Sorry! But wls has gone done the flusher.
Got rid of roe, Dan proft, Bruce wolf, kass and cone, basically got rid of everyone that I liked to listen to.
Now they have (all he cares about is selling his podcasts) Dahl, should have seen the writing on the wall when he was guest hosting with roe.
Jonathan brandmier, hmmmmm?
The only time I listen to wls now is Michael savage, Levin, Limbaugh, and red eye radio.

I used to listen to Roe Conn whenever I was in my car during his time slot (Roe & Roeper) and always enjoyed his humor and take on various current events both nationwide and in the Chicago area.
I try to listen to Steve Dahl but usually turn the station after listening for only a few minutes… like the other day I turned on the station and he was actually on air, on the phone with his wife having an argument about the end of a family holiday tradition of eating at an all-​you-​can-​eat buffet. How one could possibly think this is entertainment is beyond me.
Steve also struggles through anything he’s required to read on the air. Kind of sounds like President Obama when he doesn’t have a teleprompter — stutters and stammers through the piece. Again, not very entertaining or informative. I find most of his repertoire to be neither funny nor entertaining.
I miss Roe! Sorry, you’ve lost a listener by not renewing his contract.

I USED to listen all day. Wolf and proft, Lauren and John, Rush, Cohn and Roeper, Sean/​savage. Never again !!! How do you let Roe and Roeper get away. See ya

Bravo! A true local asset for Chicago!

WLS is a Chicago radio legend that has been turned into something other. WGN experienced similar problems in 2009, but has kept its ²⁴⁄₇ local programming alive.
It is hard for me to listen to WLS nowadays. The traffic reports on the 5s are quite annoying. They hardly give any time to talk about anything. WLS also has horribly long commercial breaks.

WLS-​Am has taken an number of changes over the years before becoming primarily a talk radio format. Now the bullet points:
1. You could call this a conservative’s radio heaven (Rush 11: AM-2:PM live, Sean Hannity 6−9PM & Mark Levin 9: PM-12:AM). Hannity & Levin are both rebroadcasts.
2. At first, I was somewhat upset when Mancow was let go. Somehow, I figured he could do a good show but things didn’t work out. Enter Aurora native Cisco Cotto (9 – 11:AM), who has done a tremendous jos since taking over. Big fan of the second amendment.
3. Don Wade and Roma are the longest running AM drive team in Chicago. Normally I’m not up to catch them but if I am, they make for a good listen. They are a husband & wife team.
4. Roe & Roeper. It took me some time to get used to Roeper. As a rule, I generally don’t like listening to columnists doing a radio show. This show is basically native Chicago area folks with Roe (Chicago), Roeper, (Dolton) & Christina Filiaggi (Glen Ellyn). News radio legend Jim Johnson (who worked at WLS during the Lujack/​Edwards/​Sirott/​Landecker era). Nice balance of wit and wisdom. If I want to turn on the midday local news stuff, this is one show I check out. Roe is pretty up front with his opinions– no punches pulled. I liked Roe’s run with another Chicago radio hostg Garry Meier.
5. My weekend listen is from 3 – 6:PM for Larry Kudlow Show (not Kudlow & Company), although it is a rebroadcast it’s still a worthy listen. This is especially for those who who listen to him on CNBC. Bruce Wolf has transitioned out of his once signature sportscaster role & offers some strong opinions you may least expect.
6. I don’t like it when notre dame sports preempts a program I enjoy. It is what it is I guess.
7. If all else fails during a long midwestern drive (and don’t have Sirius/​XM), you have WLS to fall back on.
8. If you REALLY want a flashback:
(9:45 AM daily. Wolfman Jack was great but Uncle Lar was the best).
(now the PA voice you hear in the remaining Blockbuster stores).

Still a 5-​star show and now with the addition of Richard Roeper, it’s even a little better. Now from 2p-​6p, give it a listen or even watch it from 3p-​6p on NBC 5.2, non-​stop Chicago.
