February 2015 in the late afternoon. When I first read on the invitation that it was going to be in a hangar at a local airport in Chino, my first initial reaction was «Huh?» But when I got there, I have to admit, the place was actually appealing.
Parking was adequate. You have stalls and when those are filled, you can park along the side of the parkway. Then you go about 50 yards to the hangar. Of course, it is gated so not just anybody can drive around in there. You walk through a gated door and then you are right there virtually right on the tarmac.
The hangar itself is huge because duh, it’s designed for huge planes. So props goes out to whoever made the decision to turn it into a banquet facility. I like how the front entrance has the big fold up type garage door. The whole duration of the reception it was open. As the night came about, the temperature dipped down to about 50 and even colder with the wind going on. After all, it is a large open field with a runway. If you were inside it wasn’t too bad. But if you were outside, it was really cold. In fairness they do supply about 3 heat lamps right at the front of the entrance to keep you warm.
All that open space they have right in front was reserved exclusively for a DJ and lots of room for a dance floor. The sound quality of the MC and music played was very good. I was amazed there was very little echo with it being a hangar and all. For water and alcoholic beverages, there is a bar kitty corner from the DJ booth. There is also a small covered section complete with sofas and ottomans along with a fireplace. They even have an actual plane that you can take pictures in front of.
As for the lone negative in my opinion, the bathrooms for the men and women are both singular. This was probably the only mistake I think the owners of the place forgot to plan on. When you have a big reception with lots of beverages including alcohol, trips to the bathroom will be frequent. Yes, it was quite an inconvenience having to get in line every time I had to go.
So, if you are thinking of booking an event here, as long as your guest list is not too overwhelmingly huge, I think your event should turn out pretty good.

This place is beautiful… here for a friends wedding and omg I can honestly say that they were on top of everything making this so easy for the bride and groom. They let us park our Mitsubishi Lancers and Evo’s inside the hangar with the guests it looked amazing. The bride had her car on one side and the groom had his car on the other, while we parked our cars next to each other. Never once were they rude about it or even when we needed to remove the cars so they could set up the tables. All they did was ask politely and it was done. Thank you John and Fer! for allowing us to be a part of your special day. We love you… and thank you Cal Aero for taking care of them.

Amazing place with a 5star staff. We held our wedding at cal aero… Friends still talk about the venue. Beautiful planes are a special touch. We will hold another event here for sure.

We went to a family friend’s wedding at this venue last night and had a wonderful time. The place was absolutely beautiful! The old planes set up in and around the venue were an amazing touch to the Hangar.
The Hangar had a wonderful staff of employees working the wedding. There was easy access to the clean and tidy restrooms, and bar area outside was set up so nicely with patio furniture and a fireplace.
I would definitely recommend this venue for any event! Such a creative, unique place.

Great place for a special event. Clean, lots of old air planes memorabilia. Diamond in the rough spot. Planes taking off with a great view. Staff is awesome.

Firstable, if you are looking at Cal Aero for an event (any kind of events), do not hesitate to book them as this place is amazing and who would not want to work with a bunch of awesome people such as Susan and Les, the owner and manager of this venue?
Our wedding this past Saturday was held at Cal Aero Events at Chino Airport. When we first looked at venues after we got engaged, we know right away that we didn’t want to hold the wedding at typical places (golf course, restaurant, hotels or a banquet hall).
A friend of mine sent us a brochure of Cal Aero from a local (Chino) magazine; we took a look and really liked the venue. Before we start the venue scouting, we knew we want to have a travel theme for the wedding and what can it better for 2 people who love to travel to have a travel theme wedding holding a wedding reception at a hangar at an airport close to home nonetheless?
From the beginning, Susan was very accommodating and easy going; as soon as you send an email to Susan, she will reply it right back or if not, within a couple of hours. Originally, our vision was to have one of their plane to take a big part of our grand entrance (the bride and groom come down from the plane…), but when we inquired, the plane was not available; so it was truly a surprise when Susan called at noon on our wedding day letting us know because of weather situation, we were able to have it!
It was truly a magical day for both my (new) husband and I as well as the guests to be in a unique place celebrating our wedding. Everyone raved how much fun they had that night and how awesome and unique our choice of venue was; we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We wanted our wedding to be unique, elegant with a twist of a whole lotta fun and think we nailed it.
Thanks to Cal Aero Events, Susan and Les and their team to make it so awesome. So if you have an event and need a unique place… this is it!

My wife and I had an amazing wedding and reception in the Cal Aero Aviation Country Club hanger. We listened to our 125 guests rave about «the best wedding setting & theme» for the past 2 weeks on Facebook and many said «they didn’t want to leave at the end of the night.»
Owners Les & Susan Whittlesea worked diligently with us to create our perfect day. They recommending our wedding coordinator couple, Alex & Jackie who were there every step of the way. Many thanks to all the staff and friends who helped make our special day the best experience.

The venue is gorgeous! Everyone at my wedding LOVE this place! Everything turned out beautiful and Les and Susan were amazing through out the wedding planning process! I highly recommend this location! Thanks again for making my wedding beautiful, unique and special!
