I wish I could go to Dr Borg! My kids have it great there. I always remember dentist visits as horrific when I was a child, but Dr Borg’s office is bright, friendly, cheerful but relaxed. A kid play area keeps them busy during our short wait, and they get to choose what videos to watch during treatment. Visits are thorough but quick. My son required one tooth to be extracted, and it was a breeze! My daughter had issues requiring a frenectomy and orthodontia, and Dr. Borg alerted us to these early on, and helped us connect to the right practitioners when the time was right. I highly recommend her.

We just moved to the area, and Dr. Borg was on a list of recommended dentists from our pediatrician. My kids are 18 months and 5 years old. Everyone in Dr. Borg’s office is friendly and helpful, and gentle with the kids. My 5-​yr-​old had to have two fillings, and the process was incredibly smooth, relaxed, and quick. We don’t have the best dental insurance, but they let you make payments interest-​free for 90 days.

Our appt was easy and smooth. The staff were very friendly and we didn’t receive any lectures about breastfeeding our 1 ½ year old :) We appreciate Dr. Borg respecting our stance on fluoride too. We are very pleased with our overall experience.

Dr. Borg and her staff are very friendly, and put my daughter to ease while she is there. They are prompt, and work with parents to get prompt appointments.

Not «extended» breast-​feeding friendly*
1. For those who are NOT extended* breastfeeding…
The staff are friendly, welcoming, accommodating, professional, are kid-​friendly, and do much to put children at ease. In this vein, I would recommend Dr. Borg; they get 5 stars. They let the kids pick a DVD to watch while their teeth are being cleaned, etc. Again, very kid friendly, and no weirdness. I’m also confident in her professional training that she received at Loma Linda, which has a reputable name.
2. For those who ARE extended* breastfeeding…
Dr. Borg is friendly, warm, and means well, yes, BUT the low marks come from Dr. Borg’s unsolicited personal opinion about extended breastfeeding. Her education is in dentistry, not lactation. She is not a licensed lactation consultant, and thus her sharply critical views about extended breastfeeding are informed by her opinion, not science. Her subjective bias against extended breastfeeding was uninformed and patronizing. As much as I want to be «nice,» I didn’t take to being reduced and reprimanded. I would not like to return simply on account of our clashing over this biological behavior. Yes, yes, her opinion is commonly held by a great many, and thus many would never have such a confrontation. I say this for the benefit of extended breastfeeding moms looking for extended breastfeeding friendly services.
Great service, but you might not want to mention that you breastfeed after solids are introduced.
*by «extended» I mean breastfeeding that lasts even after solids are introduced. By this, I am including a nursing toddler who nurses for security, comfort, nutrition, not to mention immunity. Again, I expect a number of people to be rather judgmental/​critical about nursing beyond a particular number of months and would thus never have a problem.
NB Dr. Borg is NOT a «pediatric dentist,» but she merely specializes in treating children. This is was not clear at first. I should also note, I would, personally, never consider the notion of «restraining» my child while services needed to be performed.
These are not meant to be ad hominem attacks, to besmirch the personal character of Dr. Borg. That would be unethical. Rather, I am reflecting upon the exchange that took place at an actual visit.
