Decent selection. The staff seems knowledgeable… But that was only overhearing their convo lol.
I walk in, and for 20 mins browse the store. And I get your helping people — but just say hi lol. Poor show indeed.
On a side note, I’m dressed very nice and it’s not as if I rolled in off the streets to gawk at your gear, but am looking for new Nimbus’s. Oh well lost $ 150+ didn’t you!

I am brand new to running and was nervous as could be going in. But everything online for running tips insists go to a dedicated running store – not just a general sporting goods store – and get the right shoes, so I went for it. Fleet Feet was awesome. Very friendly, immediately made me feel comfortable. He explained every part of the process, what he was looking for, and what the individual components were doing. Turns out I have funky feet (super long but skinny) but they weren’t phased at all. He brought out a variety of shoes and had me try them on, and knew what to tell me to feel for. Additionally he asked a lot of questions about my workout plans and was able to fill me in with lots of tips. I learned more about running, the physics of everything, and the market of running shoes than I ever expected in an hour. Expect to spend about an hour there, but it will be well worth it. Yeah, it was expensive, but you get what you pay for and I was not disappointed.

My first time in Fleet Feet was so successful. I had been warned by friends and family that the staff can be intimidating and will pressure you to purchase. I did not get that vibe at all. Greta measured my feet and helped me find the right shoes and insoles to help with my running. I will definitely go there again for all my running needs!

This place rocks!!! My feet were in serious pain. I’ve purchased insoles before but they didn’t last long. The ones I purchased here instantly felt better.

UPDATE: The Owner Contacted me and offered to make it right. I took my daughter down tonight and the two ladies on staff went above and beyond. They fit my daughter with NEW replacement Brooks and made sure SHE was happy.
This is the service I was expecting in the first place. It was a slow start but good recovery.

I’ve been shopping at Fleet Feet since I first came to Chico 35 years ago. The current owners are the 4^th ownership since the store opened and by far the best. They work hard at developing a quality staff and they’ve kept the store focused on the needs of runners rather than wandering off into weight training and such like a prior owner. One of the owners helped me to change some pre-​conceptions about what I needed in a shoe and helped me dramatically. Of course a local small business can’t match online prices, but the value of knowledgeable help is well worth it. And, they contribute significantly to growing the sport with their clinics and classes — which has real value.

My husband and I decided to try doing the Couch to 5K. Their website says, if you can walk comfortably for 15 minutes, you can do this. My husband and I had been walking for months, 40 minutes at a time. So we signed up. After spending a lot of money at their store, we attended the first meeting where they told us that the only way we were to contact them with questions is via email. When you do the Couch to 5K, you do two sessions a week with a coach and the third one you’re on your own. After two sessions, we couldn’t remember the warm-​up and cool-​down stretches/​exercises, so I emailed asking for a link, a hand-​out, anything to refresh our memories on the stretches and exercises. Nothing. No response. I tried emailing multiple times and never got responses. And the Couch to 5K is a lot harder than we would have thought, considering they said you could do it if you walked comfortably 15 minutes at a time, and we were way beyond that. I ultimately ended up hurting my knees so bad, I could hardly walk for a week.

The staff here is so friendly and they go out of there way to take the time and help you find the perfect shoe for you needs. This business really provides a great value for the level of service and products they provide. I won’t shop anywhere else for my athletic shoes and apparel.

I was hesitant to shop there knowing the prices. But, I am training for the Tough Mudder and need a good pair of shoes. I was greeted and helped. If I was to go to the mall I would have never got the help I received. I was fitted with several pairs and brands, only to leave with a pair that is perfect for me. Thanks

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Fleet Feet! I purchased some shoes and signed up for their 5k training program. The shoes weren’t quite right and even though I owned them for a couple months (though I hadn’t ran in them much) they fitted me for a new pair of shoes and exchanged them for me! Any other store would have expected me to shell out another $ 150 bucks. The shoes I have now are perfect and well worth every penny. There training program was wonderful and I now consider myself a runner thanks to these guys. I won’t go anywhere else to purchase my shoes.

Woah– seeing Fleet Feet with only 3 stars has really surprised me. Being a Chico native, I have been very aware of Fleet Feet’s involvement with the betterment of our community through having open arms to many organizations in this community while promoting health. They open their doors to the Run for Food without trying to sell people things while entering the store. I was really impressed with their involvement and expecting nothing in return, which is why I decided to get shoes from this store.
Never have I had so much genuine assistance purchasing something. I was given undivided attention and left with a great pair of shoes catered to my specific needs. I’ve been running on a pretty vigorous schedule and have had no pain and I attribute that to my proper pair of shoes.
Top notch products, friendly and educated staff… That’s a rare find.
If you want to support a quality, locally owned store that gives back to Chico this is your place.

Love Fleet Feet, especially their running clubs! They are very customer service oriented and will not be satisfied until you are satisfied. They maybe more expensive then online box stores, but what do you expect? You pay for the service you get, I will buy my running shoes from Fleet Feet over any other store hands down.

3 stars for service, that’s really is. Bought some $ 50 insets there that were useless, but I don’t know if the guy selling them knew any better. He seemed knowledgable and the other staff was nice.
If your a runner this is the place to go in Chico. Their prices keep them a 3 star establishment. Many items they sell you can order 20−50% less online.
