Very cool little museum worth coming in to see. Giant yo-​yo is pretty but they have a lot of unique toys as well. A lot of baby things too. It was fun to go in.

Every item in this store has been handpicked as being Bird in Hand. This store is total Chico. The pretty ladies that work here are always friendly and helpful. The owner does a lot for Chico, not to mention the awesome yo yo museum in the back part of the store. The ultimate gift store for others or YOURSELF!

When in Chico, you gotta check out this place. Nowhere like it on earth! The staff was all very friendly and helpful. And one super nice person even helped me learn a few new yoyo tricks.
If you’re into puzzles or board games, they have a great selection and some things I’ve never seen at other basic toy stores. Come for the yoyo’s, stay for the toys.

You can find almost any game or activity that you can imagine here. There is a huge assortment for all ages. I picked up a few games here that I hadn’t seen anywhere else. There are also a lot of gift items to look through.
The best part of the store is the YoYo museum in the back. There is a giant yoyo, tons of yoyos, and more information on the sport of yoyoing than I ever knew existed. I feel like I could really hold my own in a conversation about yoyos now, should one ever come up.

I do like local and I do like vintage. Bird In Hand reeks of nostalgia and I love it! Not to mention the history of the yo yo. I love the upscale five and dime essence and brings me right back to my childhood each time I visit.

Awesome toy store — huge selection; all kinds of toys for all ages!
The Yo Yo Museum is why we came though. It’s super impressive! Definitely worth a stop if you’re driving through Chico or killing time before your Sierra Nevada brewery tour.

This is one funky little shop. One of a kind, for sure. A Chico original, if you will.
I like this place if for no other reason than they have a great selection of Hawaiian shirts. You want some Tommy Bahama? This is your place.
Now, if you’re not looking for island-​friendly clothing, then how about a yo-​yo? Yeah, they’ve got an extensive selection of yo-​yos here, and an entire museum dedicated to them in the back.
Speaking of yo-​yos, there are also a crap-​ton of toys available here. Really, Bird In Hand is a great store because adults can pick up clothes, and the kids can shop for toys. Knick knacks, wooden dinosaurs, blouses, this place kind of has it all.

I used to go to this shop all the time to find gifts for friends. They have tons of different kinds of things from all over the place. This is a really neat little shop with nice people that actually will try and help you find something.
Worth checking out for sure.

What a wonderful throwback in toy stores. There is so much stuff. We came for the yoyo museum. There aer few places with so much available yoyo items.
Come Saturday afternoons for the Chico Yoyo Club. This is a great opportunity for even the newest of players to learn as well as a place for champions to enjoy.

Wow, wow. Just, wow. There is no sense denying it, this store is awful. There is absolutely nothing worth buying, which is actually quite a feat considering how much stuff is packed into that room. As a matter of fact, there is nothing in Bird in Hand that I am glad to have seen, touched, or considered. There are stacks of T-​shirts with cheesy phrases and animals, toys your nephew won’t play with, and more «funny» birthday cards than I knew existed in the entire world. Who is this store’s target customer? I don’t understand.
But, there is good news! The store also has a yo-​yo museum in the back. Great.

Great variety of things from mens clothes to childrens toys. Need a yo-​yo, this is the place. They also have yo-​yo lessons I think on Saturdays.

Not my kind of store, but this place did bring back many many little kid memories! I was walking around Downtown Chico and many places were closed and I decided to come in here just to check it out!
This place is huge and they have so many different types of gifts and toys! It definitely reminded me of the childhood days!
What surprised me the most was the yo-​yo section they had in the back! They had the biggest yo-​yo in the world or something and I saw it, how cool! I am not really a fan of these kind of things, but I must admit it was pretty damn interesting!
I didn’t end up buying anything but the people that work in this store are nice and friendly and I would probably come back and take a second look if I am ever in the area again !

This store is amazing, and carries an eclectic mix of merchandise, unfortunately most of which really appeals to me. Toys, garden supplies, candles, cards, gifts, aprons, kitching ware, men’s clothes, shoes, umbrellas, lotions and skin care, kites, baby items, jewelry, sporting goods, yo-​yos, books, puzzles, and the most AMAZING selection of toys I’ve seen in a long time. These are magical toys that spark the imagination, not just the plastic crap you see at Toys R Us.
Everything is beautifully displayed and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable, and given the array of offerings, you’d be hard-​pressed to find a similar store anywhere.
You could literally spend a couple of hours browsing their collection, and yes, this is one of those places where you can all your gift shopping done for your complete list, and everyone will be thrilled!
