My experience with Jim did not go as I had hoped. Our AC decided to get a clog right before leaving on vacation. I understand with the weather being so hot, I wasn’t going to get someone out so soon. Jim said he would try to get out in the next few days, if not, he would come Sat. Sat. came and went with no service call or even a reason why. I contacted him on Mon., and he explained he had car problems and could come out Tues. or Wed. I said I needed to check with my neighbor on which day would work to let him in. When I called him back, I had to leave a message, and asked if he would return my call. I spent my vacation day trying to reach him, but his mailbox was full, and he never answered. I never heard from him again. I was disappointed because when I first spoke with Jim, he was very nice and gave me advice on how I could try to un-​clog it. Maybe I caught him at a very busy time, but with the lack of communication, I could never recommend him.

We met Jim from Bouma air five years ago when we bought out house. He put a brand new heat/​air unit on our roof, patched leaks and brought our primary unit up to date. We have had him out several times over the years and he has been amazing. We recommend him highly.

When the air conditioning recently stopped cooling at Bixby Knolls LaunderPet, I decided to try a Long Beach A/​C repairman as a backup to Bouma Air. The other company took over a week to giver a bid and said I had two options: replace a failed compressor for approximately $ 2,500 or replace the entire rooftop system for approximately $ 5,500. When the other co any failed to provide a written estimate for the compressor changeout, I called Jim at Bouma Air for a second opinion. Jim determined that the problem was a bad condenser fan motor, NOT the compressor. He fixed the problem and added refrigerant in a single visit for a total cost of $ 415!
