Overall we had a coupld fun nights here. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. The only complaint I could have is that it was often pretty crowded. They placed their bar right in the middle which really didn’t help.
Too bad they closed down another left the south loop.

Sorry to break the news, but WineStyles South Loop is now closed. I was devastated when I heard the news.

I was here as part of a bachelorette party. I was initially wary, having been to a WineStyles before for a bachelorette party (a different location) and being unenthused when there was no seating at the other location. But, I ended up arriving at WineStyles about an hour before the party began, due to me being a nervous city navigator and having the added stress of Lollapalooza crowds. I was pleased to see ample seating and settled in with a glass of red and the latest US Weekly until the rest of my party arrived.
Well, I remain sort of unimpressed with WineStyles. The service was adequate, but none of the staff went out of their way at all. When one member of our party tried to buy a bottle of wine, a staff member told her, rather inexplicably, «Well, we’re kind of running low on wine.» Umm… huh? We sat, we drank, we laughed… and we moved on.

I’m not a big wine drinker but if I was I’d be heading to WineStyles more often. They have a great wine selection with killer service. It’s really cool that you can purchase a wine off the shelf and open it right there at one of the tables. If wine isn’t your think they also carry a few beers and cigars.

Wine + food = fun had by all. Had a wonderful time here with friends. They offer live music on certain nights, so check the scedule. Also have a collection of reasonable priced wines. The wine is assorted by wine and reds and then by types/​tastes. The staff is always happy to help out with your selection. If you decide to stay at Wine Styles and enjoy your vino, there is a $ 4 charge for the first bottle. Kind of a corkage fee. You can make an entire evening out of Wine Styles. It’s a BYO-​food, which is an awesome idea. So stock up your bottles, bring some food, and stay for some great music and fun atmosphere. Good for a couple or a group.

WineStyles in the big box of wine stores (they’re a national chain). This specific location is getting an extra star due to the entertainment they sometimes have, but regarding the general WineStyles stores, they are not somewhere you want to belong to if it’s your only wine club membership. The employees described it to me as ‘the entry into wine for younger people,’ which is fine, except unfortunately the staff is not very knowledgeable in wine. This location is honestly the most knowledgeable (I’ve been to several around this area as well as in Arizona, which was horrible), but it just doesn’t compete with other wine stores. They have a very limited selection as well. With Solo Wine Cellar and Binnys so close, this location is fortunate to have entertainment to keep a crowd coming in.

I’ve popped into this particular Wine Styles a few times here and there to pick up a bottle or two, mainly because it’s convenient to my apartment. So when I heard they were having a Bottles & Brushes event, I was pretty excited.
I’d been to a B & B event at the Wine Styles on Belmont and it was really well-​organized. This go-​round, not so much… For starters, the event was to include a tasting of six wines. However, we only got two. The tasting was totally unorganized and there were only two people working in the store; one of whom was doing the tasting and selling bottles simultaneously, and the other was just standing around avoiding contact with any potential customers. One of my friends caved and bought a bottle simply so we’d have something to drink while we painted. I can totally understand WS wanting to sell wine at the event – and we would’ve probably bought a bottle anyway – but I didn’t appreciate the tasting being cut off before everyone had a chance to taste all of the wines.
The highlight of the evening was when yet another organized group came into the store. So, in addition to hosting a B & B event, the store manager apparently thought it would be wise to also host a chocolate tour group. Bad idea. She wasn’t even able to tend to the B & B participants sufficiently, so she shouldn’t have added another group to the mix unless she had the store properly staffed.

Props to Wine Styles for using Unilocal to better an otherwise not so great experience. The owner, Tracye, reached out to me after reading my review above, and offered to host a complimentary tasting party for my friends and me to remedy the situation. I’ll update further after I take her up on her generous gesture.

WIneStyles is quite possibly the perfect concept. BYOF — Bring Your Own Food. Further you can purchase wine off the shelf and drink it right there while listening to live music or playing a board games.
The staff is pleasant and helpful with providing glasses and holding your bottle.
This is a great 2^nd date place.

This wine shop is a lot of fun! We stopped for a wine and chocolate pairing and the manager put together some great combinations. We ended up buying 2 of the 3 wines we sampled, plus a bunch of chocolate. Definitely want to go back and take advantage of their summer deals.

CUTE little wine shop! They have tons of bottles, accessories, and even tables for you to sit and enjoy there. You can get a flight wine from 5 open bottles for $ 11 or wine by the bottle or glass. I heard from the group I was with that they carry all wines under $ 25 a bottle, and you can get 6 for $ 60.
We stopped in for a glass and were delighted. Tasty wine with fantastic descriptions on the menu. They even have an instant chiller barrel. So if you buy a bottle of white on the way to a dinner party you can chill it to cold, very cold, or ice cold in under 10 minutes!

Super cute, friendly, and welcoming. After only going there once I already feel like i’m part of the family. Buy a bottle or sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Plenty of different and interesting wines to taste, but you can trust that they’ll all be good. Definitely looking forward to next thursday. free wine 6 – 8.

I have so many great thing to say about WineStyles!
I went for the first time last Thursday for their complimentary wine tasting from 6pm to 8pm. They feature a different grape variety every week which lets you compare different wines of the same variety!
On Thursday’s, there is also live music and the singer was great. It’s BYOF — bring your own food. So you can purchase bottles and they will open right there to enjoy with any snacks you bring!
The staff is unbelievable. Not only are they knowledgeable in an unpretentious way but they warm and friendly! I am no a huge fan of WineStyles and will be stopping in on Thursday’s to enjoy the tastings, not to mention be purchasing wine here in the near future!

Everyone is super friendly there– I really like it.
Their wine selection is great and really different. No lame, generic wines here. Also, They have a wide range of prices, so the wines are very accessable.
You can buy wine and drink it there– fun!

You know, I have yet to meet a wine bar I didn’t like, and this place is no exception. WineStyles is the absolute antihesis of Sam’s. Staff here is warm, friendly and most important, knowledgable. I love that the store is arranged by «flavor» rather than grape.
I got a recommendation tonight for an amazing Syrah/​Petite Sirah mix. The selection is diverse and the price point is more than fair. And, psst, there’s free wine tastings on Thursday nights. This place is a welcome addition to the South Loop. Between Warehouse Liquors and WineStyles, we’ve got the neighborhood covered. Nobody should ever have to bother with Sam’s.

I went here after work with a collegue. For a wine shop it looked great and the staff was friendly, and the layout was well organized. For a hangout it was just ok. The chairs were uncomfortable, but the casual atmosphere was great.

As a recent resident of the South Loop, I was worried that I wouldn’t know anyone in this new part of town. I saw WineStyles one day as I explored the South Loop, and found myself joining up for the Wine Club before I officially had moved into my apartment. The staff are unparalleled across any other business I frequent. I could buy wine anywhere, but I choose WineStyles for three reasons:
1. Selection — WineStyles prides themselves on not selling any Woodbridge or Yellow Tail mass produced wine. They focus on bringing great wines from more independent wine makers that are amazing. Their weekly Thursday wine tastings, always ends with at least 1 or 2 bottles in my arm.
2. Price — This place is great at breaking the myth that price directly correlates to quality. I can get a great bottle of wine for under $ 15, and with their bar and seating area I can pop it open without any extra corkage fee.
3. Community — This is by far the best selling point of all three. I walked in one night by myself for the tasting and ending up meeting several patrons that have become great friends. I believe the staff and the place just perpetuate a feeling of good times and socializing. WineStyles has become a common meeting point for several of us now, and I dare say I can’t find myself having more fun elsewhere.
If you haven’t stopped by yet, you need to come by! If you walk in on a Tuesday or Thursday evening, you’ll find us at the bar welcoming all those who stop by. I highly recommend Thursday for the free tasting and live music.

AMAZING wine shop — I live really close so decided to stop by and buy a couple bottles — the staff is always super energetic and helpful with wine selections. I’ve probably purchased 20+ bottles from this store and each one has been FANTASTIC. They only stock really great wines that they love! EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT service — why can’t EVERYONE love their job as much as the people who work at Wine Styles?!

OK, this place blows the other wine shops out of the water! The people who work in the shop are so much fun and really love wine! They have a very nice selection of wines to choose from and they are arranged in an easy to interpret way. Additionally, you will find a lot of very reasonably priced wines to choose from as well as a few you may pick as a treat to yourself or a nice gift for someone else. Also, I must throw my 2 cents in on the tastings. They have very frequent tastings that are like a big party. Each tasting gives you a great opportunity to try something new and expand your wine horizons. They also have special events such as the one I went to where for $ 25 I had a chance to meet Alpana Singh and got a copy of her book and a glass of wine. It was great!
This wine shop is also a great place to come and relax with a glass of wine and meet some of the people from the neighborhood. I have never been one to sit at a bar by myself and feel comfortable, but this place is so welcoming and friendly I don’t mind pulling up a seat at the counter and ordering a glass of delicious wine by myself. It is a great addition to the neighborhood!

winestyles is… AMAZING. i havent been to any other location but the one on south michigan is staffed by amazing women who have made my boyfriend and i feel welcome since before we even moved into the neighborhood. we belong to the wine club and get 2 bottles a month, as well as 10% of all purchases. you can bring your own food and there is tastings with live music on thursdays. also, if you have to wait for them to package something, they will ask if you want to sample. ummm YES! oh AND they are dog friendly!
for mothers day, they made us a beautiful basket full of items we selected for my bfs mom. also, a couple weeks ago i went there with bf, two of our friends, and met my dad and his gf. we bought a lot of glasses, some bottles, and other items. the next day, one of the employees jonnie emailed me a thank you note — talk about amazing customer service.
and of course, their recommendations are always spot on, the wine is amazingly priced and organized in a way that even novices can find something they like.
