We have one of the largest inventories in the North State of yarn, notions, buttons and accessories to fill all your knitting and crochet needs. We have felting, weaving, and spinning supplies as well as tatting and needlework. We offer classes and private lessons.

History

Established in 2004.

HeartStrings Yarn Studio opened in 2004 with the dream of becoming the «go-​to» place for all your fiber needs. In 2005, we tripled our floor space in moving to 1909 Esplanade. We remodeled our online store in 2015 so now you can access our amazing inventory from any place you find yourself with empty needles!

I’m a beginner to knitting and only went to this store because it was across the street from my chiropractor. I happened to be planning on going to Michael’s for some needles after my chiropractic appointment, so when I saw this place right across the street, I figured I’d save time and traffic stress by going here instead. I’m so happy I did because I bought some patterns and tools at a reasonable price and the lady who helped me (who I think was the owner) was unbelievably helpful without being the least bit pushy. There is drop-​in knitting on Saturdays 2 – 4, apparently, so hopefully I’ll be able to make some of those. Regardless, I will be back.

I cannot say enough good about Heartstrings. They have a huge selection of fine yarns and knitting supplies, along with tons of fiber for spinning. The service was exceptional. I was made to feel very welcome, but not pressured at all. They also have a great little spot where my husband could sit and the kids could play, as I stopped with all of them while I was on a road trip.
I was directed to the spot they keep the clearance yarns, and I checked it out, not expecting much. There were the usual clearance suspects, some crazy yarns that I’m sure someone out there loves (though not me). But there were also some amazing deals! Noro for 50% off?!! Yes please.
Definitely a place I wish I lived closer to. I will be making my way back.

Yarn stores like this are few and far between in the north valley. They have an awesome selection of yarn and all the people who work there are super-​helpful. I highly recommend it.

I recommend this place.
I’ve just started knitting and they have been very kind/​helpful. I don’t have much to compare to but for me they have been great. If you need help be patient because only one woman works at a time and can’t help every one at once.
They also have a lot of pay classes and free groups that meet in the back room.

I’ve been to all the knitting stores in Chico and the one in Paradise on the Skyway. This is by far my favorite. Excellent selection of yarns and the staff are very helpful. There’s even places to sit and knit in the store.
